So I live out of town and do my shopping through Walmart.com and use the pick up option at the Lompoc location. Today, about half of my groceries were missing when I got home to unload them. To make a long story short, Jared, the store manager offered to personally bring my forgotten groceries to my home. All other staff I spoke with would only quote policies, they didn't care I am a mom with a toddler who isn't fully vaccinated and therefore cannot go grocery shopping with me like normal, during this pandemic. This is specifically why I only grocery shop once a month and carefully arrange that trip with childcare. Jared was not only kind but he listened and understood my situation, offering his own time to make everything right. We usually do our Walmart shopping at the neighborhood market in Santa Maria but we come here to Lompoc because we have outdoor activities we enjoy here. We will sometimes stop at this store to buy a few things on our way home. The store has a great selection however, we are not very happy with their receipt checking policy as you leave the store. The last couple of times we've been in there the clerks at the door were kind of aggressive with us. I don't understand it. They've got cameras all throughout the store, they've got a camera for each check out in the self checkout area, and there are cameras in the parking lot. If you want to catch a shoplifter don't you think that's enough cameras to get one? I do not appreciate being made to feel like a criminal when I go shopping. It makes for what otherwise should be an enjoyable experience, to something we dread every time we shop at this Walmart. I thought in this country you are innocent until proven guilty! Not only is it time consuming to have to stop and wait in line at the door to have your bags and your receipts checked but it is humiliating. What kind of a world do we live in now where honest paying customers are made to be treated like shoplifters?Give it up, Walmart. You're pushing the loss prevention a little too far. read more

I never write reviews about my grocery shopping trips but today was such a good day here I just had to Yelp it! One of the employees from the meat department, Alex, helped me get everything on my list, he even helped me in another department that wasn't meat. While at the register, I brought my own reusable bags and I always bag my own items but the cashier, Phyllis, was kind enough to do it for me! It was so organized. I'm so glad I came across these 2 employees today, it's really the little things that they take time to pay attention to that really make a difference. read more

Call you to tell u your prescriptions are ready, get there, stand in line, and get told they are still filling them, it should be ready in about 10 minutes they say. Visited Lompoc Walmart 2days ago. I want to say thank you to Timothy in sporting goods and hardware. He helped me with a purchase of an old timer knife for my 55 year old son. I was happy to know he knew about knives and that he cared. I'm 76 and he was happy to help an old lady. We drove down due to inventory that was at the Lompoc Supercenter! Once we found electronics, we were greeted by an associate named "Ryan." As it turned out, we couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable, or helpful employee! It was my daughters first gaming computer purchase, so you can imagine how important this Christmas buy would be! Thanks to "Ryan," we were able to purchase a formidable gaming tower and monitor for just over a $1,000! When we got home her friends said that we got a really good deal and a powerful combo! Can't figure out why people love to bash Walmart. I think they do an amazing job, especially this one in Lompoc. The employees are the best of any Walmart I have visited and the store is the perfect size. I am not a fan of the huge stores...it is just overwhelming to go in for a few things and feel like you have entered a 12k unwittingly. This one is manageable. However, I wish we could have a few more checkers, but I understand how expensive human labor is. In this state, with all of the contingent liability and costs associated with having an employee, they are priced out of a job. I understand that. read more

I've been going here for a while for basic essentials. Today I was shopping for my usual items. I was looking for toilet bowl cleaner then headed towards the aisle with dish cleaner brushes. There was an employee in the same aisle who was unloading highly stacked, heavy boxes off of a skinny cart when the boxes fell on top of me. I was wearing sandals so they got my feet/ankles pretty good. My right ankle bone got bruised pretty bad. Very disappointed with how they handled it. The employee had no idea what to do and clearly Walmart did not give them enough training (be it for incidents or how to properly unload/stack boxes). Felt bad for the employee. But I left feeling as if Walmart didn't care that I got hurt. It should not have happened. Very, very unsatisfied and disappointed. read more

I arrived 11 minutes exactly before the customer service booth was supposed to close and asked if I could exchange some undershirts because I had purchased the wrong size. The woman working gave me serious attitude and said her drawer was counted so she would not let me exchange my merchandise. I spoke with the night manager who also gave me attitude and would not let me EXCHANGE the shirts. Bottom line, if the sign says you're open to a certain time, you are open to help customers until that time. read more

Doesn't matter if it works I guess. I called corporate and they said the manager of the Lompoc Walmart would contact me within three days. I never heard from him. SO I am transferring all my medications from their pharmacy, which amounts to thousands of dollars since I am on 21 prescriptions. Not too smart of their manager. So i went to walmart today to get a new cell phone. After asking questions from the young male (dont know his name) working the electronics dept., he was rather inpatient and I felt he was in a rush. I told him let me think about it while I shop. I went back several minutes later and was helped by z young male. I did see his name tag. Joel. He was very knowlegeable and was very patient with all my questions. He was very easy to talk to. I really appreciate when employees show a decent amount of concern for the customer service they provide. I love this Walmart, way better than the one in Santa Maria. This super center is exactly what Lompoc needed. Being able to get all my shopping done in one place is so convenient. All of the associates are always very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are much cleaner than most stores around here and they stock and check up on them often. I like the way the grocery side is setup although I do dislike that the cosmetics and hygiene products are on the other side of the store. The savings catcher saves my family so much money each money and keeps me from going to a competitor. read more

In general, I don't like walmart. They have predatory pricing that causes small businesses to fail, and they manipulate local tax laws to avoid property taxes by leaving "old" stores and then developing new locations. I believe that their "supercenters" are especially damaging to local businesses--still, their low prices on some consumables draw me in maybe once every six months or so. This store is fairly well-run, but there never seems to be a salesperson on the floor or in the department you are in when you need them. read more

I go to our Walmart in Lompoc and I feel the customer service is really bad. I walk around for stuff and I here employees complain that they were either yelled at from a customer because of a bad attitude, then ran to her co-workers and complained. Needless to say everyone could here her, extremely loud. I've been customer service for over 25 years and I a professional, the way I see Walmart in Lompoc I don't like going in there because the employees obviously don't like working there and it transpires to the customers. Went in with my two children, and my husband at around 9:30pm. We walked into the store and my children fell in love with frosty the snow man. There were 4 frosty the snow man that were priced at $19.88 on the shelf, right under the tag. The box was priced at $99, which typically is NOT the price that is, hence the need for Shelf tags. (The shelf tag is usually lower than the priced manufacturer price on the box) we went up to speak to cosmetics and asked for help from Danielle, she ignored our request despite the fact that she had no customers in line. When we brought up the snow man, she stated that it was $99 something + tax. She requested for a manager once, she spoke to Crystal, which did not come up to speak with us to even honor this request, she just told Danielle to tell us that we could not get this for this price. Then another manager called, which I did not get the name of since Danielle declined to provide that to me, and they took quite some time to come to cosmetics. No one provided a solution for us that was satisfactory, therefore we left the store. Very unsatisfied with their customer service. read more

In February I'd both called and gone into the Lompoc Walmart regarding their prepaid Mastercard. I'd specifically asked if it could be used as a regular Credit Card since I was have Dental Work done in Mexico and didn't wish to take cash down with me. I was assured it could be used as a regular Credit Card the Dentist assured me he did take both Mastercard and Visa but not American Express which I have. i purchased the card and had loaded about $2000+ only to find out later it couldn't be used out of the Country. On calling an automated system I was assured by a Manager on Sunday 3/20/2016 he assured me I would be able to speak with a live agent Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Needless to say again at 9:30am tried calling the number for C/S only to get an automated response system not allowing me resolve issues with the card. They'd cancelled my card and said It could not be used and i have refunds coming to that Card? On the automated system similar to Green Dot which is why I cancelled that Card you can never speak with a live agent to assist you. So now I have a prepaid Card I'm unable to use and can no longer purchase another prepaid Card with Walmart again due to my entering a wrong prompt which I'd attempted to correct? I already hate Walmart. But I now hate this one even more. I avoid coming to Walmart at all costs but sometimes there are things that are worth getting here. I have never had someone request to put the shaving razors in a box as I leave the isle I got them on while fighting 3 other customers to get through the tiny opening of the "important" few isles being basically blocked off. Okay you make effort to have someone box up that valuable $8 razor I bought but there is still so many items in this store that are stealable that cost more and are not being put on lockdown like the $4 bar of soap that I also got that was required to be boxed before I leave the isle. Most of the checkout lines are now self checkout which means there is likely way more dishonest ppl checking themselves out and not scanning that item here or there. Great job Walmart you made it easier to steal with all the self checkouts, not to mention made it more difficult to checkout considering how much ppl will buy at this place to not have any employee to bag it for you. Very disappointed in the way this store has changed. Give back those jobs to the checkers and baggers and let them bag our stuff! As always I will continue to avoid this place at all costs, no more will I feel like I'm being treated like a thief. Go catch the real thieves rather then make it difficult and annoying to shop here because the store shrink won't be stollen items but instead will be lack of shoppers eventually. read more

Was there the other day and a woman who I later found out was a manager of some sort, interrupted me as I was asking an employee on the floor where an item was. The kind employee was explaining where the item was located in the store and the manager comes up and says to the employee" excuse me aren't you in the wrong area? Go to your department." IT WAS SO RUDE! I could not believe she talked to her employee like that in front of a customer, let alone talked to her like that at all. It was very uncomfortable and uncalled for. I had some issues with pharmacy passing incorrect information to my doctors office. I called the pharmacy and was treated rudely. I called the store manager and was treated rudely. I am going to call the State and ask for an inspection of the pharmacy because I think the mistakes can cause people harm. The store manager essentially told me that it was just my opinion and that they get lots of compliments. i find this hard to believe. e'll see how he feels when State inspectors come in. read more

Black Friday can be a hectic and chaotic time and today, it certainly was! After waiting in line for 4+ hours I walked away with my goodies. As I was on my way out I saw the mini iPad line with ZERO people in it. I approached three employees who were THE NICEST considering how exhausted they were for all they had been put through on Black Friday. This Walmart is by far the cleanest I've ever seen so it makes it easier to shop for things. Also, there are times during the weekend that I need help fining something since I'm new to Lompoc or I need to get into the liquor cabinet which they keep locked and I never find anyone. I literally go to the fabric area for help. When I do find help along the way to the fabrics, they call someone to help me and they never come. Very disappointing. Also, where is the pico de gallo at?? They only have one or two choose from at the produce area and when they are out or not stocked I guess I make my own which staying at home mom I just want to buy it made. Also, the self checkout ladies are rude and are always talking to their friends taking way to long to help us out. I look around and everyone needs help. Leaving the store, they have to check every receipt And I just don't have time for that specially if she has a long line waiting to go by. Other than that clean Walmart. Well i went in today to buy some last minutes snacks for my self, went to get in line to pay fine the check out in all went great, anyways normally from a certain time they close one side of doors and i am well aware of that but i wasn't sure at what time. So i was walking toward the the doors to see if i was able to get some movies from REDBOX but there was a lady out of nowhere that works obviously at Walmart and she told me " it's close" and i just turned around and told her " oh i just wanted to get some movies" and laugh but was walking toward the other side to go outside to my car and she was like "but its close" with her ugliest face not a single smile. My point is if you're gonna be working in customer service learn to smile no matter what if your life is sucks that is your problem not a customers problem.
