Omg.. I had to give a shout out to the amazing people at the Walmart auto care center for their professionalism. I always make my appointments here either by phone or in person which makes things much faster. Today I came in expecting to pay $414.00 for two tires for my Subaru Forrester. After dropping off my vehicle, I was very surprised that they had it done about 45 minutes later.. the Auto Center looked busy, but they are well organized. When it came time to pay my bill .. I was absolutely shocked when the clerk gave me the total of $99.06??? I immediately assumed that they had made a mistake and either not charged me for both tires or had only put on one.. but even that didn't make sense as the tires are almost $200 apiece. When I questioned the amount , I was shown that the service man had dug a little deeper and found out that the tires that were being replaced , were still under warranty and had premature wear, especially on one side. I am still in shock as I left with two brand new Goodyear tires and only paid $99.06.. due to the warranty on these Goodyear tires!! I just wanna say I've been on Maui since 1980... and I am not used to getting any deals here.. and when they do happen, they're only for a couple dollars.. Walmart saved me over $300 on my tire purchase just by doing their due diligence.. and putting quality and customer satisfaction above profit. This is very rare here on Maui and I would just like to thank these people again for giving me such great service.!! It keeps getting harder to find a place to get an oil & filter change for your car that costs less than 60 dollars. Fortunately, Walmart Auto Care Center in Kahului will take care of you, but it's not easy. You need to make an appointment. I went to their website... https://www.walmart.com/store/3290-kahului-hi/auto-care-center and selected the cheapest thing on the menu, Pit Crew conventional oil, for $26.88. My Maui Cruiser doesn't need synthetic oil and I didn't need the "courtesy services" that costs an extra $10 because I can check my lights, tires and fluids, etc. myself. By the way, the price they will charge you is $28.88. Evidently, they can't keep the advertised price up to date. Anyway, I tried to make an appointment. The website showed me the upcoming 7 days with no time available. Then, it showed me the next 7 days with no time available. And that's as far as it goes. So, I stayed up until midnight, when a new day appeared at the end of 2 weeks and got a 4:30 appointment. Fortunately, they send you reminders so you don't forget. I showed up ahead of time, for my reservation and was asked if I wanted the "standard oil" and I said "pit crew". Either he couldn't hear me or didn't believe that I was passing on the "courtesy service", because they went ahead and did it. He said it would take about an hour. It took over an hour and a half, partly because the tech was working on another car at the same time. But the main problem he had was finding the oil filter. GM designers played a dirty trick on us by placing the filter where it's unbelievably hard to get to. But, he figured it out. Kudos to Colleen, the Auto Care Manager, for giving us progress reports and for backing out the additional "courtesy service" charge. Anyway, they have a comfortable waiting room with a water station for refilling your water bottle. And you'll have plenty of time to do your shopping. Just don't buy any ice cream or other frozen food. read more

Love to make an Appt- and be early only to take 40 mins to drop off car and accepted keys, not too busy, was another 40 mins before they touched my car. Upon completion the tech ignored me walking all the way into shop office with keys and I was left waiting for permission to walk into store as they had "acceptable door" locked, ignoring me. When I walked into get office work done another tech immediately started harassing me calling names both ways in and out of office, until I was across lot inside my vehicle. Avoid allt all costs of you value your time and don't feel like getting harassed out the door when they're taking all day even after it's done. Also none of the tire pressures matched, pretty terrible honestly. Go to East Bay. Said I picked up 2 hrs after my appt and it wasn't out the shop for another half hour. Get with it buddy read more

The place I usually go to for tires, did not have the car tire size in stock. They advised for me to purchase online, and it would take around 3 weeks for it to arrive. My 2nd option was not answering the phone when I tried to inquire, and I didn't want to drive all the way over there and waste my time if it wasn't in stock. Fast forward to Walmart Auto Center on a whim while shopping and was pleasantly surprised. Stopped by on a Tuesday and was told to callback on Thursday, because another shipment of tires were coming in. Called Thursday afternoon, they had 4 tires of the size I needed, booked a tire replacement appointment for me. On the day of appointment, check in at my car was a breeze and I received text notifications and was called when it was ready. A couple days after tire replacement/installation, the 'check tire pressure' light came on. I drove over to have them take a look, and there was damage with my front passenger tire (that was pre-existing) that needed to be repaired. Since everything was under warranty, I came back a couple days later as a walk in at 7am and they were able to take care of the issue. Tire prices were reasonable, service was excellent, staff was friendly and professional. Comfortable, air conditioned and clean waiting room if you don't feel like shopping. My truck was originally scheduled for Sunday but i was fortunate enough to get there early this Friday morning just in case there were any cancellations or late customers. I got a good deal on tires and was taken care of and got all of my concerns addressed. Everyone was so nice. My favorite wahine that works there is Rory who has helped me in the past and who ive spoken over the phone. Today the wahine who was working in the morning was checking everyone in and was so nice. I honestly thought i was going to wait until afternoon for my tires to be changed so i took my sweet time shopping and was even planning on walking to Target etc. Right when i was about finished shopping they called me and told me my truck was ready. I got updates through texts until my car was ready to be picked up. Staff did not try to upsell anything, they just advised of what I would need to take care of in the future. We came in for an oil change today. First they didn't have the oil that was cheaper so we had to go ahead an pay the higher priced oil $. I asked the guy how long before it's done, he said 30 minutes. It's been an hour already and I think it's ready. Now to go inside to pay. Suggestion: don't tell your customer it will be ready in 30 minutes unless it really will be. It would have been much better if he said an hour or more so I'm not waiting unnecessarily. read more

DONT RECOMMEND COMING HERE First of all, I did my oil change here a year ago which the outcome was fine. This year I've decided for my boyfriend to do my oil change (an experienced mechanic). While my boyfriend was working on the car. He had found out that he had no access in taking out the oil plug because there was a tamper seal and it seemed like they have used a torque gun. After, we had no access to OUR OWN CAR. We decided to go back to the "professionals" to do it for us. When we arrived to the shop, it took us at lease 20 mins to be noticed and to be helped. We asked one of the guys how long it would take for an oil change. He replied "Well, right now it looks like a 5 hour wait for an oil change. We have a-lot of cars we have to work on." While there was only two cars in the shop... So we decided to maybe come back the next day since we had work. The following day, today. We went to get our oil change. It seemed perfectly okay after it was done. However, after coming work. On the highway my tire had popped. I looked at my receipt from today. I've noticed that they had put air in my tires. WHICH I never asked them to. They have put over the actual amount of air into my tire which is 30 PCI. They have put 35 PCI into my tire. read more

I came here for an oil change and was very happy with my experience! Booked it online, and they saw me right on time. Friendly workers, great price ($58 with tax for full synthetic) and they were done in less than an hour. I got text messages all throughout the service to keep me updated on the process. After my frustrating experience with Goodyear (who quoted me over $100 for the same oil change, which they said would take 4 hours even with an appointment), I appreciated how professional these guys were. I've tried change my oil in this center many times around 2-3pm and they always couldn't do it. They supposed to work until 6pm. So if you planning change you oil there go early in the morning like they told me 6:30 am. Also my cap transmission fluid has been missed after l got serviced there. Better systems and management of procedures needs to be implemented for this auto care center. The 2 Star rating is for these reasons. The expectation is that customers are meant to police themselves as far as the line and order of the cars go (which is absolutely ridiculous). No signs are in place to let you as a customer know how the lines and order works for the cars. It's a free for all. Lines are always long and tedious. However, the prices and convenience factor are beneficial. They open promptly which is a plus. The main issues have nothing to do with the employees, it's the system that Walmart as a company needs to take care of to make the service better for their customers. It takes about 10-15minutes to get all of your information if you've never used them before and that takes time away from the cars being serviced and how the lines operate get confusing for customers. It shouldn't be like that at all. Main take away is that you need to be willing to wait to get any kind of service here. But the employee Marcel was efficient getting us in and out. You leave your phone number with them and they give you a call when they're done. The oil change takes about an hour. So it's best to do your shopping while you wait. read more

The Good first: prices here are generally $30-40 less than other places I go like Maui Oil and Midas. That's a lot cheaper. The Bad. The staff is disorganized and nobody knows when you can get in, if your car is ready, etc. I mean it's Walmart after all and the workers there are probably so over it. Honestly you couldn't find a more chaotic place to take your car and wait. My wait was 90 minutes just to get in the bay. And they were not busy at all. Conclusion: if you're low on cash and can handle it you're ok at Walmart. If you value your time and sanity go elsewhere. read more

One star for a nice employee. No more stars because they couldn't do the job without a four hour wait, two days in a row including Easter,when they suggested it might be slower. Prices are good but not worth standing around for four hours hoping it may get done by then. Also terrible systems. No where to check in. No employee waiting talk to you. Must chase them down. Went inside tire center office and they told me to go outside and stand around hoping somebody might show up. No line so people debating who is next. Absolutely no organization. We tried 4 different days to have them change our oil and all 4 days we were told the wait would be 4 hours!!! We should have took this as a sign and ran. But, we were stupid and tried one more time. We arrived on our 5th try and were told we would be next...wow! He told us it would be 30 to 40 minutes...okay, way better than 4 hours. Well, 1.5 hours later we were still waiting and the person at the desk had no idea when the car would be done. He wasn't rude, but didn't speak english that well and I couldn't really understand him. RUDE - the worst service I've EVER experienced. I was standing around waiting for service and the technician would not help me nor look at me, and when I asked him what I should do with the paper I received from the counter, he told me, with a major attitude "you need to wait because I have customers" and stormed off to help a women who arrived AFTER I did. Three cars cut me in line, and he took them. I will not return there to get tires done no matter how cheap the tires are. I've never been so disrespected like that before. I am furious! Horrible and rude customer service! No communication amongst employees and customers. Customers are expected to know where to wait in line when there is no guidance and order. People are cutting in front of one another.
