I am writing to share an outstanding experience I recently had at the Tire Center at the Walmart location in Mission Valley. From start to finish, Victor and his entire team provided exceptional customer service. I would especially like to recognize Clifford, who did an excellent job installing my tires, and Armando, Gilbert and Yasmin, who took the time to assist me with tire placement and thoroughly explain the entire process, including the replacement of all my tire sensors. Every step was clearly explained, and no one rushed me or made me feel dismissed. Victor truly stood out as a leader. Despite the Tire Center being extremely busy, he took his time with me and made sure I felt informed, comfortable, and valued. The entire team treated me with what felt like VIP service, which meant more to me than they may realize. I want to note how meaningful this experience was for me personally. I have previously had very negative experiences with other auto service providers in San Diego, (Pep Boys and AutoZone) where I felt misled and taken advantage of. Because of that, I was very nervous about having my car serviced again. Victor and his team completely changed that for me by being honest, patient, and professional. Their integrity and care restored my trust, and I am genuinely grateful. I was so appreciative that I even brought the team donuts as a small thank-you. When I went to Walmart the other day, there was a lot of empty shelves. Also, the store did not have two items that I wanted to buy, even though their website said, they were in stock. None of the employees greeted any of the customers and everything cost $1.00+ more per item since I was there last time. I understand the price of gas has gone up, but $1.00+ more per item. I came to this Walmart to resolve an issue with a defective DVD. A team leader named Mirage asked me to come back to the store so they could inspect the item, so I made a second trip specifically for that. I explained that the disc was damaged and did not work, and that I was not willing to attempt to use a visibly damaged disc. After looking at it, I was told they could only exchange it for the exact same DVD and that a refund was not possible. One of the team leaders said the cashier was supposed to tell me this at the time of purchase, but no one did. There was also no signage on the shelf, at the register, or in the return area explaining this policy. When I asked where this was stated, I was told it was related to "copyright law," but nothing written could be shown. The overall tone of the interaction felt dismissive. I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve the issue, including returning to the store when asked, but was ultimately told there was nothing further they could do and that I could pursue a bank dispute if I wanted. There seems to be several folks that have given poor reviews for this store and yet, my hubby and I clearly felt that this was not the case regarding our most recent visit. "Samantha" - a team leader; took the time to patiently answer 4 or 5 questions as to the location of items that were on our list of items to purchase. She knew the store inside out and more importantly, gave us the sense that there was nothing more important for her than our needs. We truly felt like valued customers and Samantha probably saved us 20 minutes with precise directions to the exact isle we needed to go to to find our desired product. read more

CHEAP NEEDS (3.5 stars) I'm not really a Walmart shopper (although when I walk up in the mix with messy hair, pajamas, and a roll out of bed look - I feel like a regular). I don't knock on the place because they do offer cheaper products and prices on merchandise and falls within the means of the average American. And for myself, I'll occasionally I'll come in to grab something here and there. Well... I'm also a giver to the community. Prior to pandemic I would spend a lot and donate annual to food banks. Then I refocused on donating to pet rescues. Where I buy a lot of things for the bang for my dollar is always here at Walmart. Recently, I did a run here to donate to the LA-fire victims days after the chaos. It was the perfect place to focus on baby stuff, feminine products, and animal items. I used to love this Walmart, before covid. After that they've gone downhill and it feels like a decision made at the top. They no longer open the checkout at the gardening end of the store ( or if it is, I haven't seen it open in the last 5 years ) and that's a reason for me to stop coming. A lot of us prefer that checkout down there. We park by those doors and plan to make a small/quick purchase and use that checkout. Walmart must be cost-cutting or something. The parking lot and store are a mess. I used to blame the customers but now I see it different. I had a drink I was finishing as I came into the store and was looking for a garbage can everywhere. There were none at the gardening entrance, no trash cans once inside the doors, no trashcans around the store ( I kind of get that one ) and nothing at the exit. Now I think I understand why I always see garbage left in the shopping carts or parking lot. Maybe those people WANTED to toss it out properly but Walmart has intentionally removed trash cans. Cost savings for them, but now there's trash everywhere. That's on Walmart, not the customers. That floor-sweeping robot just gets in the way. I was part of a traffic jam at an intersection where too many people/carts converged in one place at the same time. Without that robot cleaner, people could have used common sense to get around each other but with that stupid mobile traffic jam robot in the way, it was just super frustrating. Normally Walmart employees are some of of the most depressed and disillusioned people on the planet but at this location they were able to bring it down a notch. It was palpable how much people that worked here didn't want to be here. As a customer, I didn't want to be here either. This was my last time coming to this Walmart. It's dirty, disorganized, unfriendly, and you can just feel how a company has cut every possible corner until there's nothing left. I'll shop anywhere else. read more

Push the button again, sucker. I go into the personal care area and the thing I need is in a locked case there. Just to the left of the case is a button to signal an employee to come unlock the case so you can BUY the item you need. 20 minutes later I'm STILL waiting for an employee to show up and 3 other people waiting there with me have given up and left without the items THEY wanted out of the same locked case. This Wal-Mart doesn't even TRY to Bother to answer the signal button - and they lose hundreds of dollars worth of business per day because of this. They apparently do not care. Push the button again, sucker, and wait a whole hour ... we don't care if you buy anything or not!!!! We're not coming to help you, Ha-ha-ha-ha. Add to that the fact that they never restock Items: and there are just big empty holes on their shelves where the product you needed was ... things like Fish Oil or Body Powder - I was forced to go to CostCo or Smart and Final to buy those items I needed. They do not care about the lost business there, either. I don't recommend this Wal-Mart - the whole chain has gone downhill in the last two years: and this store is leading the race to the bottom ... with epic Customer Dis-Service. read more

We are so grateful to the team at the Walmart on Murphy Canyon Road for helping us when we were in a difficult situation. Our car battery died at another location, and we were directed here because they had the battery we needed and could install it. Had a pickup order here & all went well. Multiple stalls were open & the parking lot hadn't got chaotic quite yet. I'll only ever pickup at this location, there is way too much going on to mentally prepare to step foot on the asphalt. My experiences with pickup have been great so far. In store, not so much. I will say, I wish they'd get a handle on the aggressive line of donation tables you have to get through to go in to the store. Even in the parking lot..it's incredibly intimidating being approached by a MAN from behind while I'm strapping my child in asking me if I had anything to donate towards his music album..when I declined he had the nerve to let me know he had cash app & Venmo since I didn't have cash. The people in the front will literally block you from coming out to get you to listen to their message or sign some petition. read more

After the worst service when Andy's Automotive idiot couldn't start my battery with their defective cables or didn't know how to hook the properly - had to wait longer for someone else to charge my battery. Walmart took all the cars in that day. I didn't get there until 5 (had planned on 1:00). Josh saw my distress and fit me in. They installed it immediately. The service guys that work in the tire department are the worst. Don't go there for any tire needs, they will not help you and are very rude and extremely slow. They will try and talk you out of getting any work done by saying it will take 8 hours. Store is stocked with many different products, but lots of items are cluttered in random places. The store can use some organizing. Our cashier was in a grumpy mood. She was screaming for customers to change to her lane and mumbled under her breath when it took too long for her to get people's attention. I do like the prices. Nothing wrong with the items in the store. Its a Walmart like most other Walmarts. While shopping around, most of the employees look miserable. I asked one employee if she could point me to the cakes. She directed me to the boxed cake isle. I asked her if they have any pre-made cakes, and she replied "Do we look like a bakery" My issue occurred at checkout. My magnetic strip malfunctioned and the cashier said I'd need to step aside. I asked her if she would manually input my card number and she said Walmart doesn't allow that because of fraud. At 1015 I asked to speak to the General Manager (Bobbie) at the customer service desk. They paged her and said she'd be with me shortly. 15 minutes later, the customer service representative said she would go look for her. When she returned, she said she couldn't find her, but a different manager would be with me shortly. At 1045, Roy approached me and asked how he could assist me. I asked him if I could speak to Bobbie and he said she was in a meeting and wasn't sure when she'd be available. I asked Roy why Walmart doesn't allow manual entry of credit cards and he said because of fraud. I pointed out that manually entering a credit card gives the cashier an opportunity to verify the name on the credit card against my ID. His response was "We just do what we're told". I insisted on speaking with Bobbie at this point. Roy said he would pull up the policy for me. 1055, Roy returns with the Walmart policy that said credit cards need to be swiped or chipped to be used; this information didn't explain WHY. Roy said the managers do what corporate tells them, and that was the best answer I was going to get. ****MAKE SURE YOU'RE MAGNETIC STRIP WORKS BEFORE GOING TO THIS WALMART!!!! read more

Some of their prices are great. Period. Unbeatable even. But... How much is your time worth? Because that is the trade off. Your time and inconvenience to save a few bucks. I always get annoyed here. I come back to Wammie Land from time to time because my memory sucks I guess. This time? Pickup? Yay, perfect solution? Not!!! Waited for 45 minutes to pickup ONE ITEM.
