Inside it has more than average amount of paint swatches and collections of paint to help narrow down your colors. I went in a few different times and the guy working there was nice. They of course have tons of paint related items and I found it super helpful to buy the kits with foam boards and mini rollers so I could apply my sample paint to several large squares that could be affixed temporarily to my wall at home rather than paint all over my new drywall as we decided our colors. I have only two complaints- 1) the only sample size here is ridiculous- it's way to large, unless I plan on painting an entire wall to decide, I'm wasting paint and they are quite expensive compared to other smaller sized samples from other stores (and believe me, the cost adds up quick if you get multiple samples!) 2) we chose our color based on the formula on the sample, which when our painter got our paint, it ended up needing to be repainted due to the color being wrong compared to the sample. This was fixed later and figured out by our painter with Maine Paint and we were lucky enough that the second coat covered the wrong color well. The right color is beautiful. All in all I'd recommend the paint and give this location another go, but they appear to need to work on their mixing consistency. The color should be the same no matter which Maine Paint you go to and what sample you get!

Anyway, I want a gloss because it is a little tougher. He insisted that this is not so, and it shows imperfections, which I mentioned didn't matter to me. Since these arguments didn't work, he insisted that the paint that I wanted didn't come in gloss, that they'd have to add something to it, and this is not a good idea. I walked out, got the match I wanted at Home Depot.

My wife was going to prep the room during the day and I was going to come home Friday evening and paint the ceiling. Then, on Saturday morning, our plan was to knock out the walls. Well, the best laid out plans don't always go the way you want, now do they! We underestimated the amount of paint we needed for the ceiling and checked to see if SW was open late on a Friday evening and they were. I whipped over and picked up another gallon of ceiling paint, which they had in stock. They completely saved the day! I also picked up another gallon of the wall paint. Oh, yeah one more thing, always check the Internet for sales. We did this time and got 30% off!

The customer looked at me with disbelief and walked off. Then my turn was next. I had just purchased an item days earlier that was hundreds of dollars and didn't work right out of the box. They carry an impressively thorough assortment of fish stuff (including frozen food and driftwood), cat and dog stuff, and bird and rodent stuff for a small local store. The hardware store has beautiful live plants, a florist section, appliances, cleaning supplies, cold drinks, snacks, Sloggers brand boots, nice gardening gloves, etc. They can also apparently custom cut glass for you, which I haven't tried using yet but plan on it.
