I really like this store and the selection, which is why this is so disappointing. This is now my SECOND bad experience, and after this one I'm honestly questioning whether I'll be back. We purchased fresh blue crab and shrimp from the seafood department and were seriously overcharged for what we received. For those prices, I expected FRESH, high-quality seafood. Instead, the seafood was old, dry/mushy, and completely unacceptable. My entire family was upset. We ended up THROWING IT AWAY because I wasn't willing to risk anyone getting sick. The service was good and the store has a great variety, but the prices and quality simply do not match. Charging premium prices for seafood that ends up in the TRASH is ridiculous. Good quality produce! Have visited this location for years and can't express enough the importance of consistency. They have always delivered and makes me confident to recommend them to my family and friends. Whether you need some grocery items or a lunch/dinner plate, they have something for everyone. We recently had a housewarming party and used RFM for our food options. Our guests were thoroughly impressed by the food and the quality. Everyone HAD to know where we got the food from. One guest even said the pepper steak reminded her of her grandmothers when she was growing up. What a compliment! The service is good as well. It is definitely a predominantly Spanish speaking location but as a non-Spanish speaker, we've had no issues getting in our orders or interacting with the staff. Sundays are usually the most packed in my opinion, but it's mostly for those who are looking to grab a meal. They have multiple registers open at the same time to check out is usually pretty fast. My family and I order from Riverview Fresh Market at least once a week. Some items can be a hit or miss but overall quality is always good. On this day we ordered a Ropa Vieja Plate, Spaghetti and meatballs and Acapurria. Ropa Vieja- 4/5- The meat was tasty and tender, the yellow rice was a bit stale and the sweet plantains were perfectly fried. Tip: I was able to fix the rice by putting it in a bowl and adding a little water to it and then covering with a paper towel. This softened it up. Spaghetti and Meatballs- 4/5- The small size was perfect for my son but it contained peppers inside. He was not a fan. I thought it was good but if you don't like peppers in your food maybe stay clear of this one. Acapurria- 4/5- I received it cold as if it has been sitting out. The other items I ordered were hot upon arrival so this too should have been hot. It was tasty and greasy as you can tell from the bag in the picture. read more

I love stopping by this market when im in the area. Do have to warn you it is very popular. Its always full in the morning but tends to mellow down as the day goes by. The hot food area is pretty big and has many options for meal combination, but i like it more for their meat and seafood area. Staff is helpful and store has many stock of everything you can think about as a Latin market. I know the name makes u think of the other Fresh market but its actually a latino market. This is a Spanish grocery store that also serves some delicious Spanish food. My friend introduced me here and I bought 3 ribs with rice and potato salad. While the ribs were small, they were tender and flavorful. The meat had a nice smoky flavor too. While it was not fall off the bone tender, it was easy to get the meat from the bones. The yellow rice was plentiful with beans, peas, and corn added. The potato salad was richer than I thought, but still delicious, especially with some boiled egg pieces inside. My friend took some hot sauce and I tried some of it inside the rice, and it added some nice kick and flavor. With the generous amount of food, I would have expected to pay at least 9 or 10 dollars for this. But it was only 7.99 for the whole food. I could not believe it. It was a great deal! I also took some coconut flan and enjoyed it, but it wasn't homemade and I didn't remember how much it cost. The staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the items, and they spoke good English and Spanish. The store is small with fresh veggies, meats, and beverages (and other items) that catered to the Spanish community. Parking can be a bit difficult and the lines for the food can be long. However, for great food at a wonderful price, it is well deserved. Definitely a must visit for Spanish food and groceries in the Riverview area. read more

We love going here. The place is always packed. Great job on fixing different varieties of food. My wife loves the shrimp fried rice. The line for the food was wrapped around to the back of the store but it moved fairly fast. There were so many options and their portions were huge! The Pernil was a little dry but still very flavorful and well seasoned. My daughter enjoyed her chicken and left nothing behind. We also enjoyed the beef empanadas. The only thing that was difficult is not being able to communicate with the person that was helping us as he did not speak any English and we did not know what the different foods were in front of us but we got through and pointed out what looked good through suggestions from our friends that were with us. We will be back to try other items and hopefully will check out the store portion as well next time. read more

This is my new go-to for all my Latin grocery needs. I made that decision after visiting the store this past Sunday. I must say that I'd rather drive to this store in Riverview than go to the Latino Supermarket in Valrico. Why? Because it's so much cleaner at the Riverview Fresh Market. I also noticed that they carry various different brands of hot chocolate bars. Publix stopped carrying my mother's favorite brands (Menier and Cortez). I had to get them shipped through Amazon until now. I was so happy to see them on the shelf. I ended up getting the Cortez bars because they had a better sell by date. None of them were expired, but I just wanted to get a couple that would last longer. While I was there, I noticed a long line leading to the hot food counter. I couldn't resist it. I had to try the food. I got in line but didn't have to wait too long. It moved quickly. I was overwhelmed, and it took me a while to make my selections. Everything looked so good. I ended up getting a takeout box full of lechon asado, rice with gandules, and sweet plantains. I couldn't believe it was only $6. I also added a small container each of habichuelas rosadas and avocado salad. My Spanish is very bad, but I was somehow able to pull some sentences together that made sense to the young lady who was helping me. #237 Recently renamed Riverview Fresh Market this store has been a fixture here but we never stopped in. Totally unhappy with Publix fresh beef we thought we explore the possibilities of this market. Very crowded, we were surprised by the cooked food counter in the front. With so many dishes available we know we will be back to try some. Some dishes we knew, some we didn't but the selection is massive and although from the old name you think this is a Mexican market it is definitely Latin/Cuban, but they did have some Mexican dishes. The produce department is very good as we picked up some tropical fruits that were ripe and table ready. Didn't buy any meat but we might The store is packed to the gills with product and the aisles are very narrow so check your claustrophobia at the door. All staff were helpful and friendly. We'll definitely be back to try some of the prepared foods. read more

Everything in this market is fresh and reasonably priced, great selection of anything you're looking for. Hot food section has great food and different daily selections no matter what your diet consists of. Raw meat and seafood area is amazing, and most importantly clean. I ordered a roasted Turkey stuffed with Mofongo for Thanksgiving, what I received, for $70.+ was, what looked like slop. Looked like someone smashed our Turkey, by stepping on it. We trashed it and didn't have Turkey this year for Thanksgiving. Never again!!!!! I only wish I could post pics, you'd see how horrible our Turkey was given to us. Also, the Turkey wasn't stuffed, as indicted on my receipt. The store personnel argued with me, even after showing my receipt, clearing showing, stuffed with Mofongo. An excellent option for one stop shopping. This store has international grocery options from the Caribbean to Asian. There is a fresh meat option in the back of the store that sells both packaged and weighed by the pound meat options. There is also hot food that is very reasonably priced. The plates include an entree and two side options and the prices range from $5.99 to $8.99. The food is fresh and tasty. The line may be long when you arrive, however, it moves swiftly with 5 servers behind the counter. There are also usually 4 registers open for a swift checkout. There is an abundance of food options from seafood soup to roast pork to chicken stew to steak and onions. The portions are enough for two to eat. Catering is also offered at a reasonable price. The weigh by the pound meat option is excellent for any size family. The butchers also accommodate select cutting options when you order meat. The fresh fruit is reasonably priced as well as the other international grocery options. This store is one of my favorites and I usually shop here a few times a month. read more

Ahhhh, so happy I could find a Hispanic store in Riverview to get my quick fixings when I don't feel like cooking. Is this my favorite bodega? No, but it is convenient as I live in the area. They have occasional deals on meats and veggies, but their big thing is the precooked food. So frickin' good and so close whenever I don't feel like cooking. They have a ton of food. And I mean so much. Hot ticket item too, their lines are sometimes ridiculous and it may take 20 minutes to get your food but it makes sense because it is delicious and cheap. And they pile it on. So you'll have enough for at least 2 meals. I love this place for the food, but for platanos I go elsewhere. And as a Dominican, I need platanos in my life, but this place never has them for a good price. read more
