Tips: - Parking can be a bit crazy in front of Cineplex and…read morethe mall entrance facing Kingston Road with the huge Dave's Hot Chicken sign. Pack your patience. - Pickle Barrel and Moxie's are a part of this mall, but are standalone buildings on the property. - Farm Boy is a part of this mall. It's good. I like the fact that the original name, Pickering Town Centre, is still alive and thriving on Yelp. The mall changed its name to The Shops at Pickering City Centre. I remember disliking the longer name. I don't call it that. Neither do the locals. It's like Rogers Centre. It's still SkyDome to me. Markham doesn't have a Farm Boy. The Farm Boy at this mall was my closest location until the Sobeys on Laird recently got converted to a Farm Boy. This location is my second-closest one. It's decent, especially the custard tarts and the hot foods. I have been to this mall several times recently. I've been to both Pickle Barrel and Moxie's for a late lunch on two consecutive Saturdays. The former has brunch and happy hour specials on weekends. Moxie's has brunch twice a day, every day. I enjoyed everything that I ate and drank at these two eateries. This past Saturday, I visited the Cineplex that's a part of the mall, but I didn't see that you could enter the mall through it. It has two VIP theatres. It's lovely. Staff were amazing, the food was yummy, and I loved my VIP experience. The downside is that parking was challenging to find an available parking space. It's funny that I haven't explored what the mall part looks like these days. I guess old habits are difficult to break. Growing up, my parents and I would come to the Pickering Flea Market. At one point, it occupied the back parking lot of this mall, facing highway 401. This flea market moved locations over the years, but eventually ceased operations during the pandemic. It was in operation for over forty years. I need to hit the food court. It has Edo Japan and Bourbon Street Grill that I like. I need to explore and figure things out. It's a decent mall. I need to come here on a weekday and see what the parking scene is like. Hopefully, it's better than my Saturday excursions! (185)

Soooo this is a Saks *OFF* 5th. It is strictly an outlet store that exists based on its discount…read morepricing on labels. Think of it as an upscale Winners - fancier labels, bigger and brighter displays, a more organized store...and none of that weird Winners smell. There are designer brands here but you'll also see a bunch of brands that don't jump out at you. Some of the items are probably the reject items from last seasons line but the store is enormous. If you're patient enough, you can probably find a great deal on something. Most of the items are heavily discounted and the amount of savings is prominently displayed on each of the item's tags. In general, the prices are a little bit higher than what you find at Winner's but the quality of the items is better. I was able to find a cute faux leather jacket for $60 without too much time spent in the store. Mission accomplished!

Nothing like Saks. This store is NOT filled with the things on sale at Saks Fifth Ave. It is filled…read morewith stuff that is literally made for outlet stores, like off, WAY off the rack Lagerfeld in some horrible polyblend that never saw the inside of the real Saks: blech! I saw a few legitimate deals: some real fur scarfs 50% off retail, some decent down parkas on sale before winter (Pajar, Rud), some out of season but real designer sunglasses (Chloe, Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Prada, etc.). But I saw some really low-price brands too: Steve Madden, Ivanka Trump, Matt & Natt, that do not represent any kind of a deal. I almost bought a Missoni scarf but found the whole experience so tacky that I didn't want to buy it and remember I was ever there. If you are looking for real design and quality just pay for parking and shop the sale items at the real Saks at Yonge and Queen.

I was looking for something to wear at an upcoming event and was headed to the plaza up the street…read morewhen the store sign and outdoor display caught my eye. I'm so glad it did because I had no idea there was this consignment store here for the past 35 years!! It's changed owners over a decade ago but it's still family run and super friendly. Selections are a good range, and most people shopping at the time successfully found goodies. Prices will depend on the brand and quality. Whatever it is, you'll be paying much better than usual marked up retail prices. Just my luck they were hosting an additional sale and I managed to find a few pieces. I will need to get some alterations but I'm super thrilled to have found some great stuff for a good price. The pieces are kept well, good quality, and they have about 3 change rooms available so you can actually try the stuff on. They've got all sorts of clothing from casual to business wear to semi formal and formal. You can find all sorts of styles too. There's a huge section for formal dresses at the back half and I recall she mentioned they have another location that specially has bridal wear. They also have some jewelry and shoes. I definitely look forward to coming back again soon and hope more people discover them so they can stay in business for a long time to come. The staff here are incredibly friendly and so is the owner! They're not pushy about the sale and seem only concerned about making sure you have a great time shopping. Love the vibes! Also, great music playlist! I'll definitely be coming back to find some treasures.
