This place needs some serious help! I realize it's shopping on a tight budget, but that shouldn't mean they should also have budget workers. Nobody knows how to answer a simple question or even give basic information using complete sentences. I asked a worker a simple question about where the pick up area is, and he just mumbled something without even looking up. I can't be certain what he mumbled but it sounded like, "It's on the corner" he seemed to consumed with his phone to interact with me. He gave the impression the he was bothered that I even asked him. When I called the number that says to call to check in (the link in the app wasn't working) all I got was a recorded message that says they can't answer the phone and to leave a message. Save yourself hassle and frustration and shop elsewhere. This place doesn't deserve your hard earned money. read more

HORRIBLE service‼‼‼‼ So many employees and no one helped us or even attempted to help. Pushed the button for assistance with items that are locked up, baby bottles. Waited for 15 min workers from nearby departments chatting away and even looked at us, but NO one helped. Got to the register and asked for a manager, I was referred to a manager named Jackie, talking to her was like talking to a wall... Placed an order with express delivery (45mins or less) and when we got confirmation that our order was delivered, we were confused because there was nothing outside our door or gate. Well we figured out fast that our delivery driver just took a photo of the front of our house for the confirmation picture and stole our groceries. I know that they use third party deliverers so I know that DoorDash delivers for Walmarts. This is just a stay aware post about this delivery driver and thief Anthony N. who stole our groceries. Walmart needs to do a better job at making sure their customers are safe. Walmart's parking lot is busy, and has people sitting in their vehicles hanging out smoking, using drugs. As we were looking for a parking space we had to move because the people next to us were just lounging like it's their living room. We felt like we were invading their space. Keep in mind it's Walmarts parking lot and we should be able to park anywhere but due to people hanging out and looking at us it made us uncomfortable enough to move. Then we finally found a parking space. The people next to us got mad because we parked next to them. The entitlement was so heavy that the man yelled at us and asked us why we parked so closed (we were inside the lines). These people come here acting like the parking lot belongs to them only. And they feel that they can sit inside their vehicles and drink, consume drugs and then get upset at customers for parking next to their car when as customers we finally found a parking spot after driving around in circles. And once you find a parking spot now you have to worry about the person next to you who just wants privacy to do their drugs and drinking. There's a lot of homeless at this Walmart who have no respect for Walmarts customers. Walmart please employ security in the parking lot. Make your customers feel safe when shopping. read more

This is the first Walmart I have been to where the laundry detergent is locked behind glass doors and require an attendent to open. I don't want to give any stars at all because the order pickup is effn HORRIBLEEE!!!! I'm 8.5 months pregnant, cannot stand for long, and I try to do things out of convenience to save energy! I placed a Walmart order December 3rd at this Walmart, and I was in a rush and depended on the employees to do their job right (My Mistake)! On December 3rd, they didn't give me any of the meat I ordered, and missed some drinks! I called Walmart customer service to issue a refund, which I still haven't recieved as of 12/23/22! And now, on 12/23/22 I placed a Walmart order, which said it would be ready at 9-10pm. I never recieved anything saying I had to pick up same day or they would give my fkn $270 groceries that I FKN PAID FOR to someone else! So I showed up to Walmart 12/24/22 at 9am EXACTLY, waited 10 minutes for everyone else to get their groceries and I'm the last one! Someone came to my car to "relay a message from the manager that since my pick up time was last night between 9-10pm, my items are no longer in the store, and my order says it's picked up, but everyone whose items weren't picked up yesterday at the pickup time are being refunded their total because they had to give our items to first come first serve customers!" I never recieved any fkn notice that they were going to cancel my order, nor did they fkn bother to cancel my order if my $270 grocery cart was no longer available! Instead these frauds, and don't give a fk managers marked my order picked up even though they knew they gave all my stuff to other customers!! I've made my mistake multiple times already of placing Walmart pickup orders at this horrible service Walmart and I've about had it to the point of not even wanting to shop here anymore!!!!! This is by far the worst Walmart I ever been. The employees treat customers horribly. I've been accused of stealing when I had to ring up $300 of items by myself. I didn't catch an item and the supervisor came over with her scanner and started scanning everything to make sure I paid for it. While I was doing all the work. At this point one of girls were helping me and she still thought I was stealing. Just a straight ***** about it. No help and only gave a condescending attitude when I questioned her. Zero stars. Walmart employees act like they got $$$$ in stock and they watching every item. Do better people! Pusher the red button waited about 10 minutes multiple employees walked past me I asked if they could help all of them said no. This Walmart location is not that bad. It actually is a pretty good location. I love the place that this Walmart is at because it makes it super easy to get to off of the freeway. It is not too far off of the freeway at all. Plus driving into this location the parking area is not very difficult. I have been to tons of Walmart in the past and the parking is an absolute nightmare. Luckily this Walmart does not have that type of issue at all. When you first walk into the store the first thing you see is the fact that they have everything set up for the holidays. They have tons of holiday music playing and that makes everything feel super festive in theory. You look at the shelf and everything is super neat on all of the shelves. All of the items are easy to fine and centrally located throughout the store. That makes the guesswork not very hard when you do walk into the store and you need to find all the things that you're looking for The staff that are at this location of super chill. I only spoke to two of them but they both are very nice. You can tell all the rest of the staff members were doing their job diligently and it makes for a really good work environment. This Walmart definitely is not that bad. It has its flaws but it's not that bad. I also bought a laptop from this Walmart as well and it works great read more

PICKUP IS TERRIBLE! I don't recommend it. I went to the pickup area and parked. I called the number on the sign numerous times and they never picked up. My call would go straight to voicemail. I called the store number to speak with a representative so they could let pickup know I'm here, but the phone rang endlessly. I called the pickup number again-- no answer. So I walked all the way to guest services where they told me they cannot do anything about pickup so I would have to go to the pickup area and knock on their locked orange door until they opened. I called as I walked all the way back to pickup. NO ANSWER. Luckily I was able to ask a worker coming out the door if I could get my order. She'll help me as soon as she can. Good morning, I went in last night to pick up and order that was "ready" per your Downey store at 9001 Apollo Way, Downey, CA. When I arrived to the location and called the # provided there was no answer and voicemail was full, I called about 5 times and waited about 15 mins until I decided to walk inside the facility to get assistance. While arriving I had one of your associates tell me to go back outside bc he could not assist me and to knock at the "Emergency" exit for assistance, I tried explaining I was unaware I had to knock on the Emergency exit but all he did was give me attitude and repeatedly inform me to go back outside. It was very upsetting, I went back outside and waited another 15 mins and nobody was assisting me, until I walked up to an associate that finally was able to check me in to get my order, btw this girl had one of the worst attitudes I've ever seen. She was so bothered as I asked her for assistance and gave me the dirties look and attitude, all while having her AirPods on. I tried to stay calm and all, until they brought me my order, a bike for my niece that was dirty. The bike was used, the wheels were black and and you can see all the dust and dirt on the bike. I understand if it was display, but at least clean it up when providing it to a paid customer. I informed the associate of the dirty bike and all she did was take it back and lock the door on me. Btw she already had noted that the bike was picked up when it wasn't yet. I waited another 10 mins for someone to come out and give me an update on the bike and nobody came out. Another worker just peeked out the door, looked at me and shut the door again. I was frustrated and decided to go and knock to get an update, all they did was stand around and give me attitude when I asked to speak to manager. Some young kid came out at one point get in my face and told me to take the bike, that yeah it was dirty but I could still gift it like that. Are you kidding me? I paid for a new bike to gift, the audacity of this teen to tell me to take the bike dirty and gift it to my niece. Anyways, I can go on with more details about the horrible experience at here at Walmart at Downey but I won't because I'm trying to forget. If this is the type of people you guys hire, its no wonder Walmart has such a bad reputation. PS, not only did I not get a refund, but also I did not get the bike I ordered. Walmart pay doesn't work most of the time. If you pay for Walmart plus, you'll still end up paying full price at the gas pump, because Walmart pay always has an issue. I think this is deliberate programming by Walmart and not a glitch. There's no way a company as large as Walmart would have consistent payment issues with its app and not address it. read more

I never write negative reviews but I feel like this needs to be noted. Do not place any orders for pickup or delivery!!!! At least not at this Downey Apollo location. I repeat: DO NOT PLACE ORDERS FOR PICKUP OR DELIVERY! We have gone through hell trying to get our groceries and still have nothing. I've used their pickup service several times all year without an issue. But in the last month or so it has all gone to hell. Our most recent experience has been the worst. I placed an order for pickup for 7am. The hour for sensitive group shopping since I am currently 9 months pregnant. They delayed my order by 8 hours. Finally at 4pm I get a notification that my order is ready for pickup but about 15 items out of stock. I drive down there and they have me waiting in the car for 4 hours and still nothing. No associates coming out to delivery groceries. Just nothing. No one is answering the phones. People in the surrounding cars are angry. I get a notification that the store has cancelled my order. After they had said it was ready. I get customer service on the phone and they inform me they can give me a $10 credit and help me move my order to delivery for Monday morning. Fine. We wait all weekend for our Monday groceries. Monday comes and goes. The groceries never arrive. The website says they are still working on it but they also send an email saying they're out of about 10 items. I once again get customer service on the phone. They let me know that they called the store and basically the worker who answered the phone is having a nervous breakdown. Screaming about being the only one working alone to do both pickup and delivery and then hanging up the phone on the customer service person. So I once again have my order cancelled. It's just a nightmare. I have no idea what's going on at this location. But they need to figure it out. Judging by the other reviews people are having similar experiences and it's horrible. I feel bad for the one worker alone but at the same time someone needs to take accountability. Management needs to be held accountable for this. read more

I got there at 8, I got a tv mount and waited at the counter for an employee because I wanted to purchase a tv as well. I waived down couple of people that were talking in a corner to assist me and they said the person in electronics was late and wasn't there and that they couldn't help me out. I decided to wait (another mistake, just wasted my time), a man comes in rushing throwing things around and he asked me, what do you want? (Very rudely), I told him I wanted to buy a tv, his response was: "I am not going to help you! Go get yourself a cart and take the tv down yourself if you want it, I'm not going to help you, no employee is going to help you, bring it here and I'll ring you up." I told him " do I look like I need your help to lift a tv, I don't need your help at all". I went, took the tv down myself, put in in the counter, they guy left right before I got to the counter on purpose, who knows where he went to hide, I was ready to pay and leave but there he was playing games. So I left everything in front of his counter and left. He is there to do a job, he can put things back himself. I wanted a flashlight because me and my friends wanted to go explore a dark forest late out at night. However to my avail the workers did not seem interested. Anyone considering using Walmart's drive-up order pickup service should know that you will wait egreous amounts of time for your order. Don't bother calling customer service either - I was put on hold for 30 minutes where I was told that they've been getting a lot of complaints for grocery pick up. There was an option to leave a complaint with a manager and that they'd call back in 3 days, which does not help the fact that I'm trying to pick up my order today. My pick up window was 12/15/2021 from 5 - 6PM and it took 85 minutes to receive my order. This is not the first time, though admittedly this is the longest I've had to wait. I'm saddened only by the fact that someone else had actually been waiting for 3 hours when she arrived at 4:30PM. Today was different - as there were some 20 cars waiting for their orders. By the time I got out of my car, there were 14 people standing by the door. One of them knocked and a youngster opened the door abruptly and struck the customer. The conversation was heated and while the customer was upset that she was hit with a door the worker had the worst attitude. The worker refused to provide his name or that of his manager. He said that we have to continue waiting in our cars. At this point I brought up that I had been waiting for 85 minutes and that others had been waiting even longer. His response was that "if I can't wait patiently then to come back tomorrow." I told him, "if I have to wait 85 minutes, this is not a matter of impatience as no one has walked by my car at the end of the line. If there's this many people and I'm at the end then you clearly haven't even started to get orders out." I'm not saying I'm the reason orders started getting out (of course not, there were 14 other angry customers standing in front of the door). One may wonder, if this keeps happening then why do you keep coming back? I don't know - the convenience of being able to order what I need with the expectation of picking it up within a "reasonable" time frame? I'm not going to be the "you just lost yourself a customer" guy but this is the last time I'm doing this. If you have 20 cars waiting for orders with one having waited 3 hours, this is a major issue with your internal staffing and operating procedures. I'm sure the workers have to put up with a lot of "shit" but I could never get away with being rude to my customers or being otherwise unsympathetic to their frustration. I completely understand that the current COVID situation has complicated staffing but again, this is a recurring problem and if Walmart can't fix their order pick up situation they'll take their business elsewhere. Seriously, Target also provides this service and so do a few other grocery stores. Oh yeah, they'll shamelessly change some of the item's because "they're out" or "couldn't find them" and claim that you missed the window to decline the change. What's worse is there was an item missing. Probably would've spent less time actually buying the stuff in person. read more

I went to buy things for my church and the cashier wrang it up wrong so then I had to wait for him to get a lead that didn't know what to do either. Then I got a crap receipt and couldn't leave until another lead came who also didn't know what to do so she just let me go. All bad. It's safe to say I will not be returning. They don't answer any of the phones from the main number that you'll try because the posted number has a vm that you can't leave a vm because the box is full. I feel like I i try to get help by going inside, it's guaranteed I'm going to want to hurt someone. All the spots are full because they have like 3 people moving like molasses bringing out groceries.
