The Service was good, The Selection was better than most Walmarts I've been to, the value was pretty much the same as any other Walmart, but the most important part of this all was a scooter I found on the floor of the furniture isle, Fred the scooter was amazing, no workers got mad about me riding it so, 5/5 stars very worth it. read more

While, as an American living in Calgary which I have totally fallen in love with due to the meeting some of the nicest people anywhere, I normally loath Wal-mart. Somehow, though, Wal-mart's in western Canada are different than their US counterparts. The stores appear cleaner and the staff much more helpful without being overbearing. This particular Wal-mart is located next to Deerfoot Mall, off of Exit 263, Alberta 2/Deerfoot Trail southwest of the Calgary International Airport (YYC). As stated previously, the staff are much friendlier here. This is a full service location or "supercenter" as it's normally called complete with a photo shop, an electronics and smartphone department, customer service desk, pharmacy, full grocery store, and a McDonald's for those so inclined. It also has a Western Union service centre as well. The store is open daily from 07:00am to 11:00pm. I wish the store was open to 01:00am instead but apparently, all the stores of this type close at 11:00pm such as Safeway and the Real Canadian Superstore. The store has a nice layout and is usually well stocked. If it is not, normally, you can find an associate whom can tell you when it was last in stock and when the next stock should arrive. The cashiers at this location are pretty friendly and fast which for any other Wal-mart or other store for that matter is almost an seemingly impossibility. I almost never had a problem with the cashier or the cashier station. Usually clean and the card machines work flawlessly. There is ample parking and is next to Deerfoot Mall which also has a Winners, Smart Deals @ Stupid Prices, and a LW (Liquidator's Warehouse) (a part of Big Lots company). So, if Wal-mart does not have it, you do not have to go far to find it. Heck, you can even walk. I'd like to give 3.5 stars but I do not have that option. I would not say I am a fan because of so many bad experiences at Wal-marts in the US and in China but this location, I can tolerate with relative ease. Note, depending on your location in the store and the strength of your device's antenna and as a Shaw Cable customer, there is Shaw EXO Wifi in the mall so be sure to login to your Shaw account and register the MAC address of your smartphone, tablet, phablet devices to use it! read more

For some reason Walmart is one of my favourite stores. I go in thinking I'm going to be 10 minutes and spend only 15 bucks but the end result is that I spend 45 minutes in there and 150 bucks. I like this location, it's really close to my house. The cash out is fairly fast as well. The produce isn't to bad, sometimes the stock is very low which is inconvenient..you wanna go in to buy iceberg lettuce but you can't because they have none or its brown.. If you go to this location you might see a Dove flying around the odd time! But yeah this location is convenient, fast, clean and not always busy! read more

I really have nothing bad to say about this Walmart! Now that it is a Supercenter, I do all my shopping here. One thing I do notice, if they have a good deal on a product, its most likely going to be sold out fast. Its always a high deman product too, so I know it will be restocked soon. read more

Rip off store but it doesn't surprise me. It's Wal-Mart. My husband bought our granddaughter a winter jacket. She wore it twice and the zipper broke. When he went to exchange it they refused saying that maybe he didn't buy the jacket there. Even though he had the receipt!!!! I told him to quit shopping at Wal-Mart. You get what you pay for. Pros Competitive prices - Also a con as the quality of some items such as socks has gone down considerably over the years. You get what you pay for. One stop shopping - Can be a one spot shopping for housewares, tools, groceries, pharmacy. Freshpet refrigerated cat food is sold at Deerfoot Walmart, and one of the few places in the city I can find it. Cons Customer Inconvenience During the retail apocalypse, Walmart has decided to make it more inconvenient for shoppers by installing those loonie lock shopping carts. I never have a loonie to unlock a cart so I frequent the store less often, and I only use a blue carry bin. The pro here is I buy much less. Grocery Pickup Was good at first until somebody hacked my Walmart account, changed the email, and used my Walmart account to purchase themselves a Nintendo gift card. I now no longer keep an online Walmart account. Had to cancel my visa, change my email, and call Walmart to complain. Now need a loonie to unlock shopping carts.Need a loonie to unlock the shopping carts. I never have a loonie on me, so I use a basket and don't impulse shop. I have not used the pickup service since then. I simply don't shop here as much as I use to, and the main reason is the shopping cart issue. I prefer to shop online rather than be inconvenienced by locked carts, or have my account hacked when using the grocery pickup service. I mostly just go here to pick up cat food now, since this is the only place near me that I can find Freshpet. So I go in every couple of weeks and buy cat food and there will be just enough room in my carry bin for eggs, and maybe a litre of milk. Walmart, unlock the grocery carts. read more

I brought 2 fruits loops cereals the other day at this walmart and forgot to use the vendor coupons. The next day went back and was told by a rigidly trained staff that she cannot accept the coupons and that the coupons rectification can only be done on the same day of purchase. Also tried to price match an exact item on sales at Superstore but was told not able to because I don't have the wholes flyers. I expressed my disappointment and was refer on to a supervisor who simply agreed with what her staff said. I did not spend more time there as time already wasted and there is no point with no flexibility in staff and management. I am very dissatisfied with the customer service. I have been in similar situation before and no issue to do same at Safeway and Superstore. this has got to be the cleanest walmart i've ever been. traffic and parking is a bit of an issue but that's on rush hour and on weekends so that's kind of expected. come here weekdays in the mornings and you're walking through breeze. good and big selection of international foods and organic and gluten-free groceries read more

This is a review to the Deerfoot Mall location. I always go to this Walmart and on the 29th of December, I decided I need a snowbrush a few other things. Everthing was going according to how it always has been until we checkout our items. The male cashier was talking to his buddy the whole time he was serving people before us and up to after he was done checking our items out. He did not even say hello or anything just kelp on going on and on as to how Walmart doesn't pay him enough to buy food and that he's got $300 on his credit card. Blah blah blah Would you believe that after all is said and done and I get home only to have left the snow brush... Yep you guessed it at Walmart. I was somnot impressed since it was paid for. Of course with Walmart it is a bigger hassle to go back and ask for a merchandise you never got than to buy a new one. The same story across the Walmart locations. Management that seems less than interested in the customers and the staff. Staff who are not well trained or also not interested in their jobs. Product not entered into the system. Not willing to sell you product. Yes, you can get a variety of products sometimes at a fraction of the cost of standard grocery stores but often at the cost of your sanity. Recently moved to Calgary, needed a few things for my house. This was the closest walmart. I went in for a few things, I needed help finding something. I had to go all the to the front to find someone , she told me someone should be in the area, she found him talking to another worker sitting down. I went to the check out line. The shortest one, there was two people ahead of me. I ended up waiting 45 minutes in the line up. Every walmart I have been to is crazy busy, but 45 minutes in the line for 5 things is pretty ridiculous! Poor customer service. read more

was surprisingly not great, totally different than any Walmart I have been. I normally can count on finding what I need at Walmart locations all over the world. Poor selection, hardly any sanitary pads or personal care selections. They only have bear spray by internet order (who would come to Calgary and want to buy bear spray but then go online to order it? Stupid) I paid 20 bucks for a small Swiss army knife, which in passing through other stores during my trip I found this was a good deal. We bought the bear spray for $40 at Cabella's in the same square as the Walmart. read more

My son and his girlfriend went to Walmart on Jan 1st around 8:45 pm -to this particular store - 52nd Ave & 11th Street. Outlet deerfoot mall. When they parked their car - the cart attendants were standing around - close to his vehicle. When they came out - approximately around 9:15 - they noticed they were still standing close to his vehicle, again. My son noticed his driver's door scratched - and then once they opened the doors - they noticed the items they had in their vehicle were scattered and then they realized they had been robbed. I-pd was missing, speakers etc. My son quickly asked the cart attendants if they had seen anything - they took off. My son went into to the store and the store manager -evening - basically told him - she could not do anything -it was his problem - and that they do not look after the parking lot that a security company does - but they were not working that evening. Wouldn't even question the fellows if they had seen anything. We now have realized they stole several items in the vehicle - damaged his door badly. The pushed the key part right in. Marked up the door badly! Police report has now been submitted. Received a call from the store manager - several days later-- not their problem - shopper beware of the store - Walmart hires people that steal from people's vehicles!!! No respect for other people that have dealt with enough in 2009. We will never go to that store again. Please do not Park your vehicle there!!!
