It works for basics. Now it's the $1.25 Tree. A lot of this has, been for years congress of both parties spends, spends, and spends. I believe our national debt is over $30 trillion now. The company change wasn't exactly a crowd pleaser, but they have margins to operate as well. This store is well staffed. Also they have good deals on household cleaners. I've even found car wash materials for less here. Like many of their stores, you might have to search the aisles to find something. Yet all in all it works, and cards are still 2 for $1.00. That alone saves money.

The closest Dollar Tree to us. We usually visit the one in Centerville, even though this one is closer. On our most recent trip, customer service was much better than past visits to this location. Gail was so kind, helpful, ensured social distancing was being practiced, and bagged everything neatly. Usually, our bags are overly stuffed and falling apart by the time we get to the car. Found everything we were looking for and then some. Depending on when you visit, the store may be organized or there will be boxes all around. This location does offer a larger variety of items than some of the other Dollar Tree locations.

The schedule is not accurate. Been at the the place, the website says they close at 10 pm and doors were closed at 8:45pm

This is an awesome store. Everything really is a dollar (unlike those other dollar) places and the customer service is actually welcoming.

Stuff is well organized into groups/aisles despite the treasure trove/wide selection of items. There's even really random stuff you wouldn't expect to find, like sour slime or chuckles candy (for whoever is into that). I got the pokemon chalk set for my nieces/nephews, and a figpin for my bro for his birthday. I also got bday cards and I'll come back for balloons as well for other bro's upcoming birthday later in the month. Service is fine, have no issues with folks checking us out at the counter. I did ask someone if they had a specific Spongebob item and she said she had no idea, so maybe they can train staff better on merchandise but overall no complaints. Cheap stuff so it's good value for what you're getting.

There is a liquor store right by five below. I did not see any toys or supplies I needed this time around, but some candy did look inviting. There were a lot of kids and teenagers wearing lots of Dasiy Duke like clothing. The styles I was into in my day must have been horrid. My wife wanted new sun glasses and finally found them. This place has a lot of fun and games but nothing I really needed. The cellphone merchandise was the best stuff we came across. Sad part is, we don't need any right now. We will see later on. My wife was enjoying herself, but did not like the comment a cashier made about is looking around for a long time. The same thing other customers were doing. He may have not meant anything by it, but didn't sit well with my wife.

When I checked out on my last trip, the young gentleman at the register kept yawning and barely acknowledged me -- it came across as lacking basic manners and customer service. To make matters worse, a picture frame I bought turned out to be damaged in the corner when I unwrapped it at home. When I brought it back to return, the sales associate spoke to me in an accusatory tone and insisted that I had damaged it. I explained that I discovered the damage only after opening the packaging, but she refused to accept the return. Thankfully, I asked to speak with the Manager, who checked my receipt, realized I had purchased it just the day before, and resolved the situation professionally. I appreciated the manager stepping in, but the interaction should never have escalated to that point. Glad it was ultimately corrected, but the sales associate definitely needs better training in communication, customer courtesy, and how to handle returns without blaming customers.

Anyway...while he was at his appt., I decided to walk around the shopping center (FairLakes Promenade). I had seen Home Sense before but never got around to checking it out. Finally, got to do that today. At first glance, it looked like it was a furniture store. Yes, they have lots of furniture but a deeper look showed there was so much more. There are towels, bedding, kitchen utensils, household cleaning items, rugs and decorative items. My intention was just to look not buy. However, when I saw the food items, I realized that I needed a shopping cart. Things that caught my eye...imported pasta, pasta sauces, spices, sweets and a cleaning formulation for shower doors and mirrors. Truthfully, there were other items that attracted me but I exercised will power. For example, I saw a lovely vase but my sensible side said "we don't need another vase." There was artwork but sensible side said "We have enough of that and only so much wall space". When I went to check out, the cashier was friendly. I found out, when he tried to get me to sign up for a credit card, that they are part of a conglomerate that includes TJ Maxx. No, we don't need another credit card! My haul ended up costing $35 plus change. Once we were home, I showed my husband my haul. He asked what it cost and was pleasantly surprised. Aw, gee! I'm so proud of myself :D So, no regrets for paying Home Sense a visit!
