Generally speaking I am not one to review a Walmart but this one is amazing. I only stopped because I was in the area and needed a potty break but I ended up leaving with a cart of stuff I may or may not have needed. Walmart has been rolling out remodeled stores that they are calling the Store of the Future. They are sinking more than half a billion dollars into upgrades to create a more modern shopping experience. It's costs approximately $750,000 to transform each store. 150 stores will be upgraded over the next five years. One of the first stores made their debut in The Villages. This supercenter store seems much larger than your typical Walmart. It is spotless and the organization is more aligned to an upscale department store. Remodeled stores have new paint, new signs, more shopping carts, a new checkout design at the front of the stores and more space for both shoppers and employees. The pharmacies will be increased and the vision center will be updated. The grocery pickup and delivery programs are expanded along with the produce and deli sections, an added new Grab & Go section, and new community-focused food and merchandise offerings. This store was very crowded but I was impressed. I was floored to see actual displays! Clothing options were vast and organized neatly by size. I could have shopped here all day. For once was my cart was not a hunk of junk but rolled and maneuvered smoothly. While there was a line to check out it moved very quickly. I had my choice of a paper receipt but I also had it texted to my phone. No more lost or smudged receipts, genius! If this is what Walmart has in store for the future bring it on. By the way you can do much more than just shop for needed items and groceries. You can also get your phone fixed, do your taxes, get your nails done, check your vision, and eat at Churro Mania and Charley's Cheesesteaks. This Walmart is not much better than my local store. Walmart seems to be trying to accomplish some upgrades! The store on NE 163rd Street (North Miami Beach) was cleaner, had a large Grab and Go section which is new, the pet section is expanded and I literally did not have to wait long to checkout. I was there on Thursday night. What has not changed, no employee cares to be of any sort of assistance to the shoppers, however, I must shout out Miss Rhonda, she checked us out. She was friendly, courteous, quick and great at packing! She actually was smiling with us! What has not also changed is how busy the store is, the impossibility of finding produce bags in the produce section, so I bypassed that, and the difficulty in getting a cart without chasing them down in the parking lot! My companion left his small briefcase in the cart as we were rushing to catch the bus. Upon exiting the store, we immediately returned to the store. We seached the cart area and went to Customer Service. Nothing! We asked clerks near the checkout counter and nothing. As we were leaving, I recalled a store employee with a store bag under his arm scurrying to the employee back area for the take of the day. We only do grocery pickup here now. Thank God they offer that option and the only reason why we give it 3 stars and not one. This location is run down, nothing is ever organized no matter what time or day you decide to stop by. The lines are ridiculous so you better clear out the rest of your schedule for the day, and of course there's only 2 registers ever open. The grocery pickup isn't perfect but definitely a better option. The substitutions they give are sometimes a little crazy but they do send you an email ahead of time now so you can either accept or reject them. The staff members are usually friendly and they help you put your groceries in your trunk/ back of your car depending on your preference. read more

Going to Walmart can be challenging at times. I prefer Target myself but if you go to Walmart, go after 10pm when it's much quieter. If I went during peak hours, I'd rate this place a 1 Star because of all the truly unpleasant patrons that go. Arguments break out all the time and people just so unhappy and wanting to get in your face. The prices here are lower than most places and their choices are unbelievable. The main reason for me going is to buy their brand of flavored carbonated water called Clear which comes in multiple flavors. My choice is the Black Cherry which comes in plastic or cans. For $.25 a can you can't beat it and you'll loose weight drinking it too! There's little to no after taste and it's far better than Diet Coke or Coke Zero. I even brought a large cup of ice and started to sample all the flavors which is how you really need to try it. Obviously you'll need to pay for the opened bottles. This Walmart will probably be insanely busy so just take the first parking space in the lot that you see, even if it's a 1/2 mile from the entrance. This will further lessen the chances of a rogue cart left in lot from rolling into your car door. Come with a shopping list to help you get in & out quickly. Push your cart defensively-people walk the aisles here the same way they drive I-95. Learn the layout of the store-you probably won't be able to find an employee to help you & if you do, they'll probably be busy on their cell phone. Grab a magazine to read while waiting in the checkout line. Go back to your car, take a deep breath, and rejoice in how much you saved by shopping at Walmart. Worst of the worst, I went to return something and customer service was closed, is ridiculous that the store closes at 11pm and customer service Clases at 8pm , my first time seeing something like that, but the funny part is that I spoke with the "manager " ( Vincent)and he told me that he can't help me because he don't know how to do a return, can you believe that? When you are a manager you HAVE TO KNOW how to do a return, you have to be trained and be to be able to perform any task. I think many of us can agree that there is hell on earth & it's also known as Walmart. I swear it's like Walmart is home of the pointers. First of all nobody cares to help a customer when in need. The employees will either ignore you while passing by, tell you it's not their department, act like they don't understand you/speak English, or they'll rudely let you know that they're off the clock or on their lunch break. However, if by some miracle you catch a unicorn employee who understands you & is stationed at a particular department that you need assistance in, they will just point & say 'it's in that isle over there'. Damn, it's like they're incapable of surpassing a "threshold" (like the movie skeleton key. Ugh why can't you simply accompany me to the isle to get a better understanding of what I need?! This place is overcrowded 24/7 and its always challenging to find a parking spot. I ended up spending 35 minutes on the line to return item that was faulty. They have only person working on that section which make it extremely difficult for customers to return some items. There were 24 people waiting with me on the line. read more

Came to buy backpacks and they were $12 cheaper on the app then when we tried to buy in store they said that only applies to pick up orders, we asked if they can price match there own website and they said no. When I placed the pick up order they never came out to my car to help me. This is one of the better Walmart's. Probably one of the busiest as well as the only one that has more than five lanes opened at a time. Even with all of the traffic flow here, lanes seem to move quite fast. Priceless. In my opinion, Walmart is not the best place for fresh produce or meats. I've been to this particular Walmart a handful of times. It's sort of on 163rd but VERY recessed behind other stores and practically hidden from the main street. There's a Ross and other stores surrounding the store so you can't really see it from the street. It's close to 15th Ave and if you look closely enough there are signs. The parking lot seems littered with random carts left behind by lazy shoppers who don't properly return their carts so watch when you're parking to not hit a cart. The store itself is huge but as I said before, aren't they all? The displays and departments are organized enough so that you shouldn't have to be searching around for whatever you're looking for. There's a full blown McDonald's at the south entrance with McCafe so you can get a coffee to go. Check outs aren't so bad for each time I've been. There's an express aisle for 10 or 20 items as well as self check outs. read more

She literally stared at my husband & i when we walked up to her to inform that 1 of her cashiers removed not 1 but 3!!! reduced priced clearance tags from a single bikini top that had no match to it & then tried charging me the full price. I was going to buy it until the cashier lost her mind with removing multiple tags, which isn't even legal because if it's priced incorrectly they still have to sell it at that price but it was not labeled incorrectly, as it was a lone bikini top sans matching bottom as mentioned. This manager couldn't have given less of a shit & the short, young Asian female associate that responded couldn't have cared less either.
