I go to this gas station a lot because 1. I drive past it M-F (10x a week) 2. cheapest gas 3. not crazy busy when I need gas (fortunately) I don't know what has been going on in the gas world, but as of late (12/28/2017), the gas has been relatively low, $2.69 and then it went back up to $2.79 (regular unleaded gas) I would give this gas station a higher rating except their card readers do not work all the time. Like every now and then, the card readers will decide to stop working (on like allllll the pumps) and you have to go inside and pay with card or cash (which isn't like terribly, but definitely inconvenient). And when the card reader does work at the pump, it doesn't always give you a receipt when you ask (it's out of paper like too often). Other than that, it's I think a clean gas station, I've never really looked at the convenience store or used their bathroom. But, it's a relatively good gas station. Prices are always cheaper than its competitor across the street (I can't remember the name, but the gas station by Goody's).

Monsters!

What kinds of things do you want while on a road trip? Cheap gas, clean bathrooms, and tons of snacks! Can't believe I'm reviewing a gas station, but this place was too good to be true. Gas was 40 cents cheaper here than all the surrounding stations, it was only $3.10 on Aug 23, 2018! Their bathroom is giant and one of the cleanest gas station bathrooms I've ever been in. Not only that but they had SOOO many snacks!! Healthy snacks, junk food, hot drinks, cold drinks, you name it they got it! Just remember you can't use your credit card here.

They need to have a better debit system.

First time visiting Palm Desert and my wife had a random non-negotiable craving: fried chicken…read more After some Reddit digging, Towers Market kept popping up. I'll be honest--gas station food usually lives somewhere in my college survival era memories, so I was skeptical... but I'm always open to try something new. Right when we walked in, we were greeted warmly and treated with genuine friendliness and respect, which already set a good tone. Just to be clear, I'm writing this review purely based on the fried chicken and the service related to getting it. I didn't come for gas or anything else, so please keep that in mind. Now let's talk chicken. 5/5 -- no hesitation. We ordered the chicken strips along with wings and drumsticks, and wow. Super crispy, well-seasoned, and flavorful all the way through. Honestly? It rivaled Raising Cane's, which feels wild to say about a gas station--but here we are. Reddit did not steer us wrong. Most importantly, it absolutely satisfied my wife's fried chicken itch, and that alone makes this stop a win. Bonus points because my 9 month old daughter seemed to love it as well!! Unexpected, impressive, and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and craving fried chicken. Would I come back? Without question.

I also work in customer…read moreservice as a waiter, so I know that there are days when it is very difficult to deal with difficult customers. This gas station in Palm Desert--the Tower Market located on Highway 111--used to be one of the stations closest to my home. Consequently, it was perfectly convenient for filling up my work truck, grabbing my fresh coffee, and picking up the burritos or sandwiches they had been offering lately. However, I have repeatedly encountered a sarcastic attitude from the manager whenever I ask about food items that have run out and want to know if they will be making more. In fact, I have even called ahead of time to order burgers or pastrami sandwiches, but it seems like they always get annoyed when I ask for those specific items. Furthermore, when the line gets too long early in the morning, there is invariably only one cashier working--even though you can see the manager sitting right next to the computers, right beside that sole cashier. It stands to reason that if there are more than 5 or 7 people waiting in line to pay, she should step in to help them. As a result, by the time you finally get to the front to pay, the cashier is already in an authoritarian and rude mood. They definitely need to take a closer look at the employees at this gas station and provide them with proper training on how to serve customers; after all, we are the ones spending our money there, and we deserve at least a little bit of empathy and a friendly greeting. In conclusion, I have stopped going to this gas station and will be returning to the Sinclair station located just two blocks away, where the customer service is much better!I

Always clean, organized and not so crowded compared to other locations…read more I asked Amy for some very reasonable assistance at the self-checkout tonight and sadly she was extremely dismissive, a bit rude and kinda stormed off without helping me. Luckily Ray stepped up and was more than happy to assist with grabbing me a box while my hands were full. His customer service definitely made up for Amy's lack of. Hopefully management keeps this in mind when considering promotions. :)

Stopped by this Costco in Palm Desert to fill up on gas, and go inside (if not too crowded). Found…read moreit to be so less crowded than our neighborhood SoCal ones. Gas has reached over $6 a gallon now, so actively looked for a Costco while traveling from Palm Desert to Joshua Tree. The entrance to the gas station is not meant for high volume, with the eight lanes (4 islands, 2 pumps each so no need for parallel parking in a middle spot) having space for 3 individual cars behind. Once those fill up, there is no space except to go out to the street. Price was significantly less than the surrounding stations, and the paying/pumping was exactly the same as every other Costco (one tap if you have the Citi Costco card). We did go inside the Costco, with the mandatory membership card tap to enter. Once we got our few items, lines weren't too bad with additional checkers using hand held scanners to individually scan each item in the cart, eliminating need to have to put any items on the conveyor. It does make it faster...it's not Amazon Fresh that needs the RFID 'scan the whole cart at once' technology, but Costco. The food court is inside and wasn't too crowded, and would have stopped if we didn't have other plans. The $1.50 hot dog/drink special always tempts me.

If you're going east, don't make a right out of Shelee's because Google maps will have you take the 10 west and flip you back around. Now that we know that, we'll probably stop by this exit again during our road trips out of CA. The facilities are really clean and they have a gourmet coffee shop inside. I loved my mocha latte!

Glad that I stopped to fill up!…read more From the outside, this travel center doesn't look particularly grand, but stepping inside is a totally different story--it's surprisingly spacious, clean, and upscale for a gas station. The pumps are well-spaced, so fueling up is stress-free and never congested. Inside, the store is a delight: an awesome selection of candy, snacks, fresh coffee, and even gadgets and clothing you don't usually see on the road. Everything is organized perfectly, making browsing a joy. The service is just as impressive. Danary, the cashier, was fantastic--friendly, welcoming, and full of genuine compliments, which was especially appreciated since I felt like a total hot mess that day. Her energy made the visit feel personal and memorable. The coffee shop/ snack restaurant inside added an extra layer of comfort, making this stop not just convenient for fuel, but a place to grab a bite or a coffee and recharge before hitting the road again. Side note: I had no idea that Coachella was also a city and for years, thought that it was the name of the event. Embarrassing (In my Drake voice) ‍ ‍ Definitely stop here to fill up!

I was told no appointments are needed, and they perform smogs until at least 4:00 pm. I arrived at 2:20 pm, and when I checked in, I realized I had left the renewal paperwork at home. I told Rudy I would write down the VIN number and license number legibly so he could fill out his paperwork. He then proceeded to inform me that it was not his job to read my writing. After I laughed, he said We stopped doing smogs at 2:00 pm today anyway. When you come back, make sure you don't screw up again and not bring the paperwork. He must have been the bully at his high school (assuming he went), because I have seen him give off that vibe multiple times to men. Needless to say, but I would rather light myself on fire than ever deal with him again. Plus, their coupon is a scam as well. If they write your name down before you show them the coupon, it is not valid. WTF!?!? I will give one of my associates the task of verifying whether this is even legal

Rudy answered my call and informed me that I didn't need an appointment since they start smog checks at 1 pm. However, when I arrived at 1 pm and inquired about the wait, he rudely told me that they actually start smog checks at 3 pm due to other priorities. I was disappointed because I had called ahead and made a special trip to the shop. I politely asked if there was another smog check station nearby, and he just said no. I don't recommend this place - it's a hassle you'd rather avoid."
