We had a good experience with purchasing from a low-pressure, knowledgeable salesperson named Kevin. Their prices were good. Their selection covered the entire line of the brands they carried, and they carried all the brands we were interested in. They alerted us to brand discounts across the number of units or across categories. We were putting the appliances into new construction, but they were flexible about storing delivered units until their maximum free date, then delivering them to the partially finished structure for later installation in the unit's final location in the house. I am hoping my breakdown service experiences in the future will match their sales, delivery and install services. read more

bought a microwave there. It died after 13 months. 1 month after the warranty expired. Prurchase a new GE Profile miriwave and purchased the extended 3 year warranty. Panel died. they replaced it. Microwave died. They will take three weeks to look at it and if it cannot be repaired will contact the manufacturer. Their talk of service is a lie. read more

Purchased a refrigerator that had a damaged door when delivered. Installers were great, took pictures, notified the company. After two weeks without hearing anything we had to contact the company for the status of the replacement door. Calling the sales person was pointless; he doesn't return calls. Got through on the website chat and learned the door was in so Agren's must have been waiting for us to call. Delivery and installation were scheduled for a day that was not convenient at all but we re-arranged our work schedules at the last minute to be home. On the day of delivery we received a call mid-morning that delivery was re-scheduled for 3 weeks later. Sent a complaint to the CEO and the response was, yeah, we made a mistake, thanks for your feedback. Agren's is great right up to the point where they take your money. We renovated our kitchen in 2017 and outfitted it with a new dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator, all made by Kitchen Aid. Along with the new appliances, we also purchased the extended warranty for each of them. The refrigerator has been extremely unreliable. We had to use the extended warranty multiple times during the 5 years it was in force. Each time a tech came to diagnose and repair it, he said he "thought" he had it fixed, but if it gave us any trouble, we should schedule another service call. Unfortunately, that went on many times during the first 5 years. From 2022 until now, the refrigerator has had multiple issues, and we now have no warranty coverage. The pattern of failures is so bad that on the last service call (2-22-25), a service supervisor (Jason)came along with the technician. When the repair was done, I spoke with him on the phone. He told me the problem was a loose electrical connection, which his technician repaired. I asked him what caused the loose connection, and he said it was likely due to the high number of times the refrigerator has been taken apart for repairs and re-assembled. I asked him what the charge was for the repair, and he told me there would be no charge. 4 days later, he called me to tell me that due to an error, he would have to have to charge us $300.00 plus a fuel surcharge for the service call. I told him we were not happy with that since he had already told us there would be no charge, and that he also told us the loose connection was likely a result of work that they had already done on the appliance. He said he would speak to the service manager and get back to me, which he did. He told me the best they can do to resolve the situation is to charge us $150.00 and waive the fuel surcharge. Agren has done a reasonable job standing behind their product (biggest issue up to now has been long wait times, sometimes 4-5 weeks out, for service calls). However, charging us to correct a problem that we did not cause, and that Jason admitted was likely caused by their work, is very disappointing. read more

The absolute dumpster fire that is their client service team at Topsham made me want to cancel my order but the day of install went smoothly, so I am glad I didn't. I struggled to get a basic level of service trying to set up an install date for four appliances that were in the warehouse. After almost two weeks of trying to get my sales rep to get it scheduled (we knew it would be 6-8 weeks out) I finally had to track down his manager after he said to me on the phone "well you do what you want - if you want to return them I don't care, not much I can do". So CHEERS TO THE INSTALL TEAM, but I hope your sales teams lack of service doesn't put them out of job. read more

Agren delivered our new washer on 10/7/20. I popped in a load of laundry and took it out when the cycle was finished. It was sopping wet. I called Agren 10/8/20 and was told they'd schedule a service visit for us. They didn't call back, I called them again on 10/9/20 and they told me someone would show up on 10/30/20. OK, so I have to wait 3 weeks to use a brand new machine that they delivered and set up. So I called an appliance repair person and my plumber and learned that new machines have weak, electric pumps, that have trouble pumping water up out of the basement, where the machine is, and that I'd need a check valve to prevent the water from falling back into the machine and to make it spin effectively. These pumps wear out quickly and need to be replaced every 5 years or so. Buyers beware, but there's nothing you can do about it. Planned obsolescence. My plumber will fix the problem. Agren can sit there with their thumbs in unseen places. They have lost one customer. read more

When I recently visited this store, and was the only customer in the store at the time, the man I talked to barely seemed to be interested in my questions, regarding a $3,000 stove ... in fact, he appeared to have no interest in a sale. When I asked specific questions on this stove he never offered to find out himeself .. just sort of shrugged his shoulders implying it was up to me to get he answers to my questions by contacting the manufacturer ... he couldn't be bothered to do so himself. read more

I spent 25 minutes on the phone with the Agren service rep. Despite buying all of our kitchen appliances some 20 years ago, and replacing the cooktop and microwav, Agren wants me to produce the invoice from the sale to me. they spent 25 minutes trying to disqualify me from getting service. I don't want warranty, I just want them to come out to the house and fix an appliance I bought from them. apparently their record keeping system is so awful that the customer has to come up with the order number! let's just say their effort to not do a service call was fully committed! they are not a customer driven business. read more

I have bought a few appliances from Agren over the years and am impressed with the entire transaction. The sales people actually know what they are talking about and I don't get the run around. No excuses for what I can't get what I'm looking for. I REALLY like supporting a local Maine business and ya know their prices are just as good as Lowes or Home Depot or any other mega corporation. Check out their extended warranties, they actually make sense and they provide the service as opposed to outsourcing it to whoknowswho. I just bought a refrigerator, which are sort of in short supply these days, and Chris at the Topsham store got me one to be delivered in less than a 5 days. Excellent service (again). Purchased a stove in July. The delivery truck arrived and the two man crew found that the side was dented....not even checked before it was put on the truck. They took it back and delivered another. This one was not dented. No sooner than I started to use it I noticed the convection fan came on all the time even with the basic "bake" setting. I called Agren and they sent a technician about two weeks later. He confirmed the issue and called the factory who said it sounded like a bad logic board. The technician was going to take the stove apart and replace the board and I refused. This was a "new" stove, defective right out of the box and the second defective stove Agren delivered. I told him he was not going to repair it and I called my Agren sales person to remove the stove and I would select another model, without convection...a cheaper one. He said he would call back....he did not. I called him again about 2 hours later and he said Agren would only replace the stove with the same model. I refused as obviously this model is prone to defects and I told him to keep the replacement and sell me a cheaper GE stove without convection. He refused. Lesson learned....stay away from Agren where the "customer experience" doesn't matter at all. Go somewhere else if you are looking for a "positive experience"! read more

I went to Lowes for a refrigerator. You don't go to by a fridge because it's a nice day to spend big money. You go because what you have has stopped working. With that in mind; I went to Lowes. The refrigerators were all the usual prices . Lowes was sold out of everything you might actually want. They told me they could have one in about 2 weeks. Until then I guess I was supposed to eat crackers and Spam. Then they told me that because of the virus, they could only deliver the really heavy refrigerator to my front door, and, that they could take the old one away if "I" could carry the old one through my house and out to the front porch. That is when I left. I went to Home Depot. They had nothing in stock except things no one wanted ( that is why they were still in stock). Things you might want had a one month wait; combined with a month wait for delivery. That was when I left. I went to Agren. They had what I wanted in their warehouse. They said I could have it delivered in my kitchen with the old one removed in two days. It was the same price as the other big box stores. The delivery was not free ( 30 dollars ). But to make up for the delivery charge, they took the 30 dollars off the price of the fridge. AGREN is the place to go. read more

Got a brand new stove from them, had issues with it since day 1..they came and "fixed" it 4 times with the same issue coming back within a week of them coming over. Finally when we asked them to just get us a new stove since this one was clearly broken they told us they think it was a "mouse problem" and they wouldn't replace it at all. The stove was broken from DAY 1.. so unless mice got into the wires at the factory before it came to our house there's no way that's the problem. Terrible, terrible customer service. We got a fabulous new range from here with an extended warranty that transfer to the new home owner. We also got a deal on it. Plus a rebate in the mail. Good prices, good service!! The sales people were so helpful and not hard sale. Good attitude and delivered as promised. The only little issue I had was ,when they brought over the new range, they didn't put the anti tip feature on it cause they said the installer would. (the gas company does final install) Well, that was wrong. The gas company wont do it. SO I had to call Agren back to do it. NO big deal but, when you have your delivery guys come, make sure they have the correct info. I love my new range! Thanks. read more
