After reading the other reviews I'm glad to know it's not just me that sees the problem. But he wasn't always like this. I've been going to this shop for over a decade and he was always so nice and helpful and would do excellent work in cleaning my vacuum and getting parts or whatever it was. It makes me sad for the situation, not knowing what's going on. He is trying to manage two locations by himself, so that's got to be stressful and tiring...but still I wish I could get my Miele vacuum opened up and the engine looked at/or cleaned after I did not install the bag properly. I got turned away too. Edit: after reading the r/VacuumCleaners sub-Reddit on Miele vs SEBO D4 I discovered for the very FIRST time that every time you open the Miele door it triggers the auto-eject mechanism for easier bag removal - even if you did not open it up to change the bag! You need to make sure the bag gets clicked back down firmly into the spring loaded holder before closing the lid. Why did no one mention this when I bought the Miele just 3 years ago?????? read more

Took my Dyson cordless in to the Scarborough location to see if someone could diagnose why it wasn't charging. The older man behind the counter turned up his nose at the Dyson name and announced he had no idea what was wrong, no way and obviously no interest in diagnosing what he obviously considered junk. He informed us he only recommended Miele vacuums (seeing as how he was a dealership for the brand this was hardly a surprise) and managed to point out the cordless version of his brand. Given Consumer Reports doesn't think much of Miele vacuums, I guess I don't either. I hope he was having a bad day and doesn't treat everyone who walks in with a problem this way. I brought my Hoover Wind tunnel vac in for a new cord, I had run over the old cord a few too many times. New cord was replaced and installed. He also replaced belt and roller brush with a used one as he could not get a new part, even put a new bag in! Vac was originally purchased At Service Merchandise so I wasn't surprised that s new roller was not available. Got the Vac back a week later and it works great! Excellent service and great price! read more

Over the past several years I have been to Vacuum Doctor twice to have my Electrolux Oxygen repaired. I have been happily surprised both times. The last time the vacuum would not even turn on--I was quite sure it was at the end of its life. I brought it to Vacuum Doctor on a Tuesday, it was as good as new on Thursday. Apparently there was a power surge and it needed a new plug. Thank you Vacuum Doctor! read more

I just went to the Vacuum Doctor because I paid $170 to have my Dyson vacuum repaired in May 2022. It is broken again in the same place they repaired it. The man who owns the business said Dyson vacuums are "crap" and he refused to repair it again. And refused to give me back the $170 that I had just spent two months ago. Please note he still sells these crap vacuums! So don't go there if you want service after an expensive repair has failed. Very discouraging and very bad customer service. read more

Incredibly disappointed. Went in to see about a possible service call on my central vac. The older person staggering about the shop, and not making eye contact, mentioned another system I might like to try... and I had to wonder: Did he have some difficulty understanding that I wanted to check the status of my current system before pricing a new one? Oh well.. I pressed on. He advised that I bring mine in.. and just to double check, I tried to confirm.. "So you'd rather Not do a service call then?" He said "Well, you'd probably have to bring it in anyway.." Wow.. ok then. So I went home.. pulled the unit off the wall.. put it in the car.. drove it in to Windham the next day (a Tuesday)... only to see a sign on the door that said "Closed early.. back Tue. morning". WOW.. SERIOUSLY?? Since that was ON a Tuesday, I wasn't quite sure whether or not he meant next week .. or just didn't know what day of the week it was. No explanation on the sign... just "Closed Early".. Either way, what a nice luxury to have! I hope it works for him.. because it certainly didn't for me. So I took my vac to another shop. And not sure if I'll need to replace it or not.. but one thing I AM sure of.. is that IF I do.. where I will NOT be buying it. read more
