As another reviewer mentioned, apparently you get the choice of grilled, fried, boiled, or off the roller -- we weren't asked and ended up with grilled. The tots were phenomenal, some of the best I've had, and I kept poaching them when she wasn't looking. I hope the biz owners know my intentions are very much in a spirit of offering constructive feedback, with hopes of coming back in, and not malicious at all here. Here are a few more things that were off that are worth calling out: -Vibes were a bit weird inside. The ammonia smell, tables dirty. My daughter went to get a water and saw cups and asked me if she could grab one, I gave a thumbs up from across the room -- turned out to be wine glasses! So she's loading up waters for the table in wine glasses, and a minor miracle we didn't end up breaking one. Kind of random to be set by the fountain machine. -The drinking fountain was out of order and it was pretty dirty back by the bathroom -Service was neutral at best, not really walking us thru anything and sort of half-hearted about it -The dog was kinda small for seven bucks What was fun though was the foosball table, so that's a cool addition. Feels very college towny across the board in here. I'll keep with the idea of supporting a new neighborhood spot, but a lukewarm first impression across the board.

They have old school service and smiles. Great meat, friendly butchers and the folks at the front are super. We buy Curley's BBQ sauce here. Plus they have wonderful local KC bread and Amish eggs, farm fresh for $5.99 a dozen. High quality meat here, cut to spec and they have bigger quantity value packs you can order ahead and fill the freezer. The building is old, but spotless. Love the HUGE selection of wood and pellets here. It's amazing!! Buy local. This is a neighborhood gem!!

That's my standard test for any burger joint. Sometimes I'll get fries or tots, but I don't really care for either generally. Today I got a big old Smashburger. The patties were thin crispy and more than ample. Great flavor and sear on the meat. Friendly gal at the front register who allowed me to take my time as I was unfamiliar with the menu. She was very kind. The floor is a little dirty, and it smells kind of funky, which is appropriate for a good burger joint. I will be back. Thanks to my wife for convincing me to give Paul's a second chance.

I loved the food, but the kids' orders were wrong and when brought to the cashier they didn't seem happy about it- not sure if its a normal occurrence or what. When I got to the window to pay, I saw another employee clearly serving chocolate ice cream to someone else. When I pointed this out, the girl at the window suddenly stopped responding and acted like she didn't understand English -- except to tell me how much I owed. Blatantly lying to a customer and then pretending not to understand when called out is unacceptable. I won't be back. I don't support businesses that lie to customers and play games when confronted.
