I had an extremely inappropriate experience at the Fairhope Walmart on Christmas Eve. About 15 minutes before closing, while shopping normally and trying to finish last-minute items, I was approached by a man in plain clothes who did not identify himself and was not wearing any Walmart uniform or badge. Without explanation, he repeatedly told me to "get out of here" and "you need to get out of here," over and over again. He then said he was going to follow me around until I left and claimed police were already present and that he would call them on me. At no point did he explain who he was or what authority he had. The store was still open, I was doing nothing suspicious, and his behavior actively interfered with my ability to finish shopping. It was intimidating, inappropriate, and completely unacceptable. Customers should never be harassed or ordered to leave an open store by an unidentified individual. This was reported to Walmart corporate and their "ethics"department.. All I have to say is management needs to take this seriously, because no customer should be treated this way. And I will make sure I am heard. read more

All I can say is this is not almost all self checkout. If I am having to do my own work, then open all the self checkouts please. Stood in line for 15 minutes to do it myself. I use to like the Walmart, as much as one can like Walmart. It has gone down over the last few years. I try to limit all visits if possible. read more

Buyer beware. Gift card scam. Do not buy Walmart gift cards from this location with cash. Bought a gift card on the 12th put it into my wallet, mailed it to my grandparents on the 16th (straight from my wallet into a card) and on the 20th my grandparents check the balance on said card and it's ZERO. I just do not understand Walmart's business model when it comes to their automotive services. I just left this location after waiting in line for 15 minutes for their doors to open at 7:00 (confirmed with the store). Someone finally came to the door about 7:15 and informed us that they it would be around 8:00 before they opened because nobody was scheduled. What a crock..are they in business to make money or not? This is not a covid related work shortage because I have been to this location and the location in Gulf Shores many times before, and this is always an issue. If this were my business, I would have staff rolling up the overhead doors at 7:00 and maximizing my profits. Two of us left after being told about the delay, and the other two people outside probably left soon after. This is the type of customer service that makes me want to never return to this store. Walmart has no respect for the time of others. I would rather go elsewhere and pay more, rather than get jerked around here again. read more

I am being fair I think. Wal-Marts have always turned me off. It was very important I went this time so here is my review First I can get my hair and nails done there and who knows what else is on that place. It is huge!! I didn't cover 1/2 if it but did discover cat food is on the opposite side from groceries. Everything else is stuffed in the middle. If you aren't s regular it is crazy. I was reminded of the market in Budapest but with none of the cool stuff. The people! Now I am reminded of my loathing. The handicarts were everywhere so movement was slow. Shelves were being restocked st 1130 am so that added an element of frustration. AND there are 3 cashiers for 15 aisles. Awful! Luckily my old cashier from the Pig spotted me and opened up. The produce looked really good though and the prices are definitely better. It is just too much Everything going on in there for me. read more

Do not trust the staff in the auto services. Had them mount and balance a new set of tires. I thought how hard could it be. Unfortunately too hard for the guys at this store. I brought the car in with old 225 40 18 tires on the fronts and old 255 40 18 tires on the back. Its called a staggered tire set up that is common on high performance sporty cars, like mine. I even explained that the 225s go on the front and the 255s go on the back to staffer setting up the work order. Next day after driving the car a while, and smelling burning rubber, I found they screwed up. They put the two 255 40 18 tires on the left side of the car and the two 225 40 18 tires on the right side. Went in for redress during normal business hours, and was informed there was no one available to talk to. I will be talking to them. Walmart will likely be replacing the burnt tire and paying for any damage to my vehicle. All in all, a miserable experience. I'll never use them for anything automotive, and I offer this yelp as a warning to stay away from this bunch. No hard feelings, I just wish people knew how to do their jobs. read more

This Walmart is better than the other local Walmarts in the area, but tonight when looking for fruits I found mold, rot, and gnats in the bags of apples. The freestanding fruit was not a better selection, and every banana was yellow on the verge of browning. Hopefully they are restocking soon because every organic milk was gone and much of the regular milk was as well. The bread aisle was also bare, and although this is Alabama, there has been no threat of snow here so there is no excuse for the lack of stock in the store. read more

Literally the rudest place I have ever been to. Never taking my business there again. This isn't the first time employee's have been rude but tonight did it for me. The lady threatens to call the police on us cause me and my friends were laughing a little loud but still, and than says i exceed the weight limit??? Weight limit of what. I was so utterly disgusted with this place. Several employees followed us through the store. I left my basket in the middle of the isle I'll take my business to Target where they treat me like an actual humans!!! Just avoid this place you won't regret it!! read more

Not helpful at all! When I asked a Walmart team member where I could find what I was looking for, he told me he was on break and continued on his way. If you're on break, take off your walmart vest and I won't bother you. Then another visit I ask a young man stocking shelves if he was going to restock any more of a product I was looking for, he told me he was getting ready to go on lunch break. On my way out after spending $195.00 I overheard a customer service manager telling another teammate that she is tired of Walmart's crap. I'm not impressed at all. read more

This is BY FAR the WORST Wal-Mart Experience I have EVER had! The employees act like they don't give a RATS ASS about helping the customers! They used to stand around registers in clumps and lately they were told not to hang around the registers anymore in clumps, now you have to hunt them down and they act like you are interrupting their little gatherings. Wal-Mart needs to let most of them go and hire a fresh new batch. The guy in the paint department had a BIG TIME attitude! I will Go out of way way to avoid the BIG BOX STORE!!!! Everything you could ask for being it is Walmart aka wally world to me. They keep the store clean and stocked. Meat & seafood section could be a little bigger. I normaly avoid the chaos during busy hours by using the tire center entrance and checkout area. read more

I live by this Walmart and it has always been nothing but amazing for me. I do understand sometimes it's very difficult to stand in the check out lines for what feels like forever, but besides that they are very attentive! We took our vehicle to the automotive department for new tires. They bent our wheels and it has been a nightmare ever since to fix. A month later and the issue still isn't resolved. They have done nothing to rectify the situation. I do not recommend!!!!!!!!!! read more

I recently purchased a blu-ray player (naively) thinking that it would have the AV output to a standard def tv...it didn't...so I tried to return it the same day that I purchased it and they would not take it back because it was a sale item. They did not offer store credit or anything. First time I had that happen at Walmart since I had the receipt, and it was purchased that day merely a couple hours before. Girlfriend was able to return it today to the Walmart in Gulf Shores, no questions asked. read more
