It was a higher price than other stations in the area, but I don't mind paying for convenience. Sure, this establishment is just a gas station. But... it's one with a smidgen of charm. It seems like the proprietors care about it, as evidenced by their restroom. No, the fixtures are not devoid of etched-in graffiti, but the restroom is kept clean, it smells nice, and the owners have gone as far as hanging up art on the wall. Nice touch. read more

Were not a happy patron anymore using VALERO GAS STATION IN DHS. Hubby went in and got me a scratch off. We went home and I scratched a $2 ticket and it said I won $3. So we took it back to the VALERO GAS STATION to cash it in and they refused. Yesterday we tried to cash it and was told that the bar code was not able to be read. (Mind you it was scratched off by the worker since I forgot to do it) Then when Lance said just punch in the code that is why it is there in case you cannot get it to take the bar code. The employee said he was not allowed to use that feature and to take it to another establishment to cash it. Well today on the way to the Fundraiser car wash we stopped to gas up at VALERO. and hubby took other tickets that were winners and there was a different employee at the counter. It was explained and the guy said it is no issue to punch in the code number. But our winning ticket kept coming up as an invalid ticket and even though we purchased it from THE VALERO GAS STATION they refused to cash it. He said we were just out the money. I said I would not have purchased that ticket had I known that if I won that it would not be able to be validated. I requested a business card from VALERO AND IT WAS REFUSED TO ME. I asked if there name was on top of the receipts and they said yes. So I made a purchase of something cheap on the counter and then guy says to me if you get 2 of those you get a discount. I WAS PISSED. I SAID I DIDN'T WANT TO PURCHASE ANYTHING BUT I WAS FORCED TO JUST TO GET THE INFO I NEEDED. Tomorrow Lance is called the Lottery state board and filling a complaint that if a establishment is being allowed to sell tickets that are winners but claiming that it is invalid to cash them is FRAUD. I will move forward in any way we need to so that this ESTABLISHMENT WON'T BE ALLOWED TO STEAL FUNDS FROM INNOCENT PEOPLE. outcome. HERE IS THE OUTCOME. I first looked under second change drawings and it stated it was a winner so I called State Lottery and spoke with Fraud department. they checked the card and said it was a $3 winner and all the establishment had to do was manually punch in the numbers. So I was instructed to either go back to the same place and call them and they would walk the establishment through the system so that they could pay out my ticket. I got there and while in the car I called State Lottery and then they had me go back into the establishment. I waited in line and when my time came up. They attempted as before to run the ticket. The bar code didn't work and I was instructed by State lottery to have them manually enter the card if they would. The guy at the register was very busy so he had the owner take care of it. She attempted to run the bar code which didn't work I told her I had the State lottery on my speaker phone and could explain to them how to manually enter the code. At that point the guy behind the register said that THEY CANNOT RUN ANY TICKETS MANUALLY. That their system is not upgraded to do that so they send everyone to STATOR BRO. to cash their tickets. I said then why buy tickets here if they cannot cash them and the lady from the state said they could upgrade their system so they can manually run the Tickets to pay out to their customers. Guess they don't want to. As waiting and discussing the owner was able to manually enter the numbers and I received my payout of $3. Because how this was all handled. This establishment will NO longer see any of our funds and although I receive gas cards and have ALWAYS used them in DHS. I will from now on Gas up in Palm Springs. CASE CLOSED. read more

So close to the Agua Caliente Casino! Valero is the only gas station that carries diesel in the proximity. The bathrooms were immaculate and cleaning log is posted for everyone to see. Snacks and drinks were really inexpensive. The staff was extremely friendly and smiled. Prices seemed more competitive than the bigger chain stations. It one of these gas stations where you feel like a person and not just a customer. Regardless if I won or lost money at the casino, I always feel like a real winner at this gas station. Stopped here on my way home to fill up and was pleasantly surprised by the service at, of all places, a gas station. I initially stopped here because it was cheaper than the other stations near by. I filled up and went inside for something to drink for the balance of my drive home. The inside was really clean and the bathroom was NOT a typical gas station bathroom. It too was very clean. The guy behind the counter, Chad I think, was really nice. We talked for a good few minutes about mostly nothing before I headed back to my car. This is my go to gas station when I drive between California and Arizona. The bathroom is clean and easily accessible, the staff is friendly, and the shop is well stocked and organized.
