First, things are pricey here. I'm not sure if it's just the extra trucking required to come all the way up and over to Anacortes, or if these are Washington prices, but there were a few moments of sticker shock as I stocked up my cart for the next week and a half of eating. Produce and meat especially, though there are certainly still steals and deals to be had. I've been here twice, and both were over the holidays. It was elbow to elbow shopping and the parking lot was a zoo--if it's a busier time or season, be prepared to hunt for a spot to park. Safeway is one of those "member card" places, where everyone can be a member and you have to swipe your card or punch in your phone number. At some point, we all agreed that instead of just selling us the products at the price they definitely can, that we would let them track us and our shopping habits and harvest our data by swiping a card every time we shop. It's asinine, but that's how they operate. There's a Safeway gas station across the street, and I've filled up there twice before going to the San Juan islands and paying island fuel prices. It's not a bad move, and the ferry is just down the road. All in all, pretty convenient if you're headed to the islands and want to stock up before the prices go up to island sticker shock levels.

The blonde cashier was very nice and even got me a lower price of one of my meds with Fred Meyer's discount card program. Then she offered to set up auto refill so now my med just fills by itself before I need it. Super helpful and I will be coming back for any med needs!

This is exactly why I specifically ask the pharm tech if my prescription can be filled BEFORE I give them my prescription. On Sunday 11/26/2023, I was told my medication was in stock and would be filled that day. When I came to pick it up, four days later I was told it hadn't been filled and could not be filled. The pharmacist then began screaming at me from behind two rows of cabinets in a VERY rude and curt tone. She was 100% out of line and completely unprofessional. I work in customer service all day and I know when to stand my ground and be firm. I was NOT raising my voice, I was not accusing anyone, I just told them that I was informed my medication WAS in stock and my prescription should've been ready on 11/26/2023 for pick up. Had it NOT been in stock, then I would've kept my prescription and went elsewhere like I have previously in the past. For the actual pharmacist to speak to guest in this way is not good mannerism. She wasn't even a part of the conversation I was having with the pharmacist tech. Someone needs to have a chat with her and ask her if this position is something she should continue pursuing or if another career choice may benefit her attitude accordingly. I've already had it with Fred meyers Lakeway location, now your Bakerview location is treating their guests horribly too? Y'all need to step your game up fredmeyers. So disappointing. I make an appointment online, check in by phone from parking lot, and rarely have to wait beyond my appointment time. Results are quick to MyChart. My only complaint is the tiny parking lot, but now I usually plan to park on the street, as the lot fills up quickly. Otherwise as a lab they're the best!

There's seldom even a wait of a minute or two. Check in is super easy and the phlebotomists are always diligent about the necessary tests checking and rechecking their information. The lab is easy to find. No one likes a blood draw but the Mount Vernon lab makes it quick, easy, efficient and they are friendly from the front desk to the back. 90% of our experiences in life begin with us. Go with a positive attitude and you will experience a positive outcome.

12/27/23 My mammogram at Skagit Health Women's Imaging…read moreCenter was not a nice experience. It was a painful and stressful event and I was ready to walk out & go somewhere else. Today's visit at Skagit was similar to the previous time I had my mammogram at Skagit years ago. I had only used Skagit this year again because I had learned that they had new equipment that they didn't have the last time I used their service. That apparently was not what caused the painful event. Skagit may not properly train their employees who work with the women & their breasts. I am a thin 62 year old woman who has had mammograms at other health centers for many years in the past, however no other place but Skagit has done this to me. Today I continually made it clear that what was happening wasn't tolerable. The tech continually made it clear that she needed to do what she was doing because the radiologist needed it. The tech & I worked together to finish the event but I will not ever be going to Skagit for mammograms again. The office people were fine. I've been taking my son here for about 5 years. My son was…read morehaving an extremely painful ongoing and somewhat baffling problem and after ending up in the ER again, the doctor there was very concerned and made some calls to see if a colleague he knew would be interested in taking the case. That colleague was Dr Lowe at Skagit Pediatric. She is a lovely caring person and her gentle yet no nonsense manner has been just right for my son (and me). She has advocated for him time and again for a variety of reasons. She's called his school to make sure they have been adequately (and legally) supporting him. She's called in various other specialists whom she's thought would be helpful. She's monitored him consistently over the years and is the person responsible for getting his health back on track. Dr Lowe has spent time getting to know my son. This is no easy thing. I don't have enough characters to go into how important this is for him. The second he even slightly senses condescension or the person who's too flippant and thinks they know where he's coming from (they probably don't), he shuts down. If it's bad enough (for him), he will fire them as his provider. He doesn't mess around and Dr Lowe has passed every hurdle with flying colors. With that said, he has also seen several other providers at Skagit Pediatric when Dr Lowe hasn't been available and every single one has been thorough, caring, and really listens. The receptionists at the front have never been anything but nice and caring. Sometimes a bit disorganized but never rude or dismissive. I've spoken with them on the phone many times and in person even more. l've also seen them handle any number of other people and l've never seen anything other than friendliness. Despite the difficulties that COVID has presented, we still have had nothing but proper, friendly care from Skagit Pediatric.

This does not work for us since I have limited PTO, and I do not have the ability to predict when my daughter's asthmatic airway was going to be reactive to the cold weather. They gave terrible customer service because of a cough and we were seeking medical attention to have her breathing medication renewed since the prescription expired. They followed COVID protocols to the extreme, and they do not take into consideration that the parent knows and understands their own kid's health. My daughter did not have a fever or shortness of breath. She has a reactive airway and the cold weather makes it reactive. My daughter is allowed to have a cough. My daughter should not be denied medical care for their convenience. This is a terrible practice that eliminated humanity from their protocols.
