While I don't frequently shop at this store, I like to take friends and family there when they are visiting to pick up Maine souvenirs and other fun things. They also sell brands like Patagonia, which is a great brand. Maine souvenirs range from mugs, glasses, t-shirts and really nice quality sweatshirts. I like the more subtle designs and subdued colors. I like this location - as it's conveniently located in the downtown area, where there usually is street or municipal parking available. The store was nicely organized and tidy. The staff was kind with a warm welcome and a sincere thank you as I was cashing out. With that said, Starry Eye's consignment collection is small yet particularly selected with a great many beautiful, quality items at reasonable prices. I should also mention that in addition to clothing, they have a great selection of shoes and even some quality toys and puzzles! I have purchased many gifts there for friends having babies and always get a "where did you get this?" when bringing a gift from Starry Eyes. Eventually the other younger lady happened to pop into the back room and was swift in saving me from the uncomfortable situation. She was very helpful and actually listened to me. On my way out I had also asked her about the lady I had encountered previously and learned that she apparently is the new manager. Unfortunately, after my last three experiences selling at Lots for Tots in Falmouth, I feel like I need to share my feedback. I have repeatedly had interactions with the same employee (I'm not sure if she is in a management role) that have left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. She has consistently come across as dismissive and condescending, and instead of feeling like a valued customer, I have felt like I was inconveniencing her. During my most recent visit to sell, she was spelling my last name incorrectly. I gently corrected her, and her response was to snap back and roll her eyes. It was a small interaction, but the tone and attitude made me feel embarrassed and unwelcome. I also wasn't greeted or thanked during my visit. I completely understand that everyone has difficult days, but after multiple experiences like this, I hope this feedback can be an opportunity to reflect on the customer experience. I would love to continue supporting a local children's resale store, but I hope future customers are met with the warmth and kindness they deserve!
