Went this morning to exchange an item I purchased at Long Beach Walmart a bit earlier....mind u last time I wanted a refund for bad snacks and she told me all I could do is exchange for the same item....this time I actually WANTED TO EXCHANGE FOR THE SAME ITEM and she told me all she could do is give me a refund and I buy it again! I was very impressed by this location! I usually patronize the Normandie location, but I didn't want to deal with the parking lot. So I decided to go to the Compton location and it was a pleasant experience, I ended up spending more than I anticipated because they literally have everything!!! Ok, so everything the people are saying about the pickup orders is true, but my biggest problem isn't with the wait times or the employees, its the people. These employees are working there butts off, in the rain with an influx of multiple orders, during the holidays. They have 30+ spots open and everyone coming at once. I literally circled the parking 3 times and so many people fighting and cutting people off for a space. I just refuse, its never that serious. Yall, I know its the holidays, but dang give some grace. I accepted an order through Spark Driver, stood at the place and checked in the application, waited an hour, my order was not brought out, went to ask the employee where my order was, to which I was told that they would bring it out now, another hour passed, went to ask again, they said that it "disappeared" somewhere, went to talk to the senior manager to clarify the situation, he said that someone would come to me in the parking lot now, another hour passed, returned to the store and asked to call the senior manager again to say that no one approached me, they said that the manager would come now, so I stood for another hour inside the store waiting for the senior manager, conclusion: more than 4 hours were wasted, no one can give an answer what is wrong with the order since it is still displayed in the application as "being completed" for me, the worst attitude towards people that I have ever seen. read more

Oh my gosh, my entire narrative about this store has changed! The lemon pepper chicken from the rotisserie market was incredible. I usually enjoy shopping at Sam's Club, but I think I'm going to make this my new spot. The store was able to cater to all age groups, which was impressive considering that my auntie is 91 years old and my grandmother is 86. This store truly touches all brackets and demographics. I was very amazed by the overall experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the variety of products was excellent. Before going to this location, I make a list on the app and check in store stock availability. Other than that, this Walmart is similar to other Walmarts: Cheap prices. Free wifi. Long self-check put lines. Rude store associates who are preoccupied with texting or other store associate chatter. Store associates take their sweet time to retrieve items out of locked cabinets. A plethora of visible store associates, but very few cashiers. Long lines due to a hand full of cashiers. Store congestion throughout the day. Expired products on shelves. Long lines in customer service. Lose shopping carts scattered throughout congested parking lot. I would recommend that you check dates on all the food products before placing them in your cart. Check the Walmart app or mobile version of website while browsing the store for products. It will tell you the aisle of the products in your search. I wouldn't count on a store associate to help you. Some will. Most won't. Although you can access the driving entrance to the store from Long Beach Blvd and Bullis Road. The walk in entrance to the store is on Bullis Road. Since moving near this location we have gone a hand full of times. The deli department could be a hit or miss. Our last visit we did here was horrible since the worker at the deli didn't want to sell us any deli meat since he had already cleaned the machine. The store was still open and it was just 7pm. We were disappointed and had to drive to another Walmart further down to get what we had went for. We gave them another try yesterday and was totally different experience. Daniel from the deli department was so friendly and gave me a slice to try and asked if the thickness was fine for me. This Walmart is really trying, please don't blame the patrons for tarnishing the Walmart brand. Now with the closure of the 99cent store and Dollar Tree hiking up prices a lot of people in this economy really rely on the quality and pricing of the "Great Value" brand. Sure there are chances of a fight breaking out at the check stand or at the Customer Service desk but at the end of the day the associates and the management are just doing their job. I like their selection of fresh produce, meats, baked items and other essentials I buy from here. This is closer and cheaper than target and checking out is a breeze when there is someone leading customers to the next available register. There is no fresh deli counter or a restaurant like other Walmarts. That statement can only be true about this particular super center. I have never seen a place that had half its items locked in security cases. The wait for someone with a key to open up one of these cases is a standard 10-15 minutes at any other Wal-Mart. This store doesn't even deserve one star. Honestly I came here since I was just passing by and it seemed like the closest option. First I want to say that the workers are getting treated so poorly by their bosses, as I was checking out the employee looked extremely unhappy and they started to mention how "Donna" the store lead has verbally abused employees and how she has all these unfair rules on them and how it's even hard for them coming to work knowing that she is there. The employee expressed how she even talks about employees personal issues with everyone around her. Honestly Walmart HR needs to look into that because as a customer we're not going to get good service because they're working under harsh conditions that puts them in a bad mood. No employee should be verbally abused and work in such horrible conditions. I've only visited a few times and the parking is hectic, the CS is not great, the patrons are sketchy (especially at night) and the isles are a mess. I found a half eaten donut in the wine isle.
