Staff is friendly, opens early at 6 which is perfect especially when working night shifts and just need to grab something quick before going to sleep. There are a lot of registers and even more self check outs - I opted for self checkout since I had a few items. When paying why is there no option for tap to pay? If I could give 0 I would. Tried to buy a shelving unit that was on sale for $12. When checking out it rang up for $14. Clearly a mistake. Had the girl price check and she claimed I took it from another spot. Would not honor the $12 price. Also tried to purchase some alcohol to restock my bar at home and NO ONE came to help. Giving this place 3 stars because they have good prices and decent self check out. DENOTING 2 due to a self check out clerk. Please keep in mind that this was about 1 year ago almost. I barely came into town, and I had my two boys and my husband along with me. My youngest son is autistic and had a dependency on our cellphones. Unfortunately, when we hit self-checkout, my phone died. My son did not agree to this and started crying. As much as the next person, we did not want to have a screaming child in a store full of a bunch of people trying to do the same thing we were doing. Checking out and leaving. Walked in, no greeting, don't really care. Straight to Liquor cabinet, all locked up, don't really care. Lady and kids waiting for awhile I guess, very annoyed. Kids, "should I ring the call button again mom?" She says, "no let's go this is ridiculous." I pushed the call button 5 times in 10 to 15 minutes, as I counted 11 employees walk by the isle. Guessing a manager showed up while talking on the walkie-talkie. No apology for wait, and no clue if the sale item was in back stock(scanner not working properly). Annoyed with me for asking. I asked for a lesser quality item. Annoyed she had to take to register 15. Tatted up baby gangster looking casher, hostility warned me, that only he could move the alcohol to another register. Even though I was already waiting in line there. If I want to spend $50.00-$100.00 and deal with such hostile annoyed people, I would've stayed in Los Angeles. Finnish with Walmart Superstores. It's an Average Walmart. Unfortunately the state of California is backwards and charges 10 cents per plastic bag. Which usually results in you not buying any because you have already purchased a thousand of them, but you forgot to put them in your car before you left the house. The Prices on items are pretty good. Definitely affordable options in the Great Value Brand. Produce isn't terrible. Better than a lot of places unless you go to a market. I haven't had any issues coming here. read more

This place is the pits The staff is so unprofessional especially in the self checkout department. The young girls that work there make you feel like you're stealing what a unpleasant place to shop especially when I'm spending a ton of money and it's paying their hourly wage. This has happened on many occasions The manager at this location is horrible he follows you around like you're a thief I'm a Air Force mama and I work hard and I don't need to be treated like this I'm here temporarily and just because I don't have my uniform on don't make it okay for the manager to follow me around Walmart and make me feel uncomfortable. If you order online and the item is from a third-party vendor, do not believe the return directions given by walmart.com. It is not true that you can return it at the Lompoc Walmart. After bringing my item to the store, I was told they will not process a return for it because they don't have the ability to print a label. I was told to go home, print out a return label, repackage the item myself, and take it to whichever shipper is designated on the label. So not only have I had to expose myself to covid-19 in line at Walmart, but now I have to shop for packaging materials and go to the shipper's facility as well. So much for reducing my risk by ordering online! Edit: The store manager called to tell me they have now fixed the problem by enabling a different printer. read more

Wow! This Walmart is so disappointing! They are regularly out of very basic things. The produce section is wiped out constantly. I don't understand how you can have over half a produce section completely gone on the regular. Frozen dairy is usually stalked decently, but common things like eggs, milk, butter - you grab what you can if there's anything left. Frozen isles look like a ghost town. Any clothing department is a joke and they usually have 1 checker and the line is out the whazoo. I won't be going here anymore, I just got home from a small grocery trip. I needed five things: 1. I was really surprised at the limited selection available in the store, particularly given that there's not really much competition. Had a difficult time finding some of the basic things that I would have found in my local Walmart. The selection didn't even seem as good as my Walmart neighborhood store and this is a full-size Walmart. For example, the water is really hard in Lompoc and they didn't have Equate Epsom salt. Or the Kashi cereal I eat. Or the True Lime stuff I mix in my water to drink. Seems like all of the grocery stores in this town carry almost the same things and all are somewhat limited in selection. read more

First of all, this Walmart has a grocery section-many including myself have chosen to purchase the majority of grocery items from this store. So that, along with several other reasons, is reason why there SHOULD NOT be so many self checkout lines! It makes a shopping trip twice as long. Stores need cashiers that bag purchases for customers. Self checkout is only helpful when buying a few items, such as toiletries and cosmetics. Of course now, I have to pay separately for those items as well. It's not my job as a customer to prevent theft. It's your job to serve the consumer or risk losing business. Also, the past few times I have bought any dairy item from this Walmart(Milk, Coffee Creamer)... It spoils! I put in right in my refrigerator, long before the expiration date, and the item is spoiled after 2-4 days in my refrigerator. I cannot buy dairy just to have it go bad and throw it out. Also I will purchase the same or similar item from Vons and that gallon of milk will indeed not spoil... You need to take a look at how you are storing your milk and dairy Lompoc Walmart. I used the Wal-Mart pay for the 1st time yesterday evening. As I was leaving the store Joe asked for my receipt. I told him that one did not print out because I used the Wal-Mart pay. Joe said well I need your receipt. I asked how can you locate on the app. He shrugged his shoulders and continued to ignore me and told me to find it. I asked for help and he refused to get me help. Several minutes later he told me to just go in a rude tone. New to Lompoc and couldn't find anything more convenient than having a local Walmart open 24/7. Been to this location at various hours and that is where my pros and cons occur. Pros would have to be the the huge selection no matter what you are looking for, hours of business, more than enough parking and good pace of service to where customers are not being held in line compared to other locations. Cons would have to be the the lack of staff for the night shift to assist with any questions and the low quantity of merchandise when it comes to the more popular products. read more

My husband who is Hispanic came here to buy baby socks and formula and two more items for our son. We are from LA and come to Lompoc often to visit our family. He used self check out to purchase everything. Before he was even able to enter his pin after inserting his visa, security was surrounding him accusing him of not scanning items and stealing. They checked his bag, saw everything in the bag was listed on the screen and let him pay. Had it not been our sons food we needed he wouldn't have even finished the transaction and just left all items there. Curious how he could be accused of not paying for all his items when he wasn't even given the opportunity to complete the transaction. Secruity had no reason to believe he was stealing when he was not walking away and didn't even have the bag of items in his hand. It was on the bag platform AS HE WAS PAYING. This isn't the first time he's been racially profiled here in Lompoc. People of color are everywhere guys! Get over it! We will never shop here again. I am disabled and have to use a handicapped cart to do my grocery shopping. Usually my daughter accompanies me on my monthly shopping as not everything will fit in the handicapped cart. This past payday she couldn't go with me. So I went to customer service to see if they had someone who could shop with me. Yes, they did and they sent over an associate to help me. Her name is Anna. I can't say enough good things about her and my shopping experience that day. She was so nice and so helpful. My shopping took us from one end of the store to the other and took 2 hours to complete. She would go back and get items I had forgotten. She got all the items off the shelves. She was extremely professional. It is obvious the Anna loves her job. Here at Walmart I need a Roku control for my t.v saw someone working on the electronics department ask about the Roku controls the lady said yes their over here and there in promotions for only $5.00 each I told her gave me 2 then. We got to the register price come up $43.10 said Oo there not in promotions anymore I said but you tags said $5.00 she said all give you %10 I said ok buy I only want 1 .. I stared explaining if that tags said $5.00 then there $5.00 she stared arguing and said you can shop an another store she said I told her your only employees I can shop here anywhere else. Talking with no stop told her give me my control I already paid por it she was talking and with my stuff on her hand the only ting that I want it to get out of the department as soon as I can . I hate this Wal-Mart. And I mean HATE. One employee that works here, I think she's French?, has been extremely rude to us on two or three separate occasions. But it's Wal-Mart, not like I'm expecting 5-star service here. Last time I was here, a few days ago, I asked an employee if I could get something out of a locked case, she said she'd call someone right over. I stood there for maybe....7 minutes. Got tired of waiting, so I left. The store wasn't busy at all, it was the middle of the afternoon on a weekday, so who knows what the heck was taking so long. Maybe she "forgot"? As I was walking out of the aisle, there was a GROUP of female employees standing around cackling. Thanks for your help! Though, I have to say their automotive center is fairly acceptable. I am considering driving to Santa Maria's Walmart because this Walmart just gets worse, if possible. I try to only go once a month to get everything I need...sure, I'm busy and like to be efficient but I do this because I hate shopping here! IF I forget something, I tend to pick it up for more money at a grocery store so I don't have to step foot in Walmart for another 30 days. Now that it's a Super Walmart, they've "kicked up" their bad customer service. I tend to see at least one supervisor walking around...neither of them have ever made eye contact, let alone smile or say anything. I miss checking out with the older ladies in the garden section. Everyone is so friendly here. I like that this location is less of a cluster $&@! than the location in Santa Maria. Self-check outs are plentiful and the customer service desk moves quickly. Note: that desk as well as the online order pick up are shut at 2200 hours. I've never had problems with the produce, but take the few extra seconds to make sure the meats are products of the USA. One time I went to get ground beef and the label said the beef was grounded from cows from USA, AUS, CAN, MEX, and NZ. Everyone is on friendly here completed to the location in Santa Maria and the car park is easier to navigate. read more
