This is my neighborhood Walmart, and I haven't had any major complaints. They always have what I'm looking for. I check the app to make sure items are in stock first. Although a very convenient location right off of Ben White this Walmart has been a challenge to keep coming back to as the service I received her is lackluster and spotty. If I do come to this location it is a quick in and out errand and/or because they have an item that the other Walmart's around do not have. I also have been seeing many warnings about men following women around the store, who are shopping by themselves, at this specific location! Please be aware of your surroundings, yourself, and do not hesitate to go up and ask an employee or security to walk you out to your car if you do not feel safe. Please beware especially if you're a WOMAN a single parent, or just a person struggling already as it is in this expensive world do not ever trust this Walmart!!!! I went to Walmart because my tire was flat, since i work across the street i thought it would be the best option, knowing i wouldn't make it anywhere else. When I pulled in at around 5pm a Hispanic male that checked me in got my information told me that he saw a warranty and that it would take an hour in half I had no problem with waiting. I really just wanted to get it patched or get a new tire. I waited about 20 minutes and another employee a white male approached me in waiting area and said ma'am your tire is not fixable, you will need a new tire. I asked about warranty and he said well I will need to process it before I could tell you okay well yes I want to know my tire is flat I cant go anywhere (I mean you told me it's not fixable I was thinking my car already in garage up and tire off) no I go outside and my car still in parking lot where I left it. Still not a problem I just want my tires fixed but I'm thinking how you know it's not fixable by just looking at it. So he pulls it in comes back & says there is no warranty oh ok well not sure what or why the guy that checked me in told me but ok. I asked why is it not patchable he says there's a nail ok can I see where the nail is, he says yes and I start walking he says well hold on, he then goes to proceed to lift my car and started looking at the tire like he stalling, well the guy that checked me in walks up and the white male says there's no warranty on her tire I looked and she wants to see where the nail is. The Hispanic male never talks to me he goes to my car with the white male & they both looking at my tire and seems like they can't find the nail. Hmmm, the Hispanic male walks past me inside never says a word & the white male then tells me there is no nail, your valve stent is broke, he then says you want that replaced um yea again I'm there for a flat tire which I purchased my tires at a Walmart but not that Walmart and he's asking me do I want it replaced. Now here is the problem Not only did they never apologize but the Hispanic male was one of there managers. They really are out here scamming people I was too tired to argue or act crazy. Instead I'm writing my review going to call the general manager call the news outlet because this is pure evil, people are struggling. Walmart is a multi million dollar company and you telling me y'all as mangers are lying to people to make more money or trying to pocket money for yourself. Whatever it is it's evil and Walmart needs to really do something because this is not right. Usually I try to give a positive review but this store was sooo bad I have to share. I usually don't shop Walmart but came here because someone wanted to pay me using their services. I went to the CS desk and nobody was there. Waiting wiry me we're other customers patiently waiting. After 20 minutes, finally a very slow walking man showed up to assist the customers. After I finally got up there, he told me that I needed to go to the money counter which is s by the registers. I walk over there and once again nobody is there. I waited about 15 minutes and finally a woman showed up. Well the person sending me money didn't send a screenshot and while I was waiting to get a response from him, I walked a bit away from the counter. When I finally got tue information, she had left again. After literally 30 minutes, I went back to the CS counter and asked where tue clerk went. He told me nonchalantly that the computer stopped working and now it was closed. Mind you nobody said anything or left a sign indicating this. I was not the only customer wondering what was going on. Then while I was there I went over to the clothing and wanted to try on a few things. You guessed it, nobody was there. All the changing rooms were locked and not an employee in sight. Several other customers were standing around waiting for assistance. I finally walked around trying to find a mirror but there wasn't any. I asked a passing employee where the mirrors were and he told me in home furnishings. So while I wasn't buying a mirror, I pulled one out of the box and tried on the clothes over my yoga wear. So very Walmart. So I went to the registers and they only had two people working there. Fortunately the self checkout was available but there were 4 machines broken and it wasn't taking credit cards. So I paid with cash and got the hell out. After walking out from the automatic doors, some crazy man was out there yelling profanities at me and anyone else leaving the store. It's a wonder this store is still in business. They must have a shortage of employees. read more

Walmart, aside from the fact that I pretty much hate them and feel like they destroy small business I still have to use them for goods late at night sometimes so I might as well go into some detail about the things that only frustrate me more about Walmart every time I go. It's common for a store to have only one register open late at night. Walmart however has decided to have no lanes open.. they simply have a you check your self out lane and that's it. I dont like the idea of checking myself out.. why would I do that when I could have someone else do it for me? When this trend started I instated policy that I would only check myself out if I were given a discount for doing so seeing as how they initially had to pay people to check me out and I figure if I'm checking myself out I should get something for it. So I come in today to pay a utility bill at their Money Center area, store hours posted say 8AM. I walk in the store around 810, no one is there so I grab an item I need, head to self check out. Still No one is there. I ask the young black male working the desk, if he knows who's in Money Center. He walks me over to the Money Center and this large scale Hispanic front end manager, very rudely and demanding, tells him to get back to his station. He walks back to his desk and she's yelling across the main isle by the cash wraps "THATS WHAT I LIKE". All I could think was this woman has actually lost her MF mind to talk to a young male like this but an employee. Even after I let her know he was helping me and where's the employee that works at the Money Center. She's has an attitude saying she's in the bathroom she'll be back, and walks off. Idk what high horse she's on but she gotta come down from there. There's no way you talk to someone like that and think no one is going to notice. She was so comfortable saying it I'm sure he's not the only one she disrespects in that manner. I'm back at the money center, still no employee. I walk to Customer Service that's closed but there are three managers are holding up the wall I guess. One is Store Manager "Lupe". I ask her, where is the money center employee, hours posted say 8AM, it was 830. They don't know, she in bathroom, she's on break who knows. Store manager tells me she's on break. I asked again, where is an employee who can help me in money center, I've been waiting for long enough and need someone to help me asap. You don't send someone on a break who's the only one at an area and don't have a replacement. ON TOP of that, you're a manager. Walk your ass over the money center and help the customer who has been waiting. A gentlemen walked over from the Home area to help me. He was Very nice. And it's unfortunate that the managers treat their employees like that. But hey, it's Walmart and somehow everyone's shocked employee turnover is bad. I called the corporate customer service line, left my complaint but who knows where that will go. The person was clearly outsourced and is not in this country. I've ran multiple stores and now run my own businesses and I would never in my life disrespect an employee or disregard a customers needs. For a short staffed store there's absolutely NO reason the managers should be posted at a closed customer service area watching the lights flicker or whatever tf they were doing. RUN the store you're getting paid to run. Unfortunately I'm sure Walmart Corporate will not rectify this situation, but store manager needs to go along with the front end manager. read more

I bought an air mattress while traveling which ended up being broken and didnt hold air. Since I was on the road, I wasn't near the walmart I purchased it at and decided to return it once I got back home since the website didn't mention anything saying I couldn't. At this point, I didnt have the box anymore since it took up too much space in the car and the walmart website said it wasn't necessary. Once I got to this walmart (with my receipt), Jennifer at customer service (who was giving me attitude the entire time) told me I can only exchange it since it was opened which I was fine with. The only problem is their air mattress selection was terrible with maybe one or two options so I grabbed the closest thing to the original one which was $5 less. She refused to exchange it saying it had to be an even exchange despite the fact they had NOTHING with the same price telling me my only option was to go to the original store which like I mentioned isnt any where near here since I was traveling. I asked for a manager and Que came to talk to me and tried to find any excuse to not exchange the air mattress including not having the box (which the website says you dont need) and it not being the original store. They said everything possible to not have to take this return and take a hit despite walmarts terms saying otherwise. Avoid this store at all costs. These employees dont deserve work and should be fired. read more

Went there 24th Dec 2022, saw a police guy talking to three people who appeared homeless. Overheard him telling one guy...."don't say anything...don't do anything....let...know...watching you. At the time I thought they were stealing, but realized later they were undercover loss prevention and he was briefing them. But I'm curious and listen until the cop leaves. Then the 'undercover' woman says to the others: "See that guy there! (me) He was watching us. I bet he was about to steal something until he saw us." The epitomy of stupid! Most of the employees at this store have big mouths with vomit constantly spilling out as they gossip about customers. Looks like a magnet for bad employees. The delivery service is more often wrong than right. If you order a pound of hamburger, you'll get 4 pounds of ground pork. Tried to lodge a complaint , but no one will answer the only phone number they have. Shelves will have long stretches of empty, and that was pre-shortages of 2021. Chill case meats got way out of sell by date. Go to the back of this store and off to the right you see a store without all these problems. read more

This Walmart is not set up for any kind of electronic wallet, so after you have shopped for two hours because you are used to another location, do you won't be able to check out animals then they will tell you that they can't even hold your stuff for you until you can return with a physical card. The store is dirty, there's trash and boxes everywhere, and people are so rude. When I walked in, I asked where I could find a cart since there weren't any in the bag, and the gentleman at the door, pointed out into the parking lot in the rain. After they told me, they couldn't hold my order, the nasty girl at the self check out started literally throwing all of my stuff back into the cart, while I asked to speak with a manager to find out why they couldn't simply just hold some of the items. Walmart is struggling to keep up with Internet shopping, but it's not doing the right things to fix the problem, which is that nobody wants to go to their store and be treated like crap. I made three phone calls before I finally got ahold of someone in the South Park Meadows store. I gave him the WM Item number and he went to ck but never came back. Worst service and I recommend the Store Manager retrain each department in the area of phone service and departmental customer service. The inventory system is lacking since the item number could not be found by the associate and it showed inventory online. The problem with a store this size is that the Store Manager looses the communication with employees to be customer minded. Wanted to stop and make a quick purchase for conditioner and a prescription. What should have been a 20 minute trip turned into 45 minutes because rushing I forgot my receipt and the door guy did not let me exit. I walked all the way to the other end of the store and had to wait in line to have one reprinted!? Finally after 15 minutes to talk to someone who supposedly could help print a receipt, the girl found my transaction by me giving her the last 4 digits of my card but she could not figure out how to print my receipt?! First she said maybe it was too old a transaction, then she said maybe it was too new? She sent me to customer service where I had to wait again to speak to someone who also did not know how to do her job! So "I" suggested that they could just radio to the guy at the door that they saw my transaction on their computer. She said oh yeah we could do that, I'll let her know to do that right now. It takes me another 3 to 4 minutes to walk back and explain it to the door guy for another 2 minutes and STILL NO RADIO CALL!!!! I I finally decided that I just didn't care if they wanted to tackle me and be sued and embarrassed over conditioner and hair gel then F*** it. I just left and told him thank you for the photo and not to worry as I'd be posting this on yelp. He never apologized for any of the inconveniences so I don't give a F*** about putting his name out there. All the while through my interactions with other employees and him, other people were coming and going as they pleased without showing a receipt!!!! This store is horrible when it comes to them answering phones. I ordered a blanket online for my mother that had a picture of her parents on it. I was told it was delivered to this Walmart and that I would receive an email from THIS Walmart letting me know it arrived. I NEVER received an email and I NEVER could get through to this Walmart over the phone. I called customer service 37 times and NEVER got an answer. I called Pick up 25 times and only got a recording. It said to text or leave a message if I had questions. Mailbox was full and let a text and never got a response. I called Walmart.com and they considered the blanket lost!! My car over heated Thursday and my mechanic is coming tomorrow morning to fix it so I ordered the coolant and oil because he's gonna do my oil change and the bring me the wrong oil. For south Austin, this isn't too bad of a place to shop. Management seems very helpful and check out clerks are always kind and friendly. The only thing negative I could say has nothing to do with this store in particular but for the company as a whole. It truly upsets me that of the top 10 billionaires in the United States, 3 of them are the children of the founder of Wal-Mart yet they don't seem to care about these awesome employees at all. No benefits, horrible hourly wages and they're viewed as products and not as people. These people have families and need proper food, shelter, medicine, clothing, etc just like all of the rest of us. Change your ways Wal-Mart and start treating these employees the respect they deserve. And when you do, you'll see a massive turn around from both employees and customers alike. Productivity will go up for your company and your employees will be far better off and therefore, loyal forever. Until then, you are frowned down upon and your founder wouldn't approve of your shady business practices. So aside from my rant, I do love this store due to the good people that work here. This Walmart didn't have anything in stock when I needed it, I wanted a display port cord and there wasn't anyone in electronics to help for ten minutes. The self check out lines were all full with no actual line formed and it was crowded. So this Wal-Mart is one of those places where I go here if I have to. The selection of items here is hit or miss. They are usually out of what I am looking for. We are fond of pearl snap shirts in my family and not just any pearl snap, but the Plains pearl snaps. Wal-Mart carries them. This location sucks when it comes to finding any. This is regarding the tire and lube (automotive) dept. I bought the more expensive full synthetic oil "change". They drained the old oil out ok, but they forgot to put new oil in! Of course I didn't find this out until a month or so later when my car started making funny noises. Checked the oil and it was bone dry. Zero signs of leaking under the car or on the driveway. Luckily I added more oil and the noises immediately subsided. I would rather pay more money and do my own oil changes than ever let these people touch my cars again. read more
