This is a great Reny's! It is much bigger than the Portland store. There is a much bigger selection.

Reny's is just about as Maine as you can get, and that's just one of the reasons I love it so much.

Came in to price a camera, to order online. Saw that the store actually had it in stock. Stood at the electronics counter for 10 mins, and nobody came to assist. Found the guy in the aisle, and he made no attempt to help. Didn't even say hello. So, I walked away. Guess I'll spend my $600 elsewhere. Also the plus size clothing selection at this store is HORRENDOUS. It's terrible. All year round, this is where they decide to drop their clearance racks for other clothing departments to make the section appear full. All of the clothes are cheap nasty material that nobody wants, certain things have been there since last fall. It's truly pathetic! Their bathrooms are an absolute dumpster fire. ALL THE TIME. Don't even get me started on their idiotic parking lot and the drivers that park there. None of these customers have any right to even have a drivers licenses. Everybody is arrogant and entitled. I can't even tell you how many times the handicap parking is invaded by non handicap people that don't have any compassion. The only saving grace this store has is that they have the new Alpine Blast Poppi soda in stock and their door greeters are the nicest people in the world. That's it. Literally everything else SUCKS!

We were standing there smelling the colognes (bottle to the nose) and I decided my to ditch my husband for the clearance racks. Im 30 feet away when one of the employees says, while bagging a customer order "sir, you cant spray the cologne because some customers may have allergies". My husband looks up and says "yep, I understand- I havent sprayed anything" (he works in the medical field) she continues in front of at least 20 people standing in line, and 10 more people at the registers- "if you spray it and someone wants to buy it then they cant return it". He states again "I havent sprayed anything". A few key notes here, he was the ONLY African American in the building, she did not say anything to him until I walked away AND she accused him multiple times when he hadn't sprayed anything at all. We left because he was embarrassed and angry, and called the store and spoke with a manager-who wasnt impressed. No cologne was sprayed, but there arent signs stating that cologne cant be sprayed. She didnt speak the same to the gentleman who was there before us, and I have never been spoken to about spraying or not spraying cologne in that store. I heard her from 30 feet away, and everyone was staring at my husband as if he HAD done something wrong. Hang it up lady.

It is tough to add pictures because pictures wouldn't do this place any justice. I will say, if you get overwhelmed easily with a press of merchandise all around, you may need to steel yourself before going in. There are a lot of sections of the store, many cases of many things, so it is likely they have something you're looking for, assuming you're looking for magickal, spiritual, or other wares in those veins. There are varying levels of quality and price points. The staff are very nice as well, and if you have a particular interest they can guide you to that which you seek. They have 4 parking spots just for their store, and there is other parking nearby. They do not have a public restroom, that is at the bottom of the hill they're on. They do charge a card fee. If you're in town, or the area, come visit this store. I really think you won't be disappointed that you took the time to do so.

Every single inch, every nook and cranny, has something going on. Also - how can you not love a place that has glitter confetti ALL OVER THE GROUND?! It's a two-story "theater" (their words) offering "metaphysical gifts including Wiccan, spiritual, fantasy, and extramundane needs" (again, their words). My words? It's full of unique things and curiosities and wonders and magic and I don't totally understand everything that's happening here, except this must be the same feeling people in the (19)20's had when a carnival would roll into town... then overnight be gone! There's a few things to note about this store: they prefer you don't touch much (there are signs everywhere asking that you not) and they prefer you don't take photos (which is why you don't see many). And, because there's an overwhelming amount of stuff it can a) be very easy to get turned around in and b) can be difficult to navigate the extremely narrow aisles. Just be patient and allow yourself to take it all in!

It's gone through a change in ownership since my last review. While some of the items have changed, most has remained the same. The inventory has definitely grown and there's not as many "local Maine" items as there was. But it's all high quality, hand picked special things that need to find a home in your house. We love sourcing handmade and locally made treasures whenever possible. If you're looking for a new outfit, a present for a new baby and young ones alike, or a thoughtful gift for that hard to shop for person we are ready to greet you with a smile!" There's Maine-themed stuff, Maine-made stuff, ocean themed stuff, baby stuff, kitschy stuff, women's clothing, books, bags, candles, mugs, jewelry, and so, so much more. From my limited experience, they also really bring the holidays to life here, so if you were to visit around Easter it would be "dressed-up" differently than if you visited around Halloween. It makes you want to come back because... what seasonal gifties might you find?! A tiny chick-still-in-the-shell stuffed animal or an adorable bat print onesie? Depends on when you come. When I first came it was just to browse (I get the sense that if you wanted to visit, and reeeeaaaaally take your time just looking around, that would be totally okay!), but ended up buying 1) a really sturdy metal hair clip (that I was promised wouldn't break like all the plastic ones do) in white pearlescent and gold, and 2) *the cutest* retro, 90's-like, multi-strand necklace in pink cord, gold chain, and little cubes. Hard to describe, but it gives Taylor Swift Friendship Bracelet vibes. This warm and inviting place is one you really have to come see for yourself. Say hi to owner Hannah, she's positively lovely!
