My 18-year old son and I stopped by Reny's in Bridgton for snacks on our drive from Portland, ME to the White Mountains of NH. This location is convenient to pickup beach towels or chairs if you plan to visit Sebago Lake State Park (20 minute drive away on Route 302). This Reny's was a surprisingly large store with two levels and had many products made in Maine. On the first floor, we picked up 2 bags of Fox Family Potato Chips (Salt and Pepper; Wicked Hot BBQ) before leaving the state of Maine. I wish we had purchased 5 more bags as the chips were delicious (potato flavor and not overly seasoned). Service was friendly and the checkout line was relatively short. The prices were comparable to what you might pay at a grocery store like a Hannaford. Overall, I think every visitor should stop by a Reny's at least one time to experience this unique Maine store! read more

Absolute massive Renys - I think it took up an entire block and was the largest I've seen in my travels throughout Maine so far! It had two stories and was packed with fun and essential items. This location really reminded me of the Ames (RIP Ames) from my childhood. Not expensive and had some unique items but lots of stuff regular travelers and locals would need. I love browsing their food aisles as I always find such interesting items that you just don't see elsewhere. They had a great selection of beach chairs too! I recommend going in and browsing for fun even if you don't think you need anything. read more

No visit to Maine is complete without going to Renys. They have a lot of regional items to make your Maine visit complete. They carry an extensive range of clothing and shoes. Most of the items look foreign to me as I live in South Florida. Still they have great buys on a lot of items. So if my luggage was lost this would be the place I could get outfitted from head to toe and fit in with the Locals. Yesterday's trip with hubby we looked at the clothing too heavy however great prices on Maine souvenir T-shirts and sweats. On the first floor there is an extensive range of Bob's Red Mill products. Personally no trip here for me is complete if I don't leave with a pack of Chocolate Necco wafers. They are made in Revere, Massachusetts and a childhood favorite. Except when I was a kid you only could buy assorted flavors. They had nice coastal typed Christmas ornaments so I left with a nice ornament for our tree. Been to the Bridgton Reny's twice, and could not find what I was looking for: Colored sewing thread once and a roasting pan the second time. What I did notice was that the store is loaded with chinese made junk that is waaaay overpriced (tourist bait). Gift bags for over 2 bucks that sell at the dollar stores and wal-mart for under a dollar. Shampoo for 4 and 5 bucks a bottle, refurbished kitchen appliances at as 'new' prices not a deal as far as I'm concerned. Better off going to Mardens, Wal-mart or the dollar store. read more

Reny's is Maine. I never pass up an opportunity to stop in and browse. They have almost anything you would need if your not too picky. Clothing selection changes frequently, and you may even see brand names like Eddie Bauer, Gap, Columbia and Sanoma. Good prices on non perishable food items too. read more

I shop at this Reny's regularly, and recommend it. I was just in two days ago, and the store was clean (as usual). There are special steps and things in place for the protection of the staff and customers because of the virus. The staff is always very helpful. Things I buy here include shoes, women's clothing, food, linens, paper good of all sorts. I have always found this a good store. It does not always have everything all the time, but that is just the nature of the stores. read more

Can definitely no longer recommend!! Made purchase about 1 week ago and didn't like 2 items purchased. Went to return and they refused to put back on my credit card - only store credit. For a store that has so many shop from away store credits don't work, which is probably why they do this. Was not told this at check out and instead manager points to some little card surrounded by many others placed in location where it is not noticeable at all. Will never walk in again to buy anything and will do chargeback with my credit card company. If stores have to depend on these tactics to generate revenue it speaks volumes. Might be a great place to shop but definitely not a good place to work. Managers are prone to be friendly one day and horrible the next. Employees handle the brunt of rude customers while management frequently takes far too long to show up to help mediate, even when paged. Fellow employees have stated "I felt like I was bullied out of my job, like they just wanted to get rid of me" and "they used to be so nice to me, and helpful in their directions, but then they called me into their office to shout at me." My glasses were damaged during working hours and management (Pam) said "use contacts?" as though this was an acceptable solution to customer abuse. I left the premises and did not return. For all those seeking employment at this workplace, you'd be better off trying your luck elsewhere. read more

Growing up in Bridgton pre Walmart, Reny's was the place for inexpensive clothing and I discovered that it carries some funky and fun fashions straight from India and still does. I know lots of the people who still work and shop there so it's always interesting to have a conversation with someone you haven't seen in, like, 30 years. So....(awkward pause) what have you been doing with your life? Reny's has expanded and I lament the fact that now when I sit at the end of Elm Street waiting to turn on Main Street for a gap in the steady stream of traffic, I can no longer see thru the parking lot to Depot Street - instead I have to stare at a windowless white wall that is the expansion. This particular Reny's is truly a Maine adventure when my dearly departed dog once broke loose and ran down the hill and somehow ended up running around in Reny's.
