This was my first time visiting this location, I recently changed jobs and now I work in this area. This location is a bit smaller than most, but still has all the regular sections. It is definitely busy on the lunch hour, but it is also 3 weeks to Christmas, so that could be why. The parking lot was packed, but it is a strip mall with quite a few other stores around. Prices are always pretty good at Walmart, and I was able to find a fun Bluey squishmallow for my daughter, at a decent price. This location has a huge self check out section with two entrances, at least 16 self checkout stations, and only a few regular checkouts with cashiers. I didn't have any issues with this store but it did not wow me in any way either. Depending on what I need, I will probably be back in the near future. read more

This store is well stocked and pretty clean .. the one thing is THERE ARE NO BASKETS ANYWHERE !! EVER! I have gone to other Walmart stores and they have baskets available.. are people stealing the baskets from here ??? I came in today for a few things and have been here before. This time I brought a bag - bring your own to use as a basket. Produce looked really fresh , as did the bakery . This store however doesn't have that same feel as others .. I don't know what it is though . As for self checkout, I know it's not peak time but only three open seems low . Lack of carts, and in store baskets has made shopping here very inconvenient and not worth the time to do anything in the store. The items in the store are often dirty and disorganized as well. Price is good but it doesn't make up for the fact of what it's lacking. read more

I came into Walmart on 98 ave and 50 street looking to get help with a photo item. Marilyn and Margarex where so helpful, kind, and grateful that i came to their store. The have pride in being part of the Walmart team. The helpful hints and understanding of what i needed and wanted was amazing. This is a Walmart location like most others. It has good restrooms and many checkouts. It is not the largest one in town but it has the reliable items sold at most Walmart locations. It is well served with a bus station nearby and ample parking. This strip mall has a number of other shopping options in it as well. read more

It's my local super market and it does the job. It's not huge so there are usually a few things missing or understocked. But hey ho - I'll still go because its in a convenient location in the Capilano area, it had ample parking and there is a secret McDonald's hidden at the back of the store! I find this is a great top up food shop to go to for a few items but if you've got a big shop on your hands you will never find everything on your list. The home section is decent too and they do have a lot of home wears, which I enjoy a wander around from time to time. The Christmas section is out and it's great. So many festive treats and decorations in there. I've been in a few times for candy and novelty chocolate for stocking fillers. read more

It's kinda legendary about how under-stocked this Walmart is, but I don't mind it. Since I live in the neighborhood, I'll often find myself coming in and wandering around if I'm in need of, say, ketchup chips and ant killer and a PAW PATROL pool and a Judas Priest album. And it's open until eleven, if you really want to see some of Edmonton's best decision-makers in action. Ok so I'm not leaving the house for days-have a slight sore throat that I probably got off my time release vitamin c bottle- left over from last winter's cold- so I ordered on line at Walmart for some bunker necessities to last me a few months. I noticed they had 6 for $6.00 poutine, which is way more than one potato with a tablespoon of gravy and 10 grams of cheese should be but way less than the $7.00 this would be,minimum, in a bar. (They'd actually charge you more in a bar but you'd get more poutine) so I've compensated. Instant Poutine is nice to have around when you're housebound. Anyhow when I got my order, I noticed that my poutine was regularly priced and my bill was about 12 dollars more than I expected because of the other rollback items and quantity discounts. So I mentioned it to the super friendly gal who had helped me with my groceries to the car. (We kept our social distance). The next day I got a call from a super friendly and polite guy who gave me a number for the place to check this sort of thing, dispite me being a bit snippy with him and asking if there was a real person behind this number or if I were just going to be hung up on after an hour. So out of curiosity I phoned the number. I was on hold for 50 minutes, and during that time with help of the answering machine message the played over and over while I waited, I figured out how to get to their flyer check site. They have a form for this sort of thing and I filled it out. You need to find your order no. to do this so it took me awhile. I was still on hold so I decided to start a yelp review. Not easy. This location of Walmart has their address on line but I was not able to copy and paste it. It was like they had a copyright on it or something. So I took a screen capture and copied it out by hand. I had just successfully done that when the phone was finally picked up by the Walmart phone version of their website. A very polite man tried to help. He couldn't find my bill from my name so I had to find that number again and give it to him. Took about .5 of the time as it had the first time. Anyhow I don't know if my online form had worked or what, but all my sales were now incorporated into my correct bill and he told me the changes would be returned back to my credit card in 3 or 4 business days. Kind of a big waste of time for 12 bucks but I have more time than money right now anyway. read more

Not all WalMarts are created equal. Generally, I'm not much of a fan, but the WalMarts in Victoria helped me out tremendously due to their extended hours. The WalMarts in Victoria also featured wider aisles and superior quality merchandise. This one is showing its age. All I wanted to do was buy a humidifier and an analog bathroom scale (we bought a fancy scale previously and it malfunctioned). The humidifier selection was OK, but I could not find a type of humidifier that I wanted at a reasonable price. And in terms of analog scales, they had a couple that appeared as if they would break within a year. The greeter had no idea where I could locate either the humidifier or the scale and the customer service line was much too long for me to wait in (fine, christmas was only two weeks ago). I walked out with a couple of bungees and a bag of cornmeal. read more

Seriously Wal-Mart? In my original review I mentioned some gift tags that I ordered back in December that mysteriously went missing. Even though I received both a phone call and an email message letting me know that they had arrived, the clerk assured me that they must have been referring to other items that I ordered at the same time, not to my gift tags. WRONG. I got a phone call the other day from the photo centre letting me know that my "8x4" prints were in. I thought this was particularly odd since I've never ordered any 8x4s from there. Regardless, I decided to stop by to check it out. After spending 10 minutes searching, the people at the photo centre finally managed to pull out an envelope with my name on it. Low and behold! It contained my gift tags from back in December. When I asked why I was just receiving these now even though I ordered them so long ago, the person argued with me saying that I must not remember the dates correctly. There are two things wrong with that: 1) who in their right mind would be ordering Christmas gift tags in the middle of April?! 2) the envelope had a handwritten note on it that said "received December 12, 2011." I think that speaks for itself. I hate to downgrade the whole Supercentre to one-star based on one bad experience with an exclusive department so I'll leave my rating at two-stars. However the photo centre gets a big fat zero from me. How disappointing. read more

The Walmart is disgusting, it smells bad, it's run down and the staff are not friendly and unsure of what they are doing

I've been getting prescriptions filled here for 6 months nobody told me until today I needed per-authorization from insurer to get one prescription. Not only that I had waited 1.5 hrs by that time. Tell me when I drop off prescription it's called CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

It's a toss up on this Walmart. Clean, well stocked, got some great deals, lovely greeters and helpful associates. I'm here at least once a week so that's quite consistent. The thing that drives me crazy is there are rarely, if ever, enough cashiers. An average wait is 4-7 minutes. Today only one lane with a monster line up and the "quick" lanes were swamped with another huge line. It was so bad I spoke to a supervisor and she assured me she called for more cashiers. I feel so sorry for these overworked cash staff but I think Walmart is to blame. We just put our merchandise down and left. read more

I'm definitely not a big Wal-mart fan but this store helped me out so much and saved me with my wife Christmas present. I had previously visited the Wal-marts in Sherwood Park and 167th Ave Edmonton. In the Sherwood Park store I couldn't find anybody to help me at all. The 167th Ave, I must have spent an hour in there trying to find my particular gift. I asked staff, they were uninterested, I asked customer service, they said they had them in stock and told me where they were. But they were not there at all. So I left and on my way home from work I stopped in at the Claireview store. I like to look firstly by myself before getting help. I didn't even get to my destination before I got approached by a staff member asking me if I'm finding everything. I told her what I wanted and she took me straight to the product. YAY. \o/ Fantastic customer service from this young lady. I've never seen that before in a Wal-mart. I may have to come back for more items. Now only if they could sort out their website! read more

The sales associates in the electronics section are less attentive to customers. This shopping trip makes the 5 time I have been ignored when trying to buy an item that is locked to the shelf. The teenagers working in the section do not think older patrons would be interested in buying electronics though I am in the section texting on my very large Samsing Galaxy Note 2. I will continue to take my money elsewhere. Also as a experienced floor walker I have noticed customers shot lifting more than in the past. The staff morale in the store also has gone down. In addition the cashiers are getting slower and slower most of them give off a I don't want to be here plus over worked. The few times I am in now there are not enough cashiers to handle the line ups. read more

If you are looking for information about the products they offer don't bother going into this store. Most of the staff know nothing about the products they sell. However, it is Walmart after all and what more can you expect. The only positive thing is that it is convenient, other than that this Walmart is pretty bad. read more

It is a smaller older location and I find it is not always stocked. I like how it isnt as busy as the other bigger new ones. But I would like it if the staff were more aware of things in the store. I seem to always ask the new staff member or the one who has no clue what I am asking for. But other wise I do enjoy shopping at this location. read more

Staff is unfriendly and not helpful. It's impossible to get anyone's attention because as soon as someone walks by you that works there, they tend to just not look at you. I was in a Customer Service lined that had about 10 people in it. The woman working behind the Customer Service was all by herself and was slow (not her fault). A Manager came by and paged other people but did not help with the line. The greeter paged a manager to help but no one came. Why do they have managers working if managers are unable to help? I've been scolded by the person "helping" at the self checkout for too many items even though there is no sign that says you can only have a certain amount of items if you are going to use the self-checkout, and so when I got kicked out of that line by the person working in thatsection, there were only two other customer lines open and both had line-ups that were 5 people long. What's amazing about this Walmart location is that the customer service is consistently non-existant and I have never seen or been able to get a hold of a Manager. It's honestly no longer worth it to go there. read more

I will say for an older looking Walmart it is laid out pretty nicely and they do a fantastic job of keeping it clean! Probably the tidiest Walmart I have wandered through for quite some time. Unfortunately though it is also the most understaffed Walmart I have shopped in as well. Lines were long up front as well as in the portrait area and electronics. It was also difficult to find staff members out on the floor which made me wonder if the tidy shelves should be credited to the overnight crew. In a neighborhood like Capilano which has a large amount of retired citizens who can shop at their leisure you need to keep your stores well staffed throughout the day and not just on weekends and late afternoons. I generally try and avoid making purchases at Walmart unless it's close to the holidays and I need large quantities of wrap as well as greeting cards and there is nothing here to really make me want to change that habit. read more
