This Wal Mart is a joke. The garden center check out is absurd because they have 4 registers but the cashiers don't tell you if they are open. Kirsten, or something similar that works in the back is beyond rude & I would tell her this to her face IF I return. She had the nerve to tell me, "I told you there was 3 other lines open" when we were standing by the fish tanks with the line backed up. How the f*** was I suppose to hear her from there? She also told me she could get the manager but I said don't bother because the lines stay backed up. They are in desperate need of a new system to work the lines in the garden center. I suggest going 6 miles up the road to Atwater Wal Mart, much better customer service & everything overall. read more

So I shop here pretty often because it is the closest Wal-Mart to my house. It is the dirtiest Wal-Mart I've ever seen, and I've NEVER had a good experience with the employees, including the cashiers. Recently, my boyfriend and I were looking for a chest freezer, and we saw one online that Wal-Mart sells. I called the store and asked if they carried it. I was told no, they don't carry large appliances, ever. I asked to speak to someone who could physically check, because I had seen it in there a year ago. I was put on the phone with the woman in charge of all the ordering for the store and she told me they didn't have it. I said, "It says online that you have it in stock at the store." She told me it was wrong, that it messes up all the time. I asked if she could physically check for me just to be sure. She put me on hold for five minutes and came back and said, no, we don't carry it here. My boyfriend and I went to the store the next day and they had three of them out on the floor. We bought a freezer from K-Mart. The employees that I have encountered here are rude, and not very good at their jobs. Go to Super Wal-Mart in Atwater, at least it's cleaner. read more

I typically do not shop at Wal-Mart, however today I was brave! This place was by far the most disgusting retail facility I have ever stepped foot into! The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting; looks as if no member of management or maintenance team has entered that restroom in weeks. The floor throughout every aisle was as if someone had stepped in gum and tracked it through the entire building! There was an associate mopping in the main aisle near the freezers; the floor was so filthy that the mop left a muddy mosaic on the floor! I would not recommend this store at all . They are dirty, there was nothing to clean the carts with. So much for keeping safe during covid.safty must not be a concern. The floors had merchandise all over the place. I almost tripped over hangers. I seen floor associates gossiping rather doing their jobs. The selection is not good either they don't have half of what was on my list including cigarettes they were completely out of of cigarettes. The older man was nice when checking us out. I had to drive 15 min to atwater walmart to get what I needed. And to be honest It was well worth the drive I had no problems getting everything on my list. The staff were nice and helpful. The store was clean. Over all atwater walmart I would give a 10+. I won't shop at merced walmart again I'll just drive to atwater, at least I know I am going to have a great experience and be able to get everything on my list with out tripping over hangers. read more

Walmart has everyday low prices and for families and people who wants to save money for whatever reason, this is their go to store. I was driving home during a sudden downpour when one of my wiper blades fell apart. I was on the highway, luckily near an exit. I took the exit and drove straight to the Walmart store in Merced, CA. I pulled into the parking lot to check to see if it was a total loss or could be popped back on. While I was looking at it,one of the automotive service members came over to see if I needed help. He looked at the wiper blade and told me it needed to be replaced. He walked me inside, selected the wiper blades I needed, walked me straight to a register then walked me out and installed my new blades for me. I was on my way home in less than 15 minutes! I don't live in town, so there was no way for me to drive home. Ernie, you helped me so much, thank you, thank you, thank you! This WalMart mcdonalds is the worst one I have ever been to, I ordered a medium orange juice and two egg mcmuffins and when they handed me the bag it was just a clear plastic bag like you would get at a grocery store....and when I took a sip from my orange juice it was extremely warm and I took it back and told them it was warm and they told me to just put ice in it...also the WalMart looked dirty as hell. I just returned from my adventure to Walmart in Merced. I have never been more appalled at the condition of the store. The shelves were half empty, meaning I didn't get half of what I went there for. The place was a train wreck. I spoke with the assistant manager and she said they are aware of the condition and are working on it. It's been this way since they opened. Just extra bad today. I do not recommend this store to anybody. Hopefully the new one going up in Atwater will be an improvement. Otherwise, the few cents extra at SuperTarget is worth it. read more

I've been to this Wal Mart many times. I've heard the Madera Wal Mart 30 miles to the south is even worse, so I can't complain too much. Its Wal Mart, whaddya expect? I've been there enough times to know the tricks to dealing with it. I don't bother asking employees because I prolly know more than they do about their store. I went to the Walmart store in Merced, CA at 7:00 AM to have an oil change done. There was one gentleman working somewhere in the background. A second car was already behind me and after waiting a while I went inside the store looking for someone to help me. After tracking down the gentleman that I saw in the first place he finally took my order at around 7:10 AM. At 7:26 I noticed that there was nobody working on my car. I talked to the department manager and she told me that there is no technician on duty despite the fact that the store is open at 7:00 AM. She offered me either to wait or to come back at a later time. Since this happened to me before I asked for the car. She wanted to drive it out for me. Apparently she could not get it started and asked me what is wrong with my car? There was nothing wrong with my car. It was a hybrid and running only on the electric engine. What an incompetence of a department manager! What a waste of my time. I wish the gentleman would have told me in the beginning that there is no mechanic on duty! read more
