Today I noticed a bunch of groceries from walmart in my courtyard, outside my front door. Thought - very odd, since I do not shop at Walmart and certainly didn't order. Tried calling Walmart and the phone just rang. I tried three local locations. As an aside, I used all of our lines and set them all on speaker and let 3 phones ring for 3 hours - no one ever answered, but I'm sure that each store appreciated my tenacity! I used the chat feature for Customer service and they said " Thank you for your honesty and you can keep the groceries." I said no, I do not want these groceries. It appears to be milk, eggs and meat products and according to my security cameras it had been sitting un-refrigerated for several hours. He said then just throw them away or donate them. I said no. I am old and you need to come and pick these up. I didn't order them and I want them off my property. He said Walmart doesn't do it that way. I said then Walmart has an ADA issue and a soon to be ADA lawsuit coming their way. He said "The store is sending someone to pick them up." I asked "do you want my address?" He replied "no we have that" I said okay what address is it that you have and he read off an adress that wasn't mine. I said is that where you should have delivered these groceries? He said "yes, I guess." So I gave him my address so they could come and pick them up. Now let's see if they ever show up! I realize good help is hard to find but.......Come on Walmart!!! read more

For last 5 days I been trying to purchase a bike tube 12.5 inches I would start by calling the store wait on the phone for 5 mins then do it all over again in every department I did that for 5 days they never answer the phone once I would then go to the start go the bike section see that there is no bike tube in that size I wouldn't be frustrated although the website says they are in stock so I push the can we help you button wait 10 mins for them to tell me that we do have them there being delivered they should be there by tomorrow morning so I would show up every day for the next 4 days have 4 different interactions with different employees they all told me the same phrase word for word it wouldn't have bothered as much but the things they never went to bike section there was the same trash every single day epthy boxes around the area and stuff misplaced just PLEASE ANSWER YOUR PHONE I now going for my 6th straight day in a row wish me luck update soon... My daughter went shopping at this Indio location. She paid for her groceries and forgot 1 bag. She called the store within an hour when she realized she forgot it. The way customer service handled the situation was unbelievably ridiculously! Even with having her receipt they said she had to go in the next day so they can view the cameras. Wow!!! I understand locking up most of the electronic section to help prevent shop lifters however at least give your customers a button to press to get help instead of having them to all around the store trying to find an associate. or maybe have an associate I don't know stationed there to help customers since everything is locked up. read more

They have no checkers anymore! You must use self serve check out, it takes longer and I'm sure theft will increase. I talked to an employee and asked why all the checkers ar gone, she said they don't want to work for the wages and benefits, it's not competitive. The moment I found out my dad passed I was at work on the night shift. My emotions hadn't caught up with me yet, I was still processing everything. After work, I had to stop by walmart in Indio, CA in the morning to pick up things.  As I walked in, every single employee that walked by me made no eye contact or if they did, no "hello, good morning, how are you?" More than a dozen if not more. But then there was Antonio. Antonio was up on a ladder stocking cereal.  Antonio stopped stocking and made it a priority to check on me and said "good morning" with a huge smile and asked me, "is there anything I need or can help me with?" I said no thank you and thank you so much for asking. Now I know some of you think that is just basic customer service, but when every single employee you pass sees you as this invisible person, and a simple phrase of a greeting from Antonio, made me feel like what I was going through mattered enough to be visible to him. As I rolled my cart away, I stopped. I turned back around and walked up to Antonio and said, "I just want you to know my dad passed away a few hours ago and the fact that you spoke to me, even if it was a simple good morning with your smile is something I needed."  Antonio climbed down ladder, extended his arms and grabbed me and hugged me. My heart melted. He said whenever you're in the store and I see you I'm gonna give you a huge hug. He said be strong and I'm so sorry for your loss. I hadn't really cried yet, not up to that point even. But my heart felt warm. As I made my way to self- check out, I asked one of the helpers that I needed to speak to a manager. The manager Erica came out. I said, "Erica, I just wanted to let you know that even a simple good morning or asking a customer if there is anything you need help with, really goes a long way. I told her I'm mentioning this because I didn't get greeted by one single person, but then I ran into Antonio. I lost my dad a few hours ago and for Antonio to simply greet me, ask how my morning is going, telling him about my loss and him hugging me really melted my heart. You never know what a person is going through and I just wanted to let you know Antonio touched my heart in my time of sorrow. And I started crying and Erica hugged me and told me she is so sorry and she is really pleased that Antonio is what her store is suppose to represent. As I was walking out the store I heard Erica call Antonio on the intercom to the front.  I'm not sure the gratitude and praise he got relayed to him but Erica was proud of the kid, I know that much.  I'm sure the next store meeting would be to acknowledge customers and a prime example would be from my experience.  For me that wasn't enough.  When I got home I was swamped in planning my dad's funeral arrangements and papers I had to sign and meetings with the funeral home I had to do. However, in between that, I made it a point to call corporate Walmart to extend their gratitude and they should have recognition from a shopper.  The person I was on the phone with corporate was crying with me when I broke down about my experience because they too had lost a loved one month ago.  I still have alot going on but on this earth we have beautiful souls who have tremendous hearts and positive energy that transfers to you and employees  should be acknowledged.  Thank you Antonio and also the manager Erika/Erica. Antonio, you're a special kid, with a huge heart of kindness. Thank you for not just seeing me as a shopper but seeing me through the eyes of one human being who is in sorrow and asking "if I'm ok" triggering my gratefulness to you. Very disappointed with Indio's new Walmart Supercenter. Expected it to be bigger & better than the old La Quinta WM. This store has a smaller selection of frozen foods & no sugar free baked items. Also has only a few electric wheelchairs for shoppers to use. This store isn't even set up to add more handicapped shopping carts to plug them in! This is unthinkable in this day n age of ADA & disabled access to public places. Prices seem a bit higher than LQ also. We also wish it were a 24 hour store. We get there at 6am & there is no one around to help out, lights are off in many sections, we felt rather vulnerable in the pet section & other areas w no helpers around. No security around where as at the LQ store We see the security men drive around all the time. read more

Warning: if you want to spend money at this store, they could care less even if you are a WILLING customer. Seriously, just turn around. After hours of jumping from store to store, tired and willing to spend over $300 on a TV my husband and I settled on Walmart, Indio since they had a good value for a specific TV we wanted. Also note: we're from Yucca Valley. Went straight to the TV section and found the one we wanted. When we tried to get the TV advertised, we were told we couldn't get it since it was a display and had to get the manager's permission. So call the manager I guess? Make a sale or something? Nope. Okay maybe you don't want to disturb the manager on their off time I get it. Well do they have it in Yucca Valley? I am not lying to you this was the sales associate's response: I DON'T EVEN KNOW THEIR NUMBER. Excuse me??? There's a thing called Google. GOOGLE it! You've got to be kidding me. I guess big companies no longer train their employees to use common sense or have any take on customer service. Seriously disappointed and let down. I rushed to pick them up was there in 10 minutes. When I arrived they said they were closed. I said well you gave my groceries inside. They said yes we do but we close at 8. I visited the Walmart in Indio, CA last night and I was beyond disgusted at the customer service at the store. I was in the crafts and seeing department. The associate was helping someone else so I waited. I waited about 15 mins with NO acknowledgement from her. The associate, Guadalupe (we were there around 7:00pm PST) did not bother to awknowledge me at all. After she finished with the customer, which she had no communication with either, she walked away without helping me. I even said "excuse me" while she proceeded to walk away. I could not believe it. And I am 7 months pregnant so it is VERY hard to miss me. You guys need to start hiring people who care! I will never go back again and I will make sure my family and friends do not either. I left my small purse in the seat section of my shopping cart June Friday the 13th in the parking lot where you place empty carts at the Indio Walmart. I didn't realize I had not put it in the car until I had arrived home and put my groceries away. Although the purse did not contain a large amount of cash it did have a very important document along with credit, debit cards, driver license and gift cards. A HUGE thank you to Christopher Cross who was the young man who employed by Walmart was doing his job and bringing carts back into the store found my purse and turned it into Walmart security. The chance of getting my valuables back IMO would have been much less if it had not been an employee. In addition a young man who has morals and ethics. Now I never ever ever go to Walmart but my boyfriend highly suggested I give it a try. This Walmart just opened up a few months ago. I walked into Walmart expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised that I did not run into the typical "People of Walmart". The staff was helpful and pointed me to exactly where I needed to go. I went on Black Friday and to my surprise it wasn't crazy busy. I didn't go for any black Friday deals but rather for some household items. I was in and out of Walmart in 15 minutes with the items that I needed and I felt what a bargain I got! I know this bargain comes at a high cost of mom & pop shops losing business and/or third world countries making these items dirt cheap for us Americans but I guess it was worth a try. I won't stray from my loyalty to Target but shopping at Walmart wasn't too bad. read more

*** Pit stop review (Indio) *** This is a Walmart Supercenter. This place is huge! It is truly a one-stop-shopping experience. There's a grocery section as well. I made a quick stop to avoid the traffic going home. Just did a little walking up and down the isles to burn some time and pick up some some miscellaneous household stuff. Did some browsing for dash cams. Here's what I liked... * I love the open space in this store. The isles are extra wide so you're not bumping into another person trying to pass by someone. * The parking lot has so much open parking! * It's located very close to the off-ramp of the freeway. You only have to travel a block. The store is visible from the freeway. * The store patrons and the employees are so laid-back and friendly. I can feel the difference that I'm totally having a stress free shopping experience. This must be how small town living is. It's actually very nice! I have shopped at Wal Mart for years, and understand how many people shop there also. They have installed new self check out and it is a nightmare, what happened to customer service. If you want to buy any alcohal beverages you have to go to a special check out and it is in the isle to enter the circle of self check out stands, people are struggling to shuffle carts for people to get in and out of the area. Walmart exists almost everywhere - except for NYC. When I am out of state, most of my shopping goes through walmart. They are very cheap and have many selections ranging from food to home care to electronic and more. There is always a clearance aisle and hubs snags all the good electronic deals from there. Walmart price matches as well which is a plus because when food is needed, Walmart is the closest location but sometimes they may not always be the cheapest. Make sure to bring in the booklets of food from other stores because they do not do mobile price match. Cashiers are not too friendly, bleh. Doesn't matter, as long as they know what they are doing. The restrooms are clean so if in a dire need of using the lavatory, stop by. The gallons of water to refill is very conveniently placed and easy to access. read more

I wouldn't normally write about these type of shopping experiences, but because of how great service was today I feel that it should not go unnoticed. Today I walked into Walmart looking for some swim wear and My Girlfriend and I found an employee who looked to be coming off break or just starting break, anyways she stopped everything to help my gf and I with such care and kindness. It turned out that the employee happened to by one of the managers (Cindee). Walmart should be proud to have her part of the management team. She went above and beyond to exceed our needs ands expectations and that's what customer service should be all about. Thank you for making our day. read more

This is my first time posting a review. I am so annoyed by the customer service that I wanted to get home as soon as possible, take a deep breath and post a review. I would give 0 stars if I could. Worst customer service I have ever received in my life. I needed help with finding an Aisle. I approached an "employee" and asked her "Can you please show me where is the Aisle A20?" All she replied was, "I don't know, I am new here." That's all she replied without trying helping me. Then I found another employee who was also an "employee" there. I asked her and all she replied was, "Habla Espanol?" I understood her question, but since I don't speak Spanish, I replied "no." Then I asked her , "You don't speak English? She started staring at me wondering, "Does she even have to speak English?" Okay, we live in the United States and we all have to know basic English at least. Today was different :-), this tall older gentleman they have as a greeter is not very friendly on your way in:( not once has he acknowledged me as I walk in or out!. Today was no exception. What bothers me is that he chooses who he acknowledges and it's very clear. Then waited in line for another 15 minutes in the Pharmacy just to see if they carried a product. Now waiting in a LONG line to check out .looks like another 15 min.or MORE. employees don't seem very happy. . More employees walking around then working. I am at a loss of words for Walmart and this location after my recent experience. My 9 year old daughter saved her own money to purchase a hover board, and instead of doing the easy thing and just buying it from Amazon, I decided to take her to Walmart as it was just down the street and I wanted to support local job security. She found a hoverboard that adored however there were no price tags, so I proceeded to check their website on my phone for pricing. $148, perfect, she had just enough, however upon checking out it rang up at $198... as I explained it was only $148 online the store employees proceeded to explain to me that they don't match pricing FROM THEIR OWN WEBSITE!!! I urged my wife at this point to just get it from Amazon, but she still gave Walmart a chance and did the free 2 day site to store. 2 days later, my 9 year old daughter anxious and excited we check the status of the hoverboard and it said "in process" but that it was currently scanned in at the store. It wasn't till 6:30p.m. That we finally got an email stating the order was delayed! We called the store and they claim they haven't received it, we called Walmart online and they claim it's at the store... well which is it wallmart? Is the thing stuck in limbo or what? Thankfully we decided to just request a refund and I will be going to Amazon like I should have in the first place! I hate to see one corporation explode like Amazon has but Walmart deserves to go bankrupt like they will after playing games like this with their customers. read more

i was in the Walmart on Ave. 42 this morning and I have to say it's bad enough that there don't seem to be enough checkers these days at Walmart but I had already been waiting a long time in line because only 1 checker was working on checkstand 1. Then a guy got in line behind me, had more in his cart than I did and didn't wait but only 2 minutes , when checkstand 2 opened and he swooped over there ! That checker could clearly see me and did not bother to say next person in line!!!! Clearly no common sense and no common courtesy!!!!! You have a door man checking receipts looked at it for over 5 minutes I had 15 items on the thing and he couldn't locate a purchase. After coming here for pick up online since it was introduced I never had anything to complain about. After today I see why those store has such low reviews. I found my items pretty fast but I really didn't get any help from associates 1. Because there wasn't any and 2. The ones that I did speak to were unhelpful and rude. I was at self checkout after grabbing my few items I had and forgotten to scan an item. After I went up to the cashier person who watches over self checkout and explained that i needed to purchase one item. She tells me I had to wait for another register and I asked if she could help me at her register that she was standing at. She respondes with a no and tela me I had to wait or go to the other lines. I was shocked to hear her say those words because I only had the one item and she was being lazy not being able to to help me when all she was doing was standing there. I asked to speak to a manager and she said she couldn't call one from phone because it wasn't connected, but I know that supervisors have little devices that tells them a cashier needs help and told her to call for someone that way. She mention that she can't do that and that need to go to a different register. I asked again to speak to someone and she called over a guy named Gary who said the exact same thing to me, but to top it all off Gary lied to me and said he was the manager and Melissa the cashier just ignored me after I told Gary that I wanted to speak to the manager. I stood waiting for some men to responde but no one came so I left my one item at the register and left. This will be the last time I will ever use pick up today at this location and as far as shopping for grocery I rather go to Winco now! I can't believe that Walmart hires people who impersonate being a manger and cashier who ignore their customers. The store manager Benny should have a talk with these associate and Ryan the Regional should audit this store ASAP!!! Also after I left I attempted to call to speak to a manager but phone only rang no associate answered so I had to send a email to their corporate office about this visit I had.
