She put me on the path to the South Portland store where I got plenty of help from knowledgeable staff. Although learning about petcos corporate policy on not accepting salt fish returns if they are sick or pass was shocking Thopsham and South Portland fish were well taken care of and properly QT so I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. I purchased a Lawnmower Blenny and some crabs here that are doing amazing!

At first, we were seeing some cheaper fish, then soon realized that if you are a cheap fish, your likelihood of survival is low... there were near 60 deceased fish in total. They were floating upside down, sucked into shreds in the filter, stiff and lifeless bodies in piles in the corners... In addition to this, there was a very large fish shoved behind a filter also lifeless! Lastly, the goldfish tank was an absolute monstrosity. It was foggy, dirty, no food present, no light in either their tanks or their souls. We actively watched two goldfish die and drift off in the water. I'm disgusted and disappointed Petco. Vicky lied straight to us, saying that these fish were recently checked on and someone is with the fish, cleaning their tanks every day. If this were true, the graveyard in the corner with fish dead so long their eyes were gone would have been removed correct? Anyways, astronomically distrusted.

The Animal House - Another animal up for adoption

Recently, the Oxbow Western Timothy Hay I've been buying online has been *terrible*; the worst quality I've ever seen. I wonder if it's sitting around for longer than it should be in a hot warehouse or truck? The hay is also frequently unavailable randomly on Amazon; and, Amazon frequently can't ship this hay out for at least seven to ten days for some reason. Unsure why this is happening, but enough is enough. So now I'm Team Animal House (and, again, I'm so sorry it took me so long to make this decision). It seems locally-owned. There's currently three locations: Damariscotta (which has a self-service wash facility), Brunswick, and Westbrook. The Westbrook location is in a strip mall and has loads of parking. The store is pretty clean, and while it's predominantly focused on dogs and cats, there is alllllllllllll the way in the back lefthand corner a section for our rodent and bird friends. And... voila! A wall full of Oxbow Western Timothy Hay (other kinds available as well) in all sizes: 15 ounce, 40 ounce, 90 ounce. It's nice to be able to look at each bag in person to see what the color/consistency/quality of the hay is and doublecheck lot numbers against each other. I bought a 40 ounce and 90 ounce bag just in case one ended up being not good, and the OH SO LOVELY employee cashing me out asked me if I wanted to join their loyalty program which would, for this particular item, get me a complimentary bag of hay after my seventh purchase. Um... what? YES. I didn't see the litter that I use here (Carefresh, all natural) or the hay cubes (Kaytee Timothy Blend), so unfortunately I can't swap all my shopping here. But I would if/when it becomes an option! THANKS for saving the day, Animal House! My extremely picky and always very hungry rabbit appreciates the good and immediate hay!

I have been going to the Brunswick store, for eight years, now, and I went to the Scarborough store before that. Yeah, some people might be upset because an American company has chosen to operate with policies, based on their beliefs, and their Constitutional rights to have those beliefs, but as for me, and the vast majority of us hard-working farmers and homesteaders, we applaud TSC for the hard work they do for us, and the customer service that they provide, and we are not going to try to make a store, whether it's TSC, or a local bakery, change how they operate. Give the Brunswick store a try. You'll love it.
