    Apple Pie. Nov, 2025.
    Laura S.

Nov, 2025. Day before Thanksgiving, Palm Desert, CA. We're traveling, and had been invited for a big Thanksgiving dinner at a relative's where we anticipate about 15 people. If at home, I would've made some pies to take to the get-together. Here, it would've been just too difficult from our condo room. So, we headed to the closest Costco, anticipating that they'd have pies. And, boy did they! Tables and tables of pumpkin, apple, and pecan pies, with fresh ones being carried out regularly to replace those flying from the displays. We picked up both an apple pie ($12.99) and a pumpkin one ($5.99). In both cases, they're huge, with the apple one weighing in at 4 lb. 12 oz (76 oz) and the pumpkin at 3 lb, 10 oz (58 oz). We haven't tasted them yet, but we know from past experience that Costco pies are delicious and are a very good value given their huge size. Virtually every customer checking out had pie(s) in their carts! We had one additional, interesting experience at this Costco. Upon entering the store, and later in the aisles, we saw a guy with an official Costco sign trying to find that one special customer who wanted to buy a single bottle, only one available, of a Scottish alcohol (scotch, perhaps?) for $74,995. This is not a typo, almost seventy-five thousand dollars, for one bottle of alcohol! As we passed the man in an aisle, he called out to us that the alcohol would go perfectly with our apple pie! LOL. We spoke to him, and he confirmed that the bottle was on-site, under lock and key, and ready for immediate purchase. Alas, we had to pass. Costco was very busy, but the check-out lines moved quickly and staff were friendly.

$4.90 / gallon A line of 10 cars for each island. 10 minutes wait. Not bad. The Attendants help travelers figure it out!

Great prices, GAS prices too! We bought bird seed. The wild birds sing, we feed 'em. A good bargain- Thanks for the great prices on bird seed. Never expected that! and Thx for Mocha Freezes.

SHORTEST lines for gas ever. We stopped for gas while in the desert before heading back. This is the first costco gas station with the shortest lines. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Prices were not higher which was a nice surprise. Such a pretty area.

Oh boy. The whole idea of this place needs revamping. Guards @ the exits after one just paid a lot of money under camera under the Cahier. Any research why we are tx like this. Even the normal box stores nor grocery stores treat thr customers like this. Left start with safety of this place. Old seniors like me Come here and no true safety walkways. Best place to visit @ 8 pm. !!!! Please train ur guards @ the exits. Like cashiers @ grocery stores. Or open up a new Costco @ the north end of PSP! So the major issue is that Costco tracks our purchasing, via monitoring as well cameras ! And in the case today. I was pre card scanned. Then the Cahier triple checked as well I paid. This leads to a very unpleasant Whitestone situation ! W the added insult of the guard checking me for the 4 th time.

Got these last time they were on sale, the cookie dough slaps

If I have a choice between the La Quinta location, and this one, I will most likely choose this one. While considerably more busy during the day, just wait until the last few hours or after dark and the warehouse clears out. It's no secret that this area has a lot of the retired community who prefer to only shop during daytime so I take full advantage of this. Compared to the La Quinta store this one carries more healthy options as well as Asian flavors. Overall, if you've been to one Costco, you've been to most of them the only thing that changes our regional items and the people shopping at them. I frequent this one often enough, whether for gas , a cheap hot dog, or bathroom essentials.

Think Sprouts or Whole Foods but 2x on the variety and supplements. This store is extremely organized and well labeled. Being my first time I initially thought it would be a bit overwhelming to navigate this store but their isle layout and big signs made shopping much easier than I anticipated. Also the staff were available and helpful! This is always a big plus when staff can be found stocking shelves and are willing to make eye contact to help you lol. They have a large dry goods section with sauces, Pastas, chips, drinks and spices. Also their wellness isles with protein powders, supplements and health foods is bigger than anywhere I've ever seen. I'd say their only sections that weren't super big were their meat counter but that seemed reasonable to me. You are really coming here to get more unique items and brands that some big retailers just aren't carrying yet. I found some Wasa crisp bread crackers here that have been hard for me to find lately so that was a nice surprise. Again, really impressed with their staff and customer service. 5 stars for willingness to help and also having adequate staffing to support multiple customers at once. Checking out at the register was a breeze and they have an ample parking lot. When I come down to the desert I'll definitely be stocking up on dry goodies here.

There's an electric section there's a shoe section there's a furniture section. There is a tools and fix it section some people are saying that the Help is not very Helpful. I did not go into Habitat 4 Humanity for a coffee and danish with the people who work there, but I see what you mean there's one lady there. I don't know her name just stay clear her there are two men that I find work there and they are very nice. I have found a couch there that was super clean and made by this famous furniture person when I looked it up on the Internet these couches go for over $6000 and it looked like it was in perfect condition. I also bought a dresser there. I will post a picture of it. That is also in good condition and the price was right. There's a different color each week and there's 50% off of whatever color that is I find it hard when they are putting out a new color there aren't many things with that color so I agree with one of the other Reviews but every time that I have gone there, I end up with a few things and it doesn't cost me that much in the back is the pick up for furniture and drop off for your donations. They also have a number to call if you want them to pick it up from your house for free. It has to be in pretty good condition though. They also have a deal where for $75 they will deliver it three different items but you're not guaranteed when they will deliver. Habitat 4 Humanity does wonderful work and so I don't mind if they're a bit standoffish. They are much less expensive than Goodwill, which is now like a boutique and very pricey for the same things they used to sell for a dollar. But that's another review. Habitat 4 Humanity is a great store with there all the time and as I said get there early so you can get first dibs at the new stuff that arrived the day before it's a fun place to find bargains so go in there with no expectations. I know have a great time.

They used to be much more reasonable, so it's a bit disappointing to see the change.
