I later learned it's supposedly soccer legend Lionel Messi's favorite dish. To me, it reminded me a bit of a deep-fried German schnitzel, in the best possible way. It came with delicious fries that disappeared quickly. My wife absolutely loved the freshly made empanadas. One detail we thought was clever: each empanada is stamped with a number identifying the filling, which makes ordering and sharing much easier.
