I honestly hate Walmart with a burning passion. But sometimes it is a necessary trip due to the corporation monopolizing the market in small towns. Came in to price a camera, to order online. Saw that the store actually had it in stock. Stood at the electronics counter for 10 mins, and nobody came to assist. Found the guy in the aisle, and he made no attempt to help. Didn't even say hello. So, I walked away. Guess I'll spend my $600 elsewhere. Also the plus size clothing selection at this store is HORRENDOUS. It's terrible. All year round, this is where they decide to drop their clearance racks for other clothing departments to make the section appear full. All of the clothes are cheap nasty material that nobody wants, certain things have been there since last fall. It's truly pathetic! Their bathrooms are an absolute dumpster fire. ALL THE TIME. Don't even get me started on their idiotic parking lot and the drivers that park there. None of these customers have any right to even have a drivers licenses. Everybody is arrogant and entitled. I can't even tell you how many times the handicap parking is invaded by non handicap people that don't have any compassion. The only saving grace this store has is that they have the new Alpine Blast Poppi soda in stock and their door greeters are the nicest people in the world. That's it. Someone once told me that "big supermarkets (redundant, I know) take from the human experience and the quality" and I can't tell you that I completely disagree. But such are the times now - and smaller pockets in and around New England benefit in more ways than one to have such behemoths lurking around towns and setting roots. Last night this was the Rigs landing spot, myself included and minus the mess the young folk left post meetup (which I picked up - no biggie, let's all pitch in and clean up even if it's not our own) I was awoken by my estranged crow friend Fred. Heaving asiago cheddar bread in his direction - the gulls came - because they were watching, totally dominating the rooftops and flagpole parking lot lights. I've been in Maine for three months, you can take my word on this one - gulls dominant the lots. But back inside I get a equal balance of "it's not my department" dude and that absolutely sweet gal that seems to have a sensory perception when I become confused about peanut butter or the bread to spread it on and many more real life examples - so the scales of customer service satisfaction tip more towards Good. read more

Went to Brunswick, ME Walmart automotive to have a burned out low beam headlight replaced and put two higher power high beams in. They put a low beam bulb in the high beam spot and said they couldn't do the high beams because they couldn't unhook the connector. I still have no low beam on the driver's side and a low beam bulb in the drivers side high beam. Headed back to get the high beam bulb replaced. Will never go to Walmart automotive for anything again. Next trip: So I went back and the automotive service manager couldn't help and he called the automotive department manager who quickly took the low beam bulb out of the high beam slot and put it in the low beam slot where it belonged. He very kindly refunded my money. So when I got home I replaced both high beam bulbs in about 10 minutes. Oddly the service manager said they were too corroded to get out but I got them out without tools and oh, by the way they were plastic and showed no sign of corrosion. Don't know if it was the technician who worked on the car or the service manager but I was told an untruth! NEVER AGAIN! read more

Just recently the nicotine gum and lozenges have been put in a cabinet under lock and key. I've tried this "new system" twice. Previously it took a while, but the employee did show up with the keys to cabinet and I was able to purchase my nicotine gum. During tonight's shopping trip I tried two different times to get a hold of my nic gum. Nobody ever showed up with the keys even after being "radioed" multiple times and an announcement over the loudspeaker. I was not the only customer waiting. This "new system" required a bit of patience from me on my first trip and was completely ineffective on my second trip as I gave up on the hope of an employee showing up with keys to the cabinet and left without being able to purchase my gum. Could these products be left at the registers or Customer Service? I think there would be a much higher probability of a customer actually being get their hands on these items and buy them. read more

I'll be honest, I've never been the biggest fan of Wal-mart. The one thing that has made me a regular though is their grocery order and pickup option that they offer. With the pandemic, this has made getting groceries feel so much less risky as you only end up being near a single person instead of TONS. The ordering online is super easy. They usually have a ton of pickup time slots available with in a few days out. That being said, it's good to plan ahead as pickups same day or next day are few. Selection is usually good, and believe it or not, i spend LESS as I'm not tempted to pickup impulse buy stuff I'd normally see walking around the store. Also, you can link and Ibotta account to further save with online coupons. Pickup is a breeze. Check-in on the app, and one of their employees brings it out to your car. They load it up, say have a great day, and groceries are done for the week! read more

No pre-made foods for delivery, like the roasted chickens or other pre-made meals you can get in-store. (Other Wal-marts you can of-course have these delivered, but nope not this one.) How convenient! Sooooooooo happy there's a Supercenter Walmart (supersized as I call it) nearby for my College kid to get all her necessities, and Target is not too far away. Once we entered, a very nice man greeted us with a warm welcome and offered assistance. Since I ordered my daughter's microwave online, we were picking it up, the nice man pointed towards the back for online orders. Once I rushed to the back of the store, another friendly staff member assisted me and brought out the microwave. I love it here, everything is easy peasy. Everyone is so nice in Maine, they don't even honk you when driving Asian LOL! Not that I drive Asian, I'm a fantastic driver, but I sure was driving like a tourist. This is the worst management in Walmart stores I've ever visited. I went to craft section and found stabilizer which needs to measured and cut to order to purchase. I was so happy to find it since it's not widely available at other local Walmart stores. Now I know why they still have it. Nobody is there to actually sell it! There is no call button at the desk like every other Walmart has. When I found an associate he said he'd call someone. Nothing happens in over 5 minutes. Meanwhile other associates are pretty much trying to run me over with their crates of stuff they are wheeling around. I asked another associate if someone is coming. They got a person to call an intercom. Still nobody. Another guy comes over says only certain people are trained to measure and cut. Great, any of them work here? After 15 minutes I leave the craft section without my stabilizer. I find grocery section having scattered carts full of items blocking entryways all over. This is 4:30pm on Tuesday afternoon. Lot of shelf's are half empty and nobody is stacking out of those carts. Freezer section windows are cloudy with moisture in every isle so you can hardly see what is inside those freezers. Why can't I give this place a negative rating? Today went in and used the self check out lanes. The wait was very long for an seemingly empty store in the middle of the day on a work day. I get to the register and notice there are no bags. So I see a woman walking around with an armful of paper bags, so I just rang the stuff up and figured she would get to me eventually. I rang up three full bags worth of stuff so it took a while and she still had not gotten to me yet. This woman looked 90 and was moving as slow as molasses running up hill in winter. Not only was she moving slow but she was frigging around with the registers to boot. I go over to her and asked her for some bags and she said she would get to me in turn. I told her then, just give me some bags and I would save her a trip. She said she had to charge me for each paper bag. WTH? A couple weeks earlier I went out through the regular checkout and almost each item had been put in it's own separate plastic bag and then two or three of those put in another bag, not to mention the extras stuck to them. WTH? Now you go completely off the deep end on the opposite side? So needless to say, I will not be putting up with that foolishness, way to make people mad. I understand the town outlawed plastic bags, probably single handily because of this place, but this is not the way to handle it. Although my general experience in the store was fine I give this store 1 star because they seem inept at problem solving. I live in Vermont but was on Maine on vacation. When I got home I realized that a $15 shirt did not make it into my bags. The short of it is that I called the store, gave them all the info off my receipt, explained that o do not live near a Walmart and agreed that they could send me s gift card so I could shop online. I waited 3 weeks, never received a card and called again. Wait, nothing, called again. This happened 5 times before I just gave up. WTF Walmart?! What can't you solve this problem? He knew more and did more than AT&T ever thought about doing (see the poor review of their Topsham store). He: Got me quits on decent terms with Verizon; Got my number migrated; Swapped over the extra memory chip; made sure all was running well; Got me into a screen protector and Otterbox protective rim; -- all for less than the phone (Samsung) would have been elsewhere, AND -- for about 20 bucks per week than I've been paying for THREE TIMES the monthly data. The only downside -- he often is supervising other stores. You might not get HIM, but if his minions and trainees are HALF as good, you'll be well served. All at Walmart. Real service. I've shopped here several times a week since it opened and in all these years I've had one could-have-been-serious problem with the auto service center (over-filled transmission fluid w/oil change but my own mechanic noted & corrected it before any damage was done) and one temporary problem (special deli order that got lost in the shuffle, but they managed to fill it out of stock in 10 minutes). The store is Immaculate, well-maintained, and - in my experience - always gives the benefit of the doubt to the customer. And I calculate that my grocery bill is 30% less than my other local options would charge. On the rare occasions I can't find something in the store, I can almost always find it on Walmart Online. Love that feature; use it a lot. The process has recently been beautifully streamlined for free pickup. I thank God for Walmart. read more

The last few years this store had been going down hill! They can't keep employees and the ones they do hire don't like to actually work! Transitioning to all self check outs and they can't be bothered to stop taking to each other to catch the mistakes that happen with the machines. And when they have a cashier they are usually slow. I'm sorry to say as well that they have people who don't know what they are doing, so it makes it nearly impossible to get in and out of there. They are very inconsistent! one day they allow something the next they don't. Very hard to keep track! since moving to the area this has been my family's go to store! But from now on we will travel the extra few minutes and pay extra to get better service! We are no longer going to spend any of our money at this location! This place needs a reality check! When you ask for help, the employees nine times out of ten will not understand what you're asking. A disgruntled employee walked up the middle of an aisle on her cell phone, loudly dropping fbombs and yelling. No, I wasn't scared- I was annoyed and disappointed that someone could have a job and do so poorly at it. If there's more than two people at the checkout, you can count on that line tripling in size, because they take their sweet time and there's a hit or miss chance they will make eye contact or say hello to you. Overall, you just get the feeling that these employees REALLY can't be bothered with motivation to work at a moderate pace with minimalistic social skills usually required for retail. read more

I shop at this Walmart often and like this store. However, for the past few days I have noticed that there are dogs in the grocery department and they are NOT service dogs, it is obvious. When I called the store manager, I was directed to the assistant manager (Jason) who was not helpful at all. He simply seemed not to give a damn about my complaint. Speaking as a CSM at a different store and also a former Walmart employee it is easy to say this place has the worst customer service I ever had. I went in there to exchange a broken pair of earbuds I bought the week prior. I had my receipt which shows that. The person behind the Customer service counter (there is an oxymoron phrase if I ever heard one) said that there isn't anything they could do you have to have the box it came in. This is false. If you have your receipt they have to help you. The CSM was more useless than her seeing he said she has been here longer and she is right. (wait what you're her manager and you just go on her word). It took me 15 minutes waiting for someone in that store who actually cares about there customers to come over help me find the same product so I could return the earbuds and then to have the person at the Customer service desk give me a shit-eating grin.
