Took my car here for some simple maintenance, which was done at a fair price. This week my car broke down, so I had it towed back to them. After holding it for three days, Vince told me he couldn't figure it out and "doesn't work on valves." This is the same guy who repeatedly mentioned having 45 years of experience and working on Hondas with over 400k Instead of fixing it, he told me to go to the dealer for a $1300 repair he wouldn't or couldn't do--and then charged me $350 for diagnostic time. Imagine being told, "I can't fix it, but you still owe me $350." I feel cheated, because I never said not to do the work--I would have let him fix it. I basically paid $350 for his lack of knowledge. For som eone claiming decades of experience, a basic Honda V6 shouldn't be "too complex." Save yourself the headache, time, and money. If it's not just an oil change or something simple, go straight to a dealer or a shop with trained techs. Thats exactly what I paid 350 for so just start at the dealer. read more

I'm happy to recommend highly this fine gas station and auto repair shop. To a person, the employees are intelligent, pleasant, and hard working. The owner is communicative and very accessible. When it turned out the work on my car was going to take a significant amount of time, the owner immediately offered a lift back to my home. When my job was complete, I reported that I'd ride my bike over and pick up the car. The owner immediately said, "Please don't ride your bike over, it's far too hot to be riding on these streets. Let me come get you." I ask you, how long has it been since you were treated like that by the manager of a busy auto shop? I can't say enough good things about this unassuming operation. It's conveniently located on Washington Street, and there's a Carl's Junior next door in case you're going to wait. But if you have some place you need to be, the manager will see to it that you get a lift to your appointment, or back to your house. And the same assistance is offered on the return trip to pick up your newly repaired vehicle. I can't adequately describe my appreciation for the concern for my car, the concern to deliver excellent repair service, and the concern for my comfort on a blistering hot August day. I strongly recommend this shop for all the reasons listed above. And enjoy a cup of coffee at the Carl's Jr. next door, while you're at it. read more

NEVER take your car to a smog station that also operates as a mechanic shop. When the car fails smog test a smog check only shop reports to DMV that it failed. But if the place also operates as a mechanic shop they report negative things about the condition of your car to DMV and that makes it a lot harder & more expensive to pass smog inspection. This place reported negative things about the condition of my car to DMV when it wasn't necessary. All they had to report was that it failed. BUYER BEWARE! read more

I took my car in for a Smog Check. Spoke to Vince. He told me it would take approximately 20 minutes and I was ok with that. After approx. 20 minutes, he came and advised me that he wouldn't be able to do the smog check, due to some broken hoses under the hood. I asked where those hoses lead to and how much it would be to fix. He wasn't able to tell me. He said he'd give me a call later. Never did. When my husband got home from work, I told him what had happened. He was puzzled. He went to take a look under the hood and said that those broken hoses had to have been done there. He had checked my oil the day before and those loose hoses were NOT like that the day before. The car had not been driven till I took it to them. Why did it take them 20 minutes to come and let me know?? If as soon as you pop the hood open, that's the first thing you see??? I called Vince to tell him what my husband had said and he was VERY RUDE and said he wasn't going to pay for the repairs. I wasn't asking him to pay for the repairs, I did want him to know that they did what was now wrong with my car. I guess they saw a woman and thought we can do whatever we want and she won't know the difference. I didn't see them doing this but, the fact that he never called me back says a lot! read more

DO NOT buy them, They are NAPA batteries and Country Club Carts and Jon will say they are the best I was told they last 3 years plus. Call any golf cart company and they will tell you they are poor quality. Jon, Cameron, and Country Club Carts are a fraud, they sell you NAPA because they own the local Napa store. Country Club Carts is a rip off, so I'm sure Jon's mechanic business and smog business are the same. read more

At the intersection of Washington Street and Country Club close to the 10 freeway. It's right next to the Carl's Jr. and Subway. I don't know why I always forget to check into this place. As gas stations go it's clean, and it smells good in the tiny store area. It's your typical Union 76. We often stop for gas as it's just before the 10 freeway when I notice we need gas. Every couple of years or so we bring our cars here to be SMOGGED because they are really QUICK. I usually call first to make sure they're not too busy. They'll tell me to come after 12:30 when their guy gets back from lunch. I drop off the keys and within 20 minutes I'm good to go. Also in the center is a Juicy Juicy, Da Chef Noodle, Teddy's donuts, and Joe's Sushi so killing time is no problem. There's a lot of choices in this place. read more

Two reasons to support this business. 1. Vince and Josh quoted an hour to install a rear view mirror camera. It took three hours. They charged just one hour (as quoted) and refused my repeated offers to pay more. Wow. 2. And I had a battery cable clamp that had corroded. Kia quoted a stunning $1800 for JUST the part. Yesterday morning the battery was dead on my truck. I called around, and was so pleased when the guys at the Union 76 told me that they could help. They told me to be there in 30 minutes, and they would install the battery. I arrived and they got me right in. Yeah, I don't know what this guy is talking about, but I got referred by a good friend of mine well 3 friends, and they have been taking their cars for about 5, 6, years and they love them. I took my vehicle in to get a smog. I was told that my vehicle did not pass smog because of a circuit board failure and that it would cost me $250 to fix it. I paid the smog fee plus diagnostic fee to find out which costed me $90. something didn't seem right so I chose to get a second opinion so I took my vehicle to a different location and my vehicle passed with flying colors and costing me $40. So feeling as if they were trying to rip me off for something I didn't need. read more

Got my alternator fixed in about an hour n some change. They were nice, even helped me to bring my car since it needed a jump and wasn't too far. Their service has a one year warranty. I would definitely come back again! It's not cheap but at least u have a warranty to give u peace of mind and like I said in my case it was a Tuesday and service was so fast. read more

True, what the previous comment stated about communication. Compared to a chain / franchise place where they have training for such things probably. However, they are honest, and cheaper, friendly, and easy to work with if you take the communication initiative and be proactive by asking the questions you need to know answers to on your own. The owner works with me for things such as paying my bill next week, trusting me to come back. Or paying for a tow once when I had no money on me. They have gotten some work wrong before where I had to return but it was taken care of appropriately. Besides - I have had bad work done at major auto shops too. I think if you are looking for good coffee in the waiting room, a published price, go elsewhere. But if you want to save a few bucks and have a job done by experienced mechanics rather than risk having a rookie do your work, then come see Johnathan at this service station. read more

I was visiting from Orange County when my check engine light came on. I drove back to where I was staying and the next Saturday morning I called a service station about a mile away from where I was to see if they could work me in. I was a bit uneasy about what might happen because I knew nothing about the quality of work or honesty of any of the stations in the area. Given that I was from out of the area the owner said he would get on it right away while I waited. He told me up front about the electronic diagnostic fee and once they identified the problem told me what it would cost and that they could order the part and have it fixed in about an hour. The whole process took about and hour and a half and was done at what I considered a reasonable cost. While I was waiting an elderly woman came in as said she wanted an oil change. Jonathan, the owner, checked her record and said based on the mileage she didn't need one yet. She said that she wanted it done anyway because it had been almost a year since her last change. I was impressed with his honesty and concern for his customer. Because of his honesty, level of customer service and quality of work I'd call this a 5 star station. read more
