"Good Times"- Nile Rodgers and CHIC. Saw Nile Rodgers and CHIC with Billy Idol at the Walmart AMP on 9/29/24. While we did have a good time, it could have been better. Walmart's website could have been improved with the following: - CREDIT CARD or electronic payments ONLY on-site. We normally take cash to musical venues because they don't take credit card; it's the opposite here! We were so bummed because we couldn't buy any T-shirt or swag and we flew all the way from Hawaii to see these wonderful artists, and left without any merch. There's no in-and-out privileges. This is not stated on the website. We couldn't buy any food or drink, either. - DOGGONE POLE: Yes, some of the end seats have an obstructed view due to the poles being there, this is not stated on the website. We lucked out because our back row was mostly empty, so we moved over a few seats to avoid the obstructed view. They need to state this on the website. - BAG POLICY: Walmart AMP's website just specifies that you're only allowed a clear large sized ziplock bag (measurements listed for the Ziplock) and a "small" clutch. They need to specify the measurements on what they mean by a small clutch. I played it safe and took a really small 4 x 6 zippered bag that barely held my backup battery and cord, and when I got there, the allowance was a little larger than that. You have to place your "small clutch" on a measurement pad they have, if it's too big, you have to back to your car and get back in line. Please, Walmart, if you're going to list the damn plastic bag size, list the "small clutch" size as well!!! Good things: - lots of restrooms, and clean - free and paid parking (we just walked from Embassy Suites). - sound system was spot on, when it was cranked a little too loud at times, I just stuck my fingers into my ears. I normally bring music earplugs but it was OK except for a few songs, which were really cranked up. - good stage videos, masterfully cut in and out during solos and duets, with clear sharp pictures, so even if you're on the lawn, you can see the performance with clarity. - you can pick up your printed tickets at will-call if you can't figure out the rotating electronic tickets that shape-shift every 60 seconds. Plus, if you pick it up, you have a hard copy you can keep in your scrapbook or mementos as a keepsake, just like it was in the 80's and 90's. I still have my old Police concert tickets from the late 80's. Return factor: It's practically improbable that I will return to AR to see another concert, and I already saw my bucket-list artist, Nile Rodgers. If he's playing again somewhere else, may see him closer to home.

This was such a cute venue with lots of bathrooms close by! The seating was evenly spaced, I didn't feel like we were sitting on top of each other. There is also grass seating in the back! I would come back for another concert. Not to forget the drinks were good and cheaper than some of the other venues I've been to before.

This was 30 minutes before the concert started. This place was packed with standing room only.

So just having shoulder surgery, and not feeling safe. My husband went up to a guy that was employed by the AMP. Asked him if there were any safe place we could stand with me just having surgery. Well Jeffrey pulled out the stops and got us tickets to sit in the blue zone for handicap. And was nice enough to give us lounge tickets when he found out that we have 11 concerts at the amp. All I can say is amazing. We just wanted a safe place to watch breaking Benjamin and stain. And we got that plus more. All because we asked and didn't yell at him. way to go AMP, this is why we keep coming back.

Alex Warren put in an amazing show!

We drove in from Texas to see a show here, the show itself was amazing! Drinks are stupid expensive as expected one shaker was $40 While I understand these venues will do anything for a cash grab... We did not like how many fast passes were sold for $10 a ticket after we were all already in line. My family was there for 3 hours before the doors opened and workers were literally walking the line and sold fast passes all the way up until the gates opened so several thousands of people got in before we did even though they had just walked up and we had been there for so long and we were near the beginning of the general admission line. There should have been a cutoff to how many they could sell leading up to the start of the show. That was the biggest problem we had there. Parking wasn't too bad as we got there very early!

Lana Del Rey was amazing. Great sound quality here, better than expected.

Had a great experience here seeing Lana Del Rey. One of the best concerts of my life. Clean venue, respectful crowd, friendly staff and really great sound. Almost any seat has a great view here. I highly recommend getting the AMP Underground add-on if you're seeing an A-list performer. The general admission line for Lana was well over a thousand people deep when I showed up an hour before early access, but I only had 10 people in front of me getting into AMP. Having a lounge area to chill before and after the show was great. The two included drinks nearly covered the cost... Like most concerts, getting out was a mess. I parked nearby and walked 10 minutes, but driving and parking on site would have been much more difficult. Just be careful, many nearby lots have no parking signs and will tow. Little known fact, but you can bring an empty water bottle in... if you're waiting in line for a show and it's hot out, do yourself a favor and bring some water. A few people got sick waiting in the lines for Lana without water. Keep the bottle and fill it up in the amphitheater, if you wish. The only other thing I'd like to see improved was buying tickets. I know Lana crashed the site because of nearly 60,000 fans jumping on, but choosing tickets was confusing. It wasn't super clear or user friendly when picking a seat. Prices for the same section varied wildly and I just took whatever I could get because time was ticking and most fans weren't even lucky enough to get a shot, so I can't complain too much.

We have been to The AMP a few times now and really enjoyed it. It is a nice, big, well maintained venue for concerts. Lots of parking (paid and free) and tons of concerts are always scheduled! They have a clear bag policy, which is OK, but they also do not let you bring water in at all (only a clear empty water bottle). You can fill it at the water fountain or buy $5 bottles of water. You also can't bring chairs in but can rent ones for $10. No cash is accepted, so be sure to bring a card for drinks, snacks, rentals, etc. The best food deal here is the big pieces of watermelon for $3.50. We always buy lawn seats which are cheaper and there is plenty of space. Bring a blanket to sit on and relax. The bathrooms and bar at the top are less crowded and cleaner than the ones by the front gate. The Amp is owned by The Walton Foundation, so the prices aren't bad, which is nice, but they def hit you with a lot of fees- $34 lawn seats x2 plus $25 in fees! Another tip- at every concert they offer $20 tickets for a few upcoming concerts. You have to buy that night only. Great deal!

Probably one of the worst venues I've ever been to. I liked the theme that you can sit on the grass for tickets to be cheaper, but there's many more things I didn't like than did like. LIKES: 1. Had a grassy area to sit on for cheaper tickets. 2. Had beer, mixed drinks, food snacks. 3. Had free parking! 4. I got my ticket literally a few hours before driving here because grass space is less limited. DISLIKES: 1. It's outside, but you can't bring food or drink because Walmart has to make every penny possible. 2. Took me three times to go through the entrance because the scanners wouldn't scan the barcode on my ticket on my iPod. 3. No wifi, so you're sol if you don't have data. 4. The drinks were more expensive than anywhere I've been for anything.... $18 for a 20oz margarit? Seriously? It barely had alcohol in it. 5. Security literally kicks you out and forces you to stand in line to leave. It's pretty rude. Especially for people who don't like waiting in line or waiting to get out of the parking lot. 6. Food was expensive as well.

Not a bad spot in the house

I spent $50 on two 12 ounce margaritas. It would be nice if prices are reasonable or even posted where you are selling things.

We came early for the Live & Collective Soul concert and tailgated in the parking lot. We started to walk to the venue at 555p for a 6p start. We weren't too worried since we had reserved floor seats. After you go through security, they check your bags. You need a small clutch or a clear bag and your refillable water bottle needs to be squeezable so leave your metal ones at home. When you stand at the top, you can see the Ozarks behind the stage and it's picture perfect. We walked down to our seats and after the opening band, we were offered pit wristbands so we gladly made our way to the pit. There was a drunk man who was bumping everyone and trying to get handsy on all the women, including some minors. He had tried to grab the lady behind us but her husband stopped him. He then moved behind me so the hubs became my buffer but the guy kept grabbing my hubs. The hubs yelled at him to go away and since the hubs yelled loud enough over the band, security heard him and escorted the man away since he was such a problem to everyone. Leaving was so easy and simple. It appears they can handle smaller crowds simply, but I heard about the Post Malone & Jelly Roll concert and am so glad we didn't experience that.

The tram crew made the ride fun and you get an immediate taste of true Ozark hospitality. After getting off the tram, I'm not gonna lie, it's a little confusing in where to go. There is a vendor space with food trucks, retail vendors and some non profits, oh and a sick DJ. Very party atmosphere. We pre-bought a knock of tee short in the parking lot, and then an official shirt at the tee shirt booth. We found the path into the theater, use the QR code to get free wifi, as service is a little sketch. Have your electronic tickets ready! Once in, the space is amazing and well designed. The bathroom is the nicest I have ever seen at a large venue. There is a really pretty painting on the ceiling. The grass seating is large and nice, probably the best view. We sat down on the floor, there is no slope so hopefully you aren't behind the Jolly green Giant or a guy with a 10 gallon hat. We watched the giant screens a lot. The seating is sloped and you can rent chairs to sit in. This will be my choice if we come to a show here again. Come prepared or prepared to spend some money. $12 for two waters. Ouch! You can bring a bottle in with you. Next, I had ear plugs, but needed a set for my son. There were no free ones at guest services or first aid. Most venues have them. Soooo, $40 I bought some new fancy noise canceling ear plugs. Double ouch. The kicker is I got all the way back down to my seats and the box was empty. I went all the way back up the hill, the booth was closed, Creed was no playing, and I was getting more mad. I found someone to help me and they got me a sealed package. The concert was incredible! Leaving, not so good. We walked maybe a mile back to our car, the trams filled up fast and we didn't want to wait. Oh, but waiting we did. In the parking lot for 1.5 hours. Note to oneself, leave before the encore or tailgate in the parking lot. Three stars for the parking lot and cost of things. Five stars for the physical venue and Midwest Friendly staff. I'm sure we'll be back with a better game plan.
