I had an appointment set up for Monday at 4.I received messages to verify that time slot.I received a message Monday morning that verified 4-5 pm.An hour or so later I received a message that there were a number of people ahead of me and so they would show up around 1 pm which made absolutely no sense.No one ever showed for either time and then Manday evening it showed that my appointment was canceled. The business address shows as 603 Center St Auburn ME which is the old KMart that is now Target.I never could talk to a live person so I don't know why this company advertises. Update: It's been a month since my review, and while I appreciate the AI generated response from Sears assuring me that everything will be resolved if I just call customer service again, I have tried three times to get movement on my fridge repair / replacement. The first time I called, the representative said they had no record of my case and that I should call back later. The second time I called, the representative said their system was down and they can't help me. Today, I'm calling for the third time and again 'no case number means no record' I feel really stupid for paying monthly for a 'service' that requires me to chase a company down to get any forward movement. With that money, we could have just bought a new fridge. read more

These guys sent some joker named Alex S who came into my house, spent ten minutes with my dishwasher and quoted me $800 to repair. I asked him to look at my recirculation pump and he refused. He actually said, "are you arguing with me? Your estimate is going up." After he left I tightened up a leaky gasket and electrical connection and it is working great. Called back 5 times, left two voicemails and he finally called back and said once we figure out what the address is we can reschedule, and hung up on me again! Tim, a spectacularly incompetent service technician, wasted our time and abandoned the repair at the very first matter in need of a solution. He came to repair a stove element. After some scheduling nonsense too frustrating to describe, he arrived to perform the repair. This involved removing a screw. Lo, Tim's cordless drill had a dead battery (at the beginning of the day). He asked me if I had a drill; alas, at the moment I do not. And that was it. He packed his tools, declared that he could not perform the repair, announced that I would need to replace my stove/oven, and walked out. He indicated that he would refund the service cost of the repair, which was in the neighborhood of $350 and that he would be back to settle up. He sat in his truck for ~ten minutes, then just drove off. Sears Home Repair later re-installed ~$179 of the charge, their fee for a service call. I have been on this earth for close to six decades and this is the WORST service I have ever received. I should add that we had a positive interaction with a Sears Home Service technician, Joe (came for our dryer). However, you cannot get a human on the phone when you try to interact with Sears Home Service and you cannot control whether a complete nitwit or a skilled technician will arrive at your door. read more

If it was possible I would give negative stars. We have scheduled a service call to replace a part on our dryer. Three times we have had an appointment scheduled and three times we received a message the day of the appointment saying that due to "unforeseen circumstances " our appointment was canceled. We have been over 6 months trying to get our washing machine fixed. We have had Sears repair here several times. The service technicians have been great but the service from Sears has been a nightmare! I have had to call several times and they say they are escalating the issue and never do. You can't talk with a supervisor and nobody ever calls back. I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy a protection agreement as it is not what they say! I am still working on trying to get my washer replaced or fixed as the technician has specifically stated it can't be repaired and they just keep throwing parts at me. People reading these reviews may see that Sears Appliance Reviews posts a very sympathetic "let-us-make-this-right" response to criticisms. You should be aware these are fake. If you respond thinking they'll make it right, you'll get a reply apologizing for slower-than-normal response. And nothing more! They haven't the slightest interest in "discussing your concerns and working toward a resolution." I had posted previously about a repair visit to solve a problem with our LG front-loader. Took a while to get them here and when they came, they decided we needed a new master circuit-board. They did that for $681 ($94 more than the original estimate bc they ordered the wrong part). But the problem recurred in a couple of months even though we had been away and didn't use the machine. Turns out that the warranty for parts is a mere 30 days, whether you use the machine or not. I called Sears because my refrigerator was not working properly, only my freezer was working. Once Sears repair guy showed up he spent 5 min tinkering with my refrigerator and told me that it will cost a little over $500 to fix. Told me that I had to decide right away and that they might be able to return to fix it later on in the month if it was a yes. I declined the offer because I wanted to do a little research first. Unfortunately his tinkering broke my freezer and it has stopped working after he did whatever he did. It was working perfectly before he took parts off. read more

Wow, just wow. Appointment availability was about two weeks out and then the technician who was supposed to come blew me off and cancelled my appointment when he didn't show up. Then he called me when I'd rescheduled it and blamed it all on Sears' AI system. I'm still looking for another repair service. Very exasperating. read more

Experienced and responsible! Out LG French-door refrigerator had been leaking water into the compartment below the deli drawer. Multiple attempts to work with LG online were fruitless and they did not have a tech nor could they recommend any one in our area. Then I remembered that Sears Home Services was utilized in July of 2021 for a malfunctioning compressor in that same refrigerator. We were very pleased with their tech and service. So I called Sears for the LG leak and within two weeks, Tyrone came and quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He was friendly and knowledgeable. And the fee was less than I expected for another win! Thank you, Sears Home Services, for a very happy customer experience. read more

We first contacted Sears Home Services on November 1, 2023. They sent out a repair tech who diagnosed the situation and we scheduled them to do the repair and on January 3rd. A different repair tech showed up with no parts and no idea the previous agent had even been there. He said we needed to order the necessary parts and pay for everything up front, which we did for over $1230 to cover the parts and labor for the repair. This was more than the first tech had estimated by about $100. Since the parts arrived, Sears continually cancels and reschedules the repair, pushing the date back several weeks each time. Despite many attempts to contact them, they remain uncaring and unresponsive. If you call them, you get an AI bot that only has a few options. Their online chat bot is of no use, and there is simply no way to get in touch with a human. They took our money and we have no way of knowing if they'll actually show up or not and no way to contact them. They've had our money for over 6 weeks now, and we haven't had a working refrigerator since September. We will never use them for anything again. read more

This company is horrible!!! I made an appointment to have my dryer repaired. I didn't hear from them on the day of service as noted on their website. As the day progressed and I continued to wait I began exploring options on how to contact them. The only available contact points always came back to a robot. Is impossible to speak with a real person! And of course the robot doesn't offer an option to fix their not honoring a scheduled appointment. Then, around 5:30 pm I receive an email telling me I have an appointment. Checking in today the robot acknowledges there is an appointment on the books for yesterday... WTF? read more

The repair failed to correct the problem. Our ice maker is still not functioning after replacement installed. The engineer did not confirm this. Also left the fridge pulled away from wall so we had to re position it back into original location. A follow up phone call would have been helpful to confirm everything was working. Now will require a third visit and yet more disruption to our schedule. Overall very disappointing experience. Will not plan to buy future appliances from Sears. They charge a lot for service which falls way below acceptable standards. I notice most of the reviews are 1 star go figure. read more

Stay away from this service. They canceled twice on me and both times the service center said it was the repair man's fault and the repair man said it was the service center's. Neither of them seemed to be disappointed in the trouble it caused by me having to take two days off of work. Update 3/4/2021: Someone from Sears posted a comment below directing me to their Facebook page. I did as they suggested, but their only response was, essentially, why are you contacting us here, you really need to call this number, a number I think I've called before. I spent another 90 minutes on the phone last week, mostly on hold, and made it through to a supervisor who said, well, everyone has gone home for the weekend, but I'll call you back Monday. She tried once, left a brief voicemail, and despite me calling her back, I have not heard a word from Sears since. The oven remains not repaired. Two months, 10 days and counting. I'm paying a monthly fee for Sears Home Services Warranty, and I have been waiting since the day after Christmas - two months and counting - for someone to repair my oven. Four visits by technicians, only one of whom did anything more than just open the oven door; back ordered parts that took weeks to arrive, parts that were freely available online (the baking element they could not obtain I found myself, at my own cost, on Amazon in three days); and one visit by an alleged third party contractor who spent an hour in the house, hardly touched the oven, tried to get me to give him $75, then disappeared and never came back (that was a month ago). I have spent more time on the phone trying to talk to someone than anyone has spent inside our home fixing what clearly was a baking element blowout that took out some relays as well. Sears used to provide reliable, helpful service in our experience. no longer. Whatever third party manages their contract is deeply disorganized; last time I called they did not even have a record of the last teo techs who walked in my door, whose appointments were confirmed on their website. the last technician who visited us was admirable in his willingness to help, but he also explained that his hands are tied if management or contractors refuse to allow him to buy parts from suppliers that have them or train other techs who need training. I know covid has complicated everything, but two months and counting to deal with a straightforward oven repair is too much to ask. I would happily reverse this enter review if someone - ANYONE - from Sears or their contractors showed a willingness and the power to step up and make this right. I'm the guy in Portland Maine, who called after Christmas Day. that should be enough. Two months, four+ visits, unethical requests for additional payments, incorrect parts. If I could rate lower than one star I would. We have a Kenmore high end refrigerator still on warranty and it stopped working in mid May we have made multiple appointments to have diagnosed and repair. We received conformation of appointments including during the day of scheduled appointment. No one shows up and late in the day we receive notification that the appointment needs to be rescheduled as well as an apology. They don't schedule for next day or later that week but put us back in queue 2-3 weeks out. When we attempt to call to speak to someone we end up at in off shore call center. I personally visited the listed Newington, NH location yesterday in an attempt to make a local contact and was told by the mall security guard that the location as been closed 4 yrs ago. The South Portland location claims to be open and confirmed 6 days ago. I would highly doubt that claim! Good luck to anyone relying on Kenmore support. read more

If I could give it -5 I would. My Kenmore fridge (purchased in March of 2017) broke beginning of September and I've set up an appointment online. Two weeks later technician came and told me that it's my compressor. Informed me that he doesn't think that my fridge compressor is under a warranty and attempted to charge me full price for parts and service a few dollars short of $1000.00. So I declined, paid $109.00 for them to come out to my house and left it at that. A few days later I decided to order parts on sears.com and schedule another appointment. After a long conversation (I have a record of) over their chat with a parts rep I've purchased a compressor. I've asked the rep multiple times if there's anything else I need to purchase with it in order to install it and they assured that I only need a compressor and in fact I can install it myself. My next appointment came and the same technician came that was here the first time. He said that he cannot install the compressor because I needed to order more parts. He asked me if I had a warranty I said that I didn't know. After further investigation he found out that the compressor is covered under a warranty and ordered the parts for me. I paid $488.00 for labor and he scheduled an appointment for me on 11/1/2021 8 AM - noon. On Sunday 10/31/2021 I got a call confirming my appointment. This morning I took time off working sitting here patiently waiting for my technician to arrive . between 10 and 10.30 AM I got a call that they need to reschedule. Are you serious??????? The most outrageous thing is that the next available appointment they have is 11/16/2021 afternoon. This is unbelievable. I called them and after I've explained what happened she hung up on me. I called again and the guy told me that he'll submit two requests and they call me back. No one called so far. They didn't have issues taking my money promising me service and they can't even make it right. I work in customer care myself and I know if we screwed up or someone in our company called in sick and we have to reschedule an appointment no way in a million years we'd schedule it for over two weeks from the canceled date. I'm beyond disappointed. Poor customer service, total disregard for customers. I'll never ever purchase anything from there or schedule another repair with them. read more
