I went in over the weekend looking for recall/training leads for my dogs. They were completely out…read moreof stock, or they were doing a reset in the area, hard to tell. Anyway, walked around and looked for someone to help, maybe to look in the back and see if they had some not stocked yet - no one other than the cashiers were around to help. It was a Sunday, so i was pretty surprised to find that that was the case. We walked out of the store empty handed. I ordered the items online through Amazon instead. In the past, Autumn has been fairly helpful/engaging - she works a lot of the demos - she wasn't there that day.

Since my review on 4/4/24, I received no call from Corporate to address the original complaint I…read morefiled after the last incident. I resorted to engaging the Better Business Bureau in an attempt to get some answers. At this point, I felt their disabling of my online access and banning my dog from their grooming services was a retaliatory effort due to the complaints the store has received from me. Keep in mind those complaints sought to address serious fire safety violations, OSHA concerns and poor customer service from Management. I finally got a response in late April from the Corporate head quarters and this is what they said (I won't hide one word from their response). "After reviewing the feedback from our groomers/store partners, it has come to our attention that there have been multiple instances where they have felt disrespected and treated unprofessionally by you during the grooming sessions for your dog. This has created an uncomfortable working environment for our employees, which is something we take very seriously. As a result, you will not be groomed at this location in the future. And while we wish that we could further assist you, we have policies that we need to enforce, and we reserve the right to refuse service to guests as we see fit." First off, this is news to me because I have had great interactions with the 2 groomers I have ever worked with. When I asked for the dates of these occurrences so I can cross reference them with actual grooming appointments, they failed to respond. Unfortunately the consumer is to be blamed in this instance even though none of what they stated was true. I have my suspicions as to why the store would make up something like this, as I know a couple of the workers there and they would make up stuff just to ban a customer out of spite. I would use this store with caution, given if someone like myself who puts thousands of dollars a year into the store gets banned for "NO" reason, but a made up story so the workers are not disciplined for their actions then it tells me everything I need to know about their brand, mission and how they treat loyal customers. There are dogs who I have seen bite their groomers who are still being groomed today, yet my dog has done nothing and gets banned. Hmmm double standard here or just personal preference on the part of the groomers to choose who they feel should get their services rather than the consumer decide who gets paid for their services.

Update to original 1 Star Review:…read more I was contacted by Alison at VCA Lewiston and was told, they were disappointed on hearing about the treatment I had received. Alison apologized and said, "With the pandemic there are precautions we need to take, but do not refuse care for people traveling from another state. We have recently become a VCA hospital, and our software system isn't fully compatible to offer some of the wellness plans they have, but this certainly would not impact our ability to see an emergency." Alison and I talked on the phone this morning and I was able to make an appointment to recheck my sweet injured pup to make sure he is healing properly and get the care he needs. I appreciate VCA Lewiston for responding to my complaint and willingness to see my pup to make sure my pup gets better during COVID times. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated and how they wouldn't look at my small dog was viciously attacked and mauled by a large dog at our hotel in Augusta, Maine. I called on my way of taking my pup to their vet office and the front desk informed me, "This veterinarian office is not allowing new patients regardless of if you were a client in another state or the situation". I tried to explain to her the situation thinking she would have compassion to the situation. She didn't have any compassion or sympathy. I even mentioned we had taken my pup to a VCA in another state. She told me they weren't affiliated with other states, the network wasn't combined, and they are independently owned. According to my Doctor in the state we had moved from, they were all connected. The VCA website states, "With VCA's 6,000+ compassionate veterinarians, more than 600 board-certified specialists, and 1,000+ animal hospitals located in 46 US states and 5 Canadian provinces, you are always in good hands". -THIS PROVED TO BE NOT TRUE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. While they are advertising on Google they will take animals who are sick and need urgent help, THIS IS A LIE. I ended up having to drive my pup who was bleeding and in pain to an emergency clinic one hour away to get help for him. I DON'T recommend the VCA Veterinarian in Lewiston. They should lose their affiliation with the VCA network and people who are new to the area should be forewarned this VCA is not compassionate to an emergency situation.

This veterinarian office sets the example that all other veterinarian offices should follow…read more Incredible staff, and always go the extra mile to care for and love our pets. Special THANK YOU to Denise, she is amazing. Whenever we drop our pets off and Denise is taking care of our pets, we are so much more at ease knowing they'll get all the love they can handle. THANK YOU so much for what you do!
