I actually like this Walmart and I usually can't STAND Walmarts. They're always dirty, crowded and filled with all kinds of "interesting" junk without a price. I'm also not impressed with their supposedly super low prices. It's all a gimmick to me. Well, this store does a good job of being like a Target-my favorite large retail chain. Brightly lit store, well-organized and pricing very visible. The employees have always been friendly and helpful. I'm not a Walmart convert by any means but I don't cringe at the idea of going into this location. It probably helps that I've only been during the day on weekdays. read more

I love this walmart. I could shop here everyday if i wasn't worried about spending to much money. I like that they have a optometrist at this location which is very nice and concerning. My son bought his glasses and contacts from this location and he had a time applying the contacts and the Dr was very reassuring and patient with him. She wanted to make sure he got it right and was comfortable . She scheduled several appointments for him to practice and she didn't charge us extra for that. Way to go Doc. Anyway he finally got it right and he is very happy with his purchase. They also have a eyebrow shop inside that will do threaded eyebrows or the regular at a reasonable rate and they always give out coupons which of course is a good deal. Sometimes I get scared at the thought of going to Walmart but this one is A-OK. Everything is laid out well in the store and pretty organized whenever I've been here. Parking is easy and the parking lot is decently lit at night. I don't think I would go alone when it's dark just to be smart but it feels pretty safe. I couldn't find any notecards though? Nice, clean, and big store. They have pretty much every department. I bought food, cosmetics and a sewing machine here. I'm very excited about the sewing machine and have already made some stuff. Staff was helpful and friendly. There are toy vending machines at the entrance. I won a toy there too. Overall, a good visit. read more

The customer service here is horrible, 4 phone calls to get to the furniture department (1 call was a 20 min wait no answer) (2 call was 10 minute wait no answer) (3rd was a hang up on their part) and last I just gave up to talk to a supervisor cause I was waiting again. Worst part I still didn't get to the furniture department lol smfh. I'm surprised they even have 3 stars cause it seems they must have some ghetto, trashy employees there that obviously need help in more than one area other then customer service. It's clean, yes. But of 16 registers, they only open three. It's becomes truly annoying when you are in a rush. This is the case every time I shop here. The employees also aren't very friendly, but it's walmart, so I don't expect kindness here when I spend my cash. read more

BEWARE OF THEIR AUTO CENTER! I had a bad experience at your Hanover, MD auto center. After waiting for 30 min, with no other cars in the garage, The "technician" put the car on the lift, and brought me back stating he is not going to repair my tire because it was worn out. I explained to him that it isn't down to the wear bar, and isn't worn out. He said there is no tread and he can't fix it. I explained that I used to install/sell tires while i was in college, so I know that it is not worn out. He got upset that I knew what i was talking about and told me to leave. The supervisor said that he has to take the work of the tech because he is "walmart certified". The tire has at least 5/32" of tread remaining, its within legal limits, and should have been repaired. The scam to get me to buy a new set of tires failed because I actually know what I am talking about. read more

I really don't much like visiting Walmart for their various Corporate policies but the wife likes the bargains. Normally it is way too busy and I think you need crowd control more than sales associates but visiting when everyone else is working is a good trick to avoid lines and the crowd. Store appears to be restocking which is always a good sign for business. Check out was smooth and fast as well as the friendly staff like Carlitos helping us get out fast by his check out lane. He was engaging, made eye contact and was appreciative of the business we just conducted. Store appears very well managed and kept very clean. I call this particular walmart last week to see if they blew up balloons for you and they said yes. I came the day of my baby's party and before buying the balloons I stopped by the Walmart customer service desk to ask one more time about the balloon services and once again they said yes. I go in go buy 10 dollars worth of balloons and make my way to the customer service desk and they say they don't blow up balloons. That they didn't even have a helium tank! wtf Walmart you're all a bunch of idiots who don't know how to communicate with each other and you still want 15 dollars per hour. Pfft. Be Aware of your surroundings at night. The past few times I've been to the store at night 70% of the parking street lights werenot working. I was lucky enough to get a park right up in front. If that spot was not available I would not have gone in. I went to the Wal-Mart off Quarterfield Road a few nights later and the parking lot was very well lit. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I brought my car in for an oil change at 8am on a Saturday morning and when I drove it not even 0.2 miles out the door after they "finished", my car wouldn't shift. I took it back and had them look at it again and their manager had the audacity to tell me that they are not liable and that she had 2 other customers and WALKED AWAY. She did not review the tapes of her employees like she said she would, she didn't even have the car back in their bay to review what happened before she determined they wouldn't do anything and walked away. After she left, I refused to leave without them fixing my car. A different technician brought my car in to look over it and determined they overfilled my oil, and claimed my car was leaking transmission fluid. Walmart checks your transmission fluid levels and I had paperwork from them stating their check not even 30 minutes prior showed my transmission fluid level was fine. There is no way my car "leaked" all of my transmission fluids in the 30 minutes it takes them to do an oil change without them personally draining my fluids or taking notice of my car purging fluids that are not related to an oil change. Accident or not, I don't know because their manager refused to check their tapes, but do not trust this service center. Do yourself a favor and pay the little extra for a dealership to service your car. Dealership technicians require an actual education on all aspects of your car and certainty more training than "which fluid do I drain" which this place clearly cannot handle. read more

The best customer service out of any Walmart in the DMV area! I recently purchased two bikes online and had it shipped to this store. They were able to install the bikes for me the same day as pick up without any hassle. The employees were very helpful and extremely friendly unlike other Walmarts in the area. I was about to give up on Wal-Mart but this location has restored my faith! It was very clean, organized, every employee I ran into greeted me with a smile and asked if I needed any help! I was pleasantly surprised to find a Maternity section (by the women's intimates and baby section)! It was a bit small but Maternity items nonetheless. They don't have a fresh produce section but that's not a deal breaker for me. Considering even the parking lot was clean and it's right next to Costco and that's right next to Arundel Mills, I just might make this my go-to route when I have household shopping to do. read more

All Walmarts are the same wherever you go and whatever city you are in. My sister and I needed to buy some toiletries for the weekend. This is the worst experience I have ever had as a consumer. It took me two days, and two separate trips to this Walmart service center and I still did not receive any form of acceptable customer service. The first trip I was trying to pay my rent as the online payment service was offline. I went to my closest Walmart to pay it via money gram. There was only one, older woman with gray bangs tending to a long line of customers. I waited in the line until it was my turn and explained what I needed to do to the employee. She dismissed me, told me I needed to fill out a form and get in the back of the line *note: she had previously taken 20 minutes to open a TV box for another customer. I did as she said and waited in line yet again until she waited on another customer and let her fill out the form at the counter. I left livid. Today I came back and filled out a new form before getting in line to be prepared. I get to the front and the lady from yesterday is there again, but I am "helped" by another woman named Cynthia. She informed me that the form I had was the wrong one. I pointed to the lady that I saw yesterday and told her that she was the one who said I needed the form. We got to the point of me inserting my card In the reader and the woman walked away saying it was time for her break. No one came to relieve her and I was stuck waiting for help. There was no way I was going back through the line so I left without ever finishing my task. Worst experience. read more

It's known that Walmart is supposed to be a joke with customer service. My husband can't believe I really like this Walmart. I've had my fair share of Walmart from other states and came across rude and incompetent employees. This is one of the few twighlight zone of Walmart's. Employees don't avoid me! They greet me (not the greeter but those inside) and ask if I need help! Like I was shocked by this and it's not a one time thing! One time, I had an employee really take his time to help me instead of give up and lie! They also had no attitude about it. Shocker! They're also well stocked. I was appalled by the level of customer service today (9:30pm-10:15pm). I went into the store to return items I purchased a week ago (one with receipt and one without receipt). The customer service manager named Tasha was very unfriendly from the start when we first went up to the register. She lied to me saying that I will have to take the item I purchased at the Columbia location there (Walmart policy states it can be returned at any store) and that I would have to go find an open registrar somewhere else to get the refund for the item without the receipt. Then she changed her words again saying that the registrar was closed so I'll have to bring back the item without the receipt (store closing time is 12am). Thankfully, another associate named Donna stepped in and she was able to refund the item from Columbia and process the gift card for the one without the receipt. Already upset from the condescending attitude and discriminatory treatment, I went to buy something small to make sure that the gift card worked correctly. On aisle 1, an associate named Akiel charged the item on the gift card but there was an error with the transaction (balance information not shown). He called several people over for help and finally Tasha came by to approve the request (she commented, "why are you calling me here for?"). It is evident that the employees at the Hanover Walmart store needs correctional and reinforcement training on customer service. I left this place sick to my stomach having been treated this way when I came in simply to make returns. I hope the store manager will take this feedback seriously and take necessary steps to improve the way they operate and treat anyone who comes through those doors with respect and common courtesy. read more

First off they didn't want to help me, made it seem like it was more to do then it was, had me call the main branch of money gram and the person on the phone told me they were suppose to call. Save yourself the headache and go to a different store. The time you waste waiting for someone to help you or in line will be more than the time you spend driving a few extra miles to go somewhere else. I ordered photos through one hour photo. I was told I'd receive an email when they were ready for pickup. After 4 hours had passed with no emails from them, I tried calling for a status update. I was transferred twice to the photo center but no one ever picked up. I called back several more times and no one answered at the customer service center. I decided to drive to the store and waiting at the photo center for over ten minutes for someone to walk by or show up to help me and the 5 other people waiting in line. Finally a gentlemen shows up and says he has no idea when my photos will be ready. He goes on to say the machine wasn't currently processing an order and he doesn't know how long it will be once he gets the machine processing again. He says he will call me when the order is ready but it may not be today. I purchased one hour photo with the expectation that my photos would be ready in an hour, not the next day! I went to the front of the store to speak to a manager and was told by several cashiers that they didn't know where I could find one. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! read more

The store's pick up system and the assistant store manager Walt are very bad. They told me my order has been lost because the order is very expensive. And they still sent me an email to inform me to pick up. When I arrived, they told me my order is not there which wasted my gas and time.
