I went in here at about 8am this morning and was greeted at least 4 times in a friendly manner, went back to the electronics section to pick up the latest video game and someone actually walked up to help me. The game wasn't on the rack, and I became dissapointed. Guy behind the counter though, was like, "oh, that one? It's right here in this box we haven't had a chance to put up" Score. Walking out employees told me to have a great day. Strange as hell. I guess the moral of the story would be, if you're going to go, go in the morning before maybe 11a. Anytime after that, I can tell you this place gets 2 stars. None of the above will happen, almost guaranteed. And F that excuse for a parking log. This is by far one of the nicest Walmart I have been to. The staff is very helpful and they walk you to your item if you have a question instead of just point it out from far. The store itself is clean and the shelves are well stocked. It's not a super Walmart but they have almost everything. We enjoy shopping here unlike some Walmart where they lack service. read more

Walmart is always an experience. I (used to) come here because I want to get household products at low prices. It's always packed and the people who shop there are always oblivious to anyone else in their way. The employees are rude and un- knowledgeable about the products they carry and where they are located in their own store. We used the self checkout today thinking it would save time. We are both pretty skilled at scanning products with barcodes and know you have to place the product on the weighted shelf for it to register correctly. The machine still kept coming up with errors and we had to wait for an employee to come around to clear the error. Always an annoying, exhausting, and brain cell losing experience at any Walmart. I have since boycotted Walmart and am happy to spend $0.75 more on a product to purchase it at Target. read more

I went to this walmart after being exasperated with my experiences in the Potomac Mills walmart. This walmart is smaller, and located in a fairly nice area. It's not nearly as crowded or dirty as the other local walmarts. The employees, aren't very helpful, but that's to be expected at walmart. They're no worse than other walmarts, so I don't fault them for this...I know how crappy they're treated. read more

So, went here one day and got horrible service. I had to ask several store employees where this specific item was and it was they did not speak english well, I couldn't understand it, or they just did not know where the heck it was and pointed me to go ask someone else. Why didn't I go to the customer service place? NO ONE WAS THERE! Anyway, a few days ago, I called this walmart up to check up on an item if they had it in the stores (versus online), and had to call several times in order to get through and such. Uhm. Bad service. The person I've spoke to in the department I was transferred to, curtly told me they did not have it in stock and hung up without letting me say anything. Avoid this Walmart. This is my neighborhood Walmart. It was one of the early Walmarts in northern Virginia. It is in a location originally built for another department store. The store is small but offers a reasonable selection of products that one would expect at a Walmart. I go there when I am looking for standard items that I know Walmart offers at price lower than most other stores. Go somewhere else if looking for high quality products; shop here when price is the main objective. read more

This is a small Walmart in Burke. It is clean and organized, but like most Walmarts, the layout isn't necessarily intuitive. The employees are friendly though so ask them for guidance. In-store pickup has proven to be slower than coming in and grabbing it yourself if it's a few items. I tried it out today and it's a whole thing. Could be cool if you have a ton of things you're trying to buy, or a hot item you're trying to secure and pickup vs wait for delivery. It's an ok Walmart but the selections are limited. If you need to grab some things, this Walmart will due, but if you want to do a big Walmart shopping spree...drive further and find a larger Walmart with more shopping options as well as more parking options. read more

This is a smaller store than most Walmart stores. Even so they have surprisingly everything you need. The employees are always nice.

Don't get me wrong I know it's Walmart & not Nordstrom, I get it! It's smaller than most & not 24 hours. Pros: Low priced merchandise, I guess having an eye to know WHO can actually help u. Cons: the parking lot, toilets not near front of store, congested designed layout of store, limited stock. Yes, I'm seriously reviewing walmart. I've been to many a walmart, as most middle class americans probably have (who doesn't like to save a penny or two?) but I have never been to one where the employees are as friendly as the Burke Wal Mart (they deserve capitalizing). The people who work here are helpful, friendly and know where virtually everything in the store is! I've gone in asking about pretty random items before (inserts for shoes, S'morz cereal) and whoever I ask is always able to point me in the right direction; this has not always been my experience at other wal marts. As far as wal marts go, this place gets three stars (I would give them more, but the store can get very crowded messy at times which does not make for a pleasant shopping experience). read more

I have been shopping at this Walmart for over 10 years. I have seen significant improvement in the past year. Staff is more friendly and helpful. This walmart has a grocery store, pharmacy, and decent selection of everything that you need. Very good prices and easy to get around. Downsides to this Walmart: a little dirty, horrible parking lot, staff is hard to communicate with and rarely roaming the store if you have any questions. I had a wonderful experience at the pharmacy this week, I got a prescription for $4. I thought they were joking when I got the bill. They were extremely nice and helpful. read more

I'm at this Walmart as I write this review. It has been thunderstorming for the past week and tonight there was an electrical surge that reset the systems in Walmart and none of the registers were working. This happened about an hour ago and the registers are still not working while customers are waiting. None of the employees or management have said anything regarding this issue. Some of the employees are standing at the front just laughing. Management here is truly incompetent. At least say something to the customers. Perhaps an estimated time to see how long it will take to fix so customers can decide to either wait or leave accordingly. read more

Impossible to get any help by phone or In the store. No one understands the questions. You'll get passed around from dept to dept. Staff are not of any assistance at all. Don't go there unless you know what you want and where it is or don't waste your time there and go to Target instead. read more

I like this Walmart I have done there in-store pickup twice before and I got my stuff with no hassles I picked up my Febreze wax melts today I ordered two Sarah the assistant mngr. took care of me she was really kind and nice. I just wish the only thing is about this Walmart is that they would get more selections of there Febreze Breeze wax melts..but there main stays home selection of wax melts are good too! read more

It's a Walmart. It's supposed to have everything. But I couldn't find ONE beach towel that was meant for an adult this weekend. I found some Disney ones, but I'd like a beach towel that was at least at tall as me. And I'm not very tall. I even talked to 3 associates and all of them directed me to the bath towel section. Anyhoo, the rest of the store is your average Walmart with a decent dry food section, sports, electronics, and garden center. This is the closest Walmart to my home. Parking is always crowded. Customer-service is always friendly. It's a very quiet and peaceful Walmart to go to. Let's face it though the store is really outdated and needs a major makeover!!! Selection is always slim and the store is kind of depressing. This Wal-Mart is... Ah, Ok. Its small but they have the essentials. If you're looking for knowledgeable employees to help you. I wouldn't go here. In fact, trying to find an employee in some sections (i.e. sporting goods section) is like playing Marco Polo when all the fish are out of water. You won't find anybody nearby- don't bother to wait for an employee to show up at the counter (rookie mistake). You'll need to be proactive to find them yourself. They are very understaffed here. This walmart is long over do for a make over. The parking lot is too small and the store is frequently over crowded. Everything feels jam packed and cluttered I grew up in Arkansas with super walmarts and this feels like a sad excuse for a walmart. Between this and a grocery store, you might never need to shop anywhere else. And if they have something, you can usually bet they have it for about as cheap as it's going to get. For things where style matters (clothing, furniture), you may want to try the Target down the street, where the clothing is more fashionable and the furniture more elegant, or Kohl's, which is also nearby and has good prices for a better range of clothing. For appliances that you plan to have serviced, you may want to try Sears, where the service department is excellent. For anything else, you'd be wasting your money at Target or Sears and you're better off at Walmart. read more

No one to help you load mulch in garden department. Employee asked man stocking shelves, but he refused. Asked another, he said "no, mulch is too heavy." Had to go to store manager who asked the cart guy. He tried, but wasn't as strong as I ( a 72 year old woman)... So we each took an end and loaded six bags of mulch. Have shopped here for 7 years. Not a large store, thus missing some offerings. Their management has succeeded in hiring helpful staff and on every occasion I've had a customer service desk action (return/adjustment), I've left satisfied, including last night. Some of the checkout people are very nice and have been there for eons, but in general this place is a zoo and checking out is always problematic. Heaven help you if you need to return something. We live in Burke and come at least once per week. Twice, when I encounter employees from India. One accused me of steal a feather I bought from One Dollar store. The other just yelled at my face when I asked if I got all of my bags out from the rotating bag station. Small Walmart. Store is lacking in groceries. But the store is fine. Biggest problem is the parking lot. Every time I visit I come away with a door ding. Lot parking spots are way too tight. Much tighter than normal parking spots. I shop here as a lack resort. The store staff and store itself is fine, just a small Walmart with horrible parking lot.
