It's Walmart. Thankfully this one isn't as crazy as some. You'll still have some "People of Walmart," but this one's quite normal. As a weight lifter and runner, they have whey protein at a decent price. Also they have some deals on groceries. Considering inflation, this is helpful. As for selection, this one is good. They have a nice electronics section, along with automotive as well. Thank you to the folks who make this happen. went to the Birk Walmart today with the desire to get a spray can for a DIY project. when I was back in the department, there was no one there to assist me. There was an older gentleman in the hunting department. He was waiting on a customer. I asked him if he could unlock the cabinet. He told me I was going to need to wait. It was a long wait. This employee was oblivious and was in his own time zone. Clearly, he was unable to multitask. All he would've had to do was make a call and someone would've come to unlock the cabinet. I had to go to the front of the store and find someone to open the cabinet. A kind employee, GOY,was able to come and open the cabinet for me. What an ordeal! I needed help with a boxed above ground pool. It clearly stated to ask for an associate for help due to the heavy box. I asked 5 people to include a manager and received zero help. Be extremely cautious using their self-checkout system. It will ask you whether or not you want a printed receipt. ALWAYS GET A PRINTED RECEIPT. Walmart has a track record of accusing people who mistakenly forget to scan an item, or for whom the system did not register an item, of theft. If you do not have a printed receipt, you will have no way of defending yourself. ALWAYS COMPARE THE ITEMS TO WHAT IS LISTED ON THE RECEIPT BEFORE YOU WALK OUT THE DOOR. I used to work at this store 2013-2018. I like coming in here to do shopping. Last time I came in, as I left, I had a literal 1-second encounter with a Male employee named 'Haris'. I guess it's not surprising that management at any Wal-mart would allow an employee with a "team lead" notation on their name tag to wear a t-shirt that says "people...1 star" on it and allow them to talk about how much they don't want to be there in front of customers etc, etc., but it is disappointing. What I can't abide by is how completely rude "Zali" was to me in customer service just for having the audacity to exist and try to make a return. The appropriate greeting is not "ReFUnd?!?", but "Hello, how can I help you?". And instead of telling me I can leave because I'll get a text about my refund (with no mention of the amount), how about "Your refund is $x, would you like a printed receipt?" Instead of "what?!?" when I ask how much the refund is, try, "excuse me?". And you're not fooling anyone with that "have a lovely day ma'am", dripping with sarcasm. Hello this is a review of the pickup process at the Burke store. On my way there I alerted through the app that I was on my way there. Once I got to the pickup lot and entered my spot number they came out within 1 minute. Man, does the place do customer service right! On September 1, I rushed to this Walmart with my infant for a smoke alarm and bought a 9v battery. I left it inside and didn't remember until in the car. I didn't want to go back inside, through the rain, with my infant because it was dumping rain from Hurricane Ida remnants. So I called the customer service line and asked if they would check the register checkout #2 for the battery. Sure enough, in 5 minutes, a Walmart employee (with a cane) no less brought the battery to the outside entrance where I had parked. I wish I had caught his name. They never answer the phones so you'll never be able to ask questions without going to the physical store location. The store manager Mohammed is completely unprofessional and rude. This store needs new management due several issues. *Shelf price does not match what I pay at the register *On some things they have product but not on faster selling items. *Do not go into store to purchases beer or (alcohol- products)on the weekend as this store will most likely be out of stock on what your looking to purchase. *I did finally talk with one of the associates asking if he could check in the back for something the store was out of stock in automotive department and he said they had some but I had to return tomorrow he was not able to get it from the back room. *Walmart is not the store it was 10 years ago. stores are very mismanaged. Terrible store. I ordered a Philips Blu-ray player on Dec 1 when my player broke online for pickup in store. They claimed it was in stock and would be ready in about an hour. At 1 hour I get notifIed it's out of stock and will take 5 days to arrive. I immediately cancel the order. They refuse to process the cancellation. They notify me it's arrived and ready for pickup. I chat online wIth them that I bought from another store. They say they cannot do anything that I must call the local store. Local store doesn't answer the phone EVER. I file a credit card dispute for the item I never picked up. Walmart fights the dIspute. I will never buy another item from Walmart. It's not worth this frustration read more

Normally I dread going to Walmart, Kingstowne was as I thought my closest choice and maybe it still is as far as miles go, but there's something you'll see reoccurring in my reviews and that's friendly employees that greet me and come across as neighbors not strangers looking for my money. Obviously it's a retail giant and they sell a gross amount of items! But I've never walked into a friendlier and cleaner store. I've never had to wait on a line that made me rethink my choice of shopping. My only gripe would be the policy so many grocery and large retailers are choosing to replace their cashiers with automated self checkouts and I feel I should get a discount if I have to ring up my own groceries since they're saving money by not hiring cashiers. read more

I have asthma I had to buy an inhaler on 1/10 . It took a while and the Walmart pharmacy was busy but it was right by the doctor and I needed the inhaler now so I got it. The people were friendly and helpful. 200 puff inhaler in hand I went home. 1/15 with 170 puffs left it stopped working so I went back for help . I was told that they were not responsible for the inhaler once it was opened. How could I know it wouldn't work after such a short time unless it was opened. So I said I would pay just get me another and handed them my insurance card. They said I needed to pay $89.00 cash ,$50.00 more than before and that insurance wouldn't pay for a second. They said they could call my insurance to see what they could do but it was getting late and they were closing in 45 minutes. I might have to come back tomorrow. I just thought that was pretty special and people might want to know. read more

I called burke and he answered the phone very politely. He looked for the bicycle my son wanted for his birthday present and he was able to put a hold on the item. A semi cleaner and more organized Walmart then the one in Springfield. Definitely a step above, and the best thing is the employees, MUCH friendlier and helpful then the one in Springfield. Middle aged white male claimed to be robbed after leaving his wallet in a hand basket containing $1,000 plus credit cards at the Burke Walmart today. When confronted by employees who spoke with heavy accents, he yelled "I hate this country" but then left without calling police. I'm an average white guy and if I'm robbed of $1,000 I'm calling the police. this dude just walked out. I was waiting for him to come back in with a weapon. This whole thing seemed like a setup. these are dangerous times, keep your eyes and ears open for these people who may act out on their prejudices!!! read more

Everyone is courteous and helpful except the Asian man who was helping with check out tonight . He won't give his name and took off his badge . I went to ask him if he could call someone to help me make some keys . He literally shooed me away with his hand stating there is a machine outside where I can make keys or I can go to customer service . I asked him to just call overhead for someone to come to the key department as the line in the customer service was long : He refused !! No he said we don't make keys . Good Walmart. This Walmart is physically on the smaller side. It was organized and easy to navigate, but the lines are long...ridiculously long, so keep that in mind before venturing in for a quick trip. I have nothing bad to say about this location other than it is among the smallest in the area. You know what they say about size! It isn't so much about the size. It is what you do with it! This location has maximized every single inch of the store. It has a big food department that is great for buying dry good staples. There is no fresh meat and very little produce available. The milk is usually a dollar less than the grocery store! Cereal is about half of the grocery store! The housewares department is awesome. It is pretty rare to not find what you are looking for. You might not have as many choices of brands but they have a bit of everything. The other day I wanted to pick up a towel set. They had around ten colors to choose from. I thought if I went to a superstore there would be a better selection so I went to the store in Fairfax. To my surprise, their housewares section was smaller than Burke! They only had three color choices of the same product! The store is kept pretty clean and well stocked. The carts are wiped off and the greeter always has a few pulled out and ready to go! No having to struggle trying to tug a stuck cart out of the corral! The checkout people are quick and friendly and they keep enough lines open so there is never a really long wait like in other locations. Fun tip: Park on the side of the building by the garden shop and go in the side door. There is a checkout right by that door that never has a line! read more

I generally like Walmart as a store but this has to be the worst Walmart I have ever been to. In the three times I have been here I have had issues. There are always solicitors at the entrances hitting you up for one donation or another, if you have AT&T you lose your signal in the store, and some of their cashiers seem like they have never done the job before. Third time the Burke VA Walmart has failed to deliver my order via "store delivery" which doesn't include the $7.95-$9.95 delivery fee and $7+ driver tip. I will NEVER order from this store again! In fact, I haven't been in this store in over a year due to the fact that so many times I can't find items where they should be located and when you ask an employee where the item is now located, they have no idea. I go to this one vs fairfax one. Even though its further. Its cleaner with more selections. Its your regular old walmar but just is better. Its not 24.7 which sucks but the size of it makes up for it. Parking is amplr but a tad difficult. Bathrooms are the cleanest you can find at the mart. People are helpful as well read more

Smaller than your average Walmart since it's not a supercenter, but they have a small produce section and freezer section, at least. We usually come here to get miscellaneous things which are mostly cleaning supplies, health & beauty products, Auto parts 'n things and sometimes baby stuff. However, they typically don't have a few things we're looking for so we go to a Walmart supercenter (by the in-laws) because they are more fully stocked. When it comes to services in the photo department, for example, there is usually no one there. You'd have to scout around for the blue vests if you need to be attended to. Kind of a hassle if you're in a hurry. And speaking of service, they are terrible when it comes to checking out. In our recent visit to this Walmart, 3 out of 6 (basically half) self-checkout machines were functioning and we stood in line for maybe 5+ minutes that the line was increasing behind us. Mind you, none of the regular checkout counters were open. I saw maybe 4 Walmart employees standing around the customer service counter and doing nothing (maybe 1 finally came around to fix one of the self-checkout machines). It was really annoying and we had a fussy baby and tantrum-y toddler in tow--we just wanted to pay for our things and be out. Unfortunately, this is the only closest Walmart to us. Maybe it'll be worth it to go a little further for a tad bit better service...maybe. read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars and people would STOP shopping at all Walmarts!! They're customer service is THE WORSE!! When I called to gain clarification from the manager after reading online policy after I left the store (when I tried to exchange she told me I had to do it at the store I bought it at only, so I just left) she refused to get a manager or give me her name. They refused to let me speak to a manager or for one for me when I was having an issue. Stated Walmart policy is they DO NOT exchange ONLY return when it clearly states they DO EXCHANGE items, especially defective items purchased in store you EXCHANGE FOR SAME EXACT ITEM-per walmart policy which the customer service person informed me they DO NOT EXCHANGE AT ALL! I contacted corporate to report this and was also hung up on and then finally got to speak to a supervisor who informed me they should have even exchanged it for me and then put the ones I had in defective pile. I will go back tomorrow with my case number corporate gave me and speak to manager regarding the issue. read more

I shop here because it is the closest Walmart to my house... but lets face it, this place is pathetic. The customer service has been great though. That almost made me bump the review up to three stars but the store is just so sad. I come from a small town in New York and we had an awesome Walmart. My wife comes from a small town near Bristol and they have two great Walmarts. I think they seriously need to close down and renovate. The Walmart in Manassas is great but that is too far to drive on an average day. This place has the saddest food selection. Actually, the selection of everything is sad. It's like a mini-Walmart. A teaser if you will. Look, we have the sign, but we don't have the items you need! Last night my wife and I went in for some garden items and this lawn and garden center is pathetic! OMG. Again, terrible selection and all the soil is outside of the gate. You have to pay and then show your receipt and they will give it to you. How the hell do I know what you have if I am in the store? Now I have to leave my cart, go back outside to see what is there and hope that when I come back in, my stuff is still there. Last night we did this and by the time we checked out we still forgot to ask for the soil because it wasn't in the cart!!!! WTF? This is without a doubt, the worst Walmart I have been to. i really don't know who these people that work here think they are - ugh! i lost my keys while i was shopping and only realized it after i had already walked over to my car, with my bags in tow - i had to run back (i had shopped until closing) where i was met at the door by a gentleman who turned around just long enough to tell me he wasn't going to open the door and then turned around to ignore me! WTH!?!?! so i knocked on the door and yelled through the window that i needed to get in because i had lost my keys - finally they let me in to look for my keys a few days later i went here to return a set of earrings and necklace my husband bought me - when i went to the "customer service" desk the lady asked me where i bought them from and i told her the location in kingstown, and she had the audacity to ask me why i wasn't returning it there!!!
