My husband and I are preparing for a barbecue. When we got to Walmart, one of the first aisles we went into, was the bread aisle. Unfortunately, some of the bread items were expired. I picked up a pack of Cuban bread rolls that were extremely moldy. The expiration date was in June, and we are currently in the month of July. It wasn't even mildly stale. My husband initially thought the mold was some sort of garlic or basil. Lol. What is this about? This Walmart is absolutely horrible. They have workers walking down the aisle blaring music and singing. They all barely speak any English and then the workers by the self checkout just stand and talk all day, they'll see your light blinking that you need help and they'll keep talking. This Walmart is a super center with a grocery and liquor store attached. It's your average Walmart. Whenever I do go to this location I can never find the lotion section though lol! In some ways I've found this Walmart to be better than the one I normally go to on the Causeway however this location is ALWAYS packed! On my trip there today there was a lot of yelling through out the front of the store. I waited in the self checkout line for about 30 minutes. The scanner in my aisle was inoperable. Also, there was a confrontation between a customer and an employee! The employee was told she was rude and some other derogatory remarks! It was shocking but everyone minded their business to include the associate who was helping me with the inoperable scanner. The store looked pretty clean and orderly. Always a plus! So I had a flat tire. By the time the tow truck came it was 5:45. So when we got to the auto center the woman looked at me and without any questions said "I'm locking this door in 15 minutes." I said I had to get my car towed here. It's undrivable I have your warranty. She replied, " I'm not taking in any more cars. " I said can you take a ticket for tomorrow? "No." In fact, you cannot leave your car here overnight. This is the second wonderful encounter I've had with this "service center". I relocated to the Riverview, Florida area this past July and was pleased that convenient shopping, post office, hardware stores, gas stations and restuarants are neaby. The Wal-Mart Super Center in Gibsonton, FL, is about 10 minutes away from my house, too. For convenience I started using curbside grocery service and was very pleased initially, as I was in & out of the parking lot within 10 to 15 minutes. After Setember my average wait time increased to 30 to 45 minutes each time and occaissionally, I have waited for over 60 minutes for my brought to my car. When I tried to call the store manager and express my concerns, she refused to take my call and had the operator re-direct me to the Curbside Service number? Where I had aleady been waiting 45 minutes for my order to brought out to my car, as 4 other cars arrived and departed as I continued to wait. I have spoken to other custermers on multiple occaisions and they conveyed the curbside delivery at this store is the worst they have every experienced. Not sure what the management of the store is doing to address this issue, but the situaiton is going from bad to worse. I would encourage shoppers to consider other Walmart locations, the extra driving time will be worth recieving good curbside service and not waiting 45 to 60 minutes for your order to be delivered to your car. read more

Do not use Walmart delivery service from any Riverview, FL stores. The inventory reflected on Walmart.com doesn't match what this store has. Items that are supposedly available when you order are consistently unavailable when the store fills the order. To make matters worse, the authorization on your credit/debit card will stay for at least 6 days. So you won't get what you ordered and your money will be tied up for a week. It's a Wal-Mart, so you get what you'd expect in general (decent prices, not so great ambiance, and a guard). Their general lack of concern for their parking lot takes a perfectly nice area and makes it feel run down, which is kind of sad. A few extra staff would keep cars safe... the layout is a fender bender dream as well (witnessed a crash on our first visit). The store always looked dirty, crowded and a disaster with merchandise strewn everywhere. Compared to other Walmart stores this location which was extremely busy during this visit, was still clean, and the shelves were being restocked as fast as possible. The had most check out lanes open and all had a line, but the lines moved quickly. The parking lot although pretty full still had a lot of extra parking spaces, and the carts were being brought in quickly as possible. This Walmart is what you expect and my shopping trip went well. If I could give this store a zero rating review I would. Customer service is deplorable. The store was packed and they had two registers open. When I asked the three ladies just standing around gabbing in the customer service section if they would be able to open up any additional lanes one of the girls snapped at me very rudely that they didn't have anybody available to open up additional lanes. There was zero need for that attitude and hostility when I approached respectfully. As I stood in line I continued to watch the three ladies stand there for over thirty minutes just yacking away and laughing about personal matters as my lane was right by the customer service center and I could see/hear everything. It would seem that Walmart's objective here is to push everyone to self checkout and as I am not an employee of Walmart, I fail to see why I should do the work. They raised their prices, yet I am expected to do the work by checking myself out via one of these self check out centers that rarely if ever function correctly? The self checkout lines were even longer than the two cashier manned lanes. What's up with that??? Additionally, the line I was in was held up even longer as the cashier checking out was apparently friends with the party in front of me and decided to carry on a lengthy personal conversation about party plans while the line behind me continued to grow. She even shouted over me to the person behind me whom she was also apparently friendly with to include them in the conversation which displayed poor etiquette. Once it was finally my turn to check out I was immediately told I would now need to wait as the cashier needed to go on break. Seriously? They found a replacement cashier - a young man who moved at the speed of snail and smelled as though his last shower was over 30 days prior....this through a face mask required due to the covid pandemic. I typically only venture to hell-mart once a year and just stock up on everything due to my inability to tolerate the store and this experience only serviced to confirm my position. In fact, I've made the decision that I really need to just switch to Target. I don't care if it's an extra couple of miles drive or I pay a few extra dollars. The store is clean, the customer service is decent, and I don't have to check myself out - there are sufficient lanes open with staff that represent the store accordingly. read more

Rude, Rude, Rude. First a register was not open in the lawn and garden so I had to carry 2 plastic pools to the front of the store. I went through the self serve. I realized the larger of the 2 pools did nit have a price tag. I asked the girl standing there for help and she pretended I was not there. I repeatedly asked for her help and she would not acknowledge I was there. A man came up and asked her a question and she answered him. I lost it a asked for a manager and the girl continued to ignore me. Another customer had to get a manager for me. I paid for the smaller pool but left the other on the ground...what else could I do? I explained the situation to the manager. She said she would talk to her. I went to leave and watched from the door. The so called customer service manager, the worker and 2 others stood around and talked. When one saw me, they quickly broke it up. I had to call corp and I was referred to ethics complaints. They said it was discrimination and someone will reach out to me and a 2nd follow-up afterwards. I hate making this a race thing but the only help I was able to get was from another white customer. I have names and pics. I will make sure all my platforms get this message. I hate how rude the people are, how they run over customers trying to fill orders and refuse to help. Got here at 7:20am and it's 8:16am and I just got informed my order from yesterday got mixed up and y'all shopping for my stuff now. I've got 2 little ones who are antsy now and crying. I was trying to go around someone to check out at the self service area . The lane is no cash back and I knew this as well as the customer I went around. Nobody wasn't in this lane for a while and three registers were open. A Walmart employee was talking loud and telling other customers and humiliated me about how rude and other things about me. Don't get it since they are not even checking me out on a register and it is not their place to talk about me to other people. If you can't be pleasant try another field. As I finished to scan and pay over $150.00 in groceries I went back asked their name since their ID card was on backwards to let their bosses know. I have been shopping at this Walmart for months out of convenience because it is very close to my home. However, I will deal with traffic and a bit of a drive to start going elsewhere from now on. Too many issues to remember them all, but I'll do my best. Customer service, at this store, the majority of employees don't have a clue as to what that means. A member of management spent 15 minutes fighting with their ATM so I could get my change from a transaction ($2 in change, mind you) and my receipt. She never said a single word to me, not even a simple "I'm sorry". Instead she mumbled to herself about things like "ugh! Who puts old money in an ATM?" When I finally got my stuff, I thanked her, she said nothing and walked away. Typical of this store. Cleanliness. At this store, that is unheard of. The restrooms are always filthy, the parking lot is full of trash (and subsequently flocks of ravens and seagulls). Like to just hang out in line and wait forever? If so, this is the store for you.
