Nobody really enjoys going to Walmart and locations in Northern Virginia tend to be few and far between. They have everything you need here and prices are okay. There's plenty of parking and I was able to get in and out of the store pretty quickly on a Saturday afternoon. Horrible shopping experience. I had not set foot inside of Walmart in several years and my visit yesterday reminded me why. The store was an absolute zoo, filled with disrespectful employees blocking narrow aisles with restocking carts on a busy Saturday afternoon. I asked on employee to move their cart and informed them they were blocking the shelf I was trying to reach, all I got was a dirty look. I rarely shop at Walmart for many reasons; a big one being that there are none less than 15 minutes away from me, but this one was great! We ran in to grab some sunglasses for hubs so he could have a back up pair for when he "misplaces" his. Hubs was on a mission so we asked one of the employees for assistance and she was super friendly & helpful and pointed us in the right direction. We found what we were looking for & went to check out in less than 10 minutes, lol. The cashier was super nice and engaging and this particular store was very clean and nicely stocked. It's Walmart. There are many like this, but this one is mine. Okay having a bit of fun with a movie. This store can be extremely busy. The all self checkout out idea has sped things up. Yet the store here, can get mobbed, and it's frustrating. There's no rhyme or reason I can discern. Get bottles of water, or some grocery items here. Also I do like that they have a good video game section. Just like other Walmarts, they lost their cujones, and stopped selling firearms. That leaves a bad taste for me, so I do go out of my way, to purchase other items elsewhere as a response to this. The fishing and camping equipment here stinks. It said they have Prime sports drinks on their site, but they don't have them in stock. read more

7/24/21 Cottnelle with Ripples for a cleaner asshole. Sparkle handtowel paper with thirst pockets. Both products have and can be used for more than just hands and butts. Still, the price is right and since I am doing the shopping, I get to pick the product this time around. Walmart isn't to busy and I haven't seen the crazy things people do at Walmart... yet. One of the nicer Walmarts around. It has groceries and other department store items. Food is usually in stock, people here are mostly nice, except when they are in the way. Self checkout seems unorganized, especially when there is an issue. It took 10 minutes to get someone to fix the self checkout machines for 3 people. I would go to this walmart rather than the ones in Alexandria. read more

While this is not the closest Walmart to me, I will drive 10 minutes out of my way to visit this one. It's cleaner and better stocked with a large food section. The clearance section is actually pretty good and I've found heavily discounted stuffed animals for my kids and other games for them. The baby clothes section is nice as is the kids clothes section. I also really like the large craft selection here. The parking lot is crazy because it shares the space with Lidl so be prepared for that. It's much cleaner than my local Walmart, so I'll choose this location and I'd recommend it over the Burke Walmart any day. read more

I've been coming to this Walmart since they opened and they've always had everything I needed. This is the store my mom got her old Walmart card at, we've never had any issues with their employees and they've been helpful to me whenever I go to shop! They're conveniently located around a bunch of shops, predominantly of Asian cuisine and my favorite shop has to be ShareTea! It can get very packed and the parking lot does fill up quickly which is the only downside. read more

I don't normally write reviews on stores but after my EXTREMELY HORRIBLE experience with customer service today, I felt it was necessary to bring to the attention of higher management about how incredibly lazy and disrespectful their staff are. I went in today to look for imPress nails. After walking down the Beauty aisles, and thoroughly checking each section, I was unable to find them. I proceeded to ask an employee who was near the area for help. She brushed me off saying "We have it, go look go look". I then calmly asked her again, this time with explaining how I had looked online and saw that it was in stock. I also told her I had already checked the aisles. If she said they have it, I can't seem to find them, so if she could show me their location. With an unlistening ear, she repeatedly told me to "go look!" Frustrated, I went back into the section again to look for someone else to be of my assistance. I found another employee, and again, asked for help in finding the imPress nails. LET ME TELL YOU WHAT SHE SAID: "I don't work here!" Umm, she was price checking other items in the aisle, not to mention obviously wearing a Walmart uniform, and now telling ME that she doesn't work here?! Walmart Management, I ask you, do you really pay for people to "work" here? I simply asked not one, but TWO employees a simple question in helping me to find a product in the store. If they did not know, I would assume they could ask someone else to assist me. Her actions were extremely rude and disrespectful. You best believe I told her just that. Next, she sighed heavily and told me to talk to the woman in charge of the section. AND GUESS WHO IT WAS? It was the previous woman I had spoken to. The one who had brushed me off like my asking her a simple question was not part of her every day job duties and responsibilities. As if I was interfering with her "responsibilities" of standing around pretending to look busy and actually doing absolutely nothing?! When the first woman saw me, she got really upset with me and raised her voice, "I ALREADY TOLD YOU TO GO LOOK WHY DIDN'T YOU GO LOOK!!!" I wasn't going to waste my breath on inadequate disrespectful people who clearly would be of no further assistance to me. I sternly told them both that they had the worse customer service and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. Walmart management, maybe you should hire employees who care.. or those who aren't lazy and are inclined to helping their customers because due to those two disrespectful employees, congratulations, you just lost a loyal customer. I will never come back to this Fairfax Walmart again. First, this place is open 24 hours. This makes me happy because I am a night owl. Score! I shop at Walmart mainly for the groceries. I come here about twice per month for basic food staples...eggs, bagels, lunch meat, bananas, apples, a few frozen items, CILANTRO!! (always fresh and huge bundles), lettuce for my weekly salads, maybe other veggies. Then I tend to wander around the store, end up picking up random things that I really don't need like more plastic tupper ware containers, camping gear, exercise clothing, laundry detergent, holiday greeting cards, candles. What doesn't Walmart have??? Service is great, people ask if I'm finding everything ok. Store is clean, well organized, check out is quick. I have absolutely no complaints. read more

U P D A T E D on 2/15/2022 : After couple days, the store manager called today my personal phone and offered me a gift card for the value of those BinaxNOW Covid-19 antigen tests. I appreciate the effort, though if this would happened the very first time I went there for the return, we would never have to go through this. At least and in the end, the GM made things right!!! Thank you. Original post with (1*) one star: I'm done shopping at Walmart! I have bought BinaxNOW Covid-19antigen tests on Jan 9th, 2022. Did not used them, so I brought them back, and I was told that Walmart can't refund them back as BinaxNow company restrict them to take them back! The CSR was not telling me the truth! I also called BinaxNOW, and BinaxNow confirmed that there is not such restriction being put on Walmart, so the 90 days return policy on sealed package should apply. Walmart had no notice or signage in front of the merchandise neither on the receipt stating that this item is not refundable either! I called 1800 Walmart, but the only answer I got was to speak with the local store manager AMOL. Good luck! I'm not able to reach anyone at the store level, and whenever I call and wait for a life person, the call after while drops off. Simple said:"rip off!" I was told by Hareem that I was past my 90 days (because it was a Leap year, the extra day in Feb put me over 90 days). I'm ok with missing the 90 day mark but this guy was extremely rude! This is my go to Walmart in the area. It is a SuperCenter and carries considerably more merchandise than the closest store. Much less frustration to just drive to the SuperCenter right from the start vs having to deal with a shopping list so incompletely taken care of. The shopping experience is also more tolerable; there is just plain more space at this store. The congestion factor is lower. With the delta variant of COVID now escalating, congestion could well be considered a safety issue once again. The parking lot is large. There are many other stores really close by if you have other errands to run. It can get congested around the time work lets off for most folks (once again). Then it becomes difficult to even enter the parking lot from the street. Suggest just rescheduling to a less crowded time if you can. Really early mornings, right when they open, usu works well, even on wknds. read more

I am a 28 year old man and I was denied purchasing alcohol today because my wife (27) left her purse with her ID in the car. I always have my ID ready and expect to be carded, but this is a little absurd. I'm sure the cashier wouldn't have batted an eye about it if we had our two children shopping with us today -- as if that somehow makes my wife exempt from the 'looks under 40' rule -- but, lucky for Walmart, we left them at daycare so this woman was able to save the world from my Alcohol-for-Minors trafficking business that specializes in one $8 bottle of Peach Rosé at a time. Used Drive-up pick-up because of covid and it's not running very smoothly at all. When I arrived they couldn't find my order, by my name or my order # they came to my window 4 times UNMASKED!!!! it took them 25 min to bring it out to me. I only had a few items! The absolute worst customer service experience I ever had in my life. I needed new shower curtains so I went to Walmart in Fairfax off of lee highway. For some reason I could not find the shower curtains anywhere. No point wasting my time walking around so as soon as I saw an associate I asked her "excuse me, where can I find the shower curtains?". She was stocking some things in one of the aisles, doesn't even look at me or acknowledges me but just says, "the shower curtains are where it says BATH, they are in BATH. You have to READ. I walked away and yelled out thank you so much sarcastically but absolutely surprised at this. Whatever I could brush it off but what about the other customers going there who may have a question? I mean it could be an elderly person or someone who is a foreigner, heck it could be my parents or yours that could be asking a question. But for someone to answer back "angrily/annoyed" telling me to "READ" is absolutely ridiculous. Why would i want to go back to a place where an associate can't even be friendly? Store manager's name is Shabnam which I received and I already called corporate about this. Look, life is hard, things happen in life and sometimes we are just having bad days, but this type of behavior is 100% unwarranted for and this may have been my last Walmart experience I will have at this location forever. Oh and to follow up, I did find the shower curtains after walking around some more. Would have been so cool if the lady just said "oh right down here". Overall, visiting this Walmart many times was a fine experience. The parking is fine and getting in to find all the sections was good as well, with kind workers who help you if you need it! Finding the items I needed was convenient with the organized aisles, and I enjoyed how accessible every item was to most shoppers! Additionally, this location is excellently cleaned and tidied. I enjoyed how this Walmart looked inside (especially renovated) and the nice shopping atmosphere. tl;dr: Though it is almost like any Walmart, I would still recommend visiting this location! read more

Awful Walmart. You would think that such a big corporation would ensure quality and consistency across all stores. I've been in so many nice and helpful WalMart's! This one is the worst. They take dreadful "Northern Virginia indifference/unfriendliness" to a new low. Case in point: the jewelry section clerk was nowhere to be found, then when I had someone else page her she came with an attitude and refused to help me (of course after the other employee disappeared). Store needs serious help. Avoid at all costs. Note: jewelry store clerk was "on duty" at 2:30 pm on Tues, March 5, 2019 in case store management want to teach some accountability. Unlikely. It's pretty built up at this point and is a regular Walmart now. It's close to Mason so lots of college kids. Huge grocery section which is why I go now; since it's 24/7/365, it's convenient. I'm always there at weird times but customer service is pretty good for late night staff. read more

You can get what you need at a Walmart, that's for sure. (measuring tape!). It's cheap, lines are fairly slow, but it's the least messy Walmart I've ever seen Using Coupons at this Walmart is so annoying. You're treated as if you're stealing. The cashiers read the ENTIRE coupon, including redemption directions. Then, the registers only match the product to the coupon about half the time. So now? I use coupons for almost everything when I go in there. I make certain that it is not expired, that I buy exactly the number of items and correct product sizes. And then when they scoff (again, 50% of the time) I make them go through the bags to find the product themselves. I love being right. Coming here with coupons, I'm treated like a thief. Had to toss open almost every bag to prove my purchases today. Rakimb should not be a front end person. He is rude and disrespectful.
