Anything less than a 4.5-5 star = needs an adjustment in attitude. This place is off the charts good across the board. All mixed drinks were made with care, espresso Martini one of the tops I've had anywhere. The wine list is out of this world. A screaming eagle red by the glass....! I don't normally like eating around Beverly hills especially bc this area is touristy. But this place is an exception. The wine list is infinite, the setting is grand but intimate at the same time. We went to Wally's in Beverly Hills tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. We ordered fish, steak, and vegetables. When the steak arrived, there was a long white hair in it. The fish was undercooked, and the vegetables were so salty they were almost inedible. To make matters worse, the food took about 45 minutes to arrive. When I brought these issues to the waitress and asked to speak with a manager, the response felt dismissive. By the time the food was taken back and returned, we had already lost our appetite. Despite explaining that there was hair in the steak and that the fish was undercooked, nothing was removed from the bill. The interaction with the manager was particularly disappointing -- it felt as though he was implying the issue with the hair was somehow our fault, which was frankly insulting. We've been regular customers and expected the situation to be handled much more professionally. What was supposed to be a special birthday celebration turned into a very unpleasant experience. Between the food quality, the service, and how the complaint was handled, we left feeling extremely disappointed. read more

I went this evening and I was just taken back. The service was very poor and there was hardly anyone even in the restaurant. We ordered a caviar pizza, endive salad and steak tartare with a bottle of sparkling as we finished a first. Our pizza comes out before everything else and still had't gotten our water (there was literally one other table outside). We finish as much of the pizza as liked and were still wondering where our other dishes were. I finally asked and we then got them. When you're paying top dollar, you expect at least basic level service. No plans of returning. read more

Wow at how terrible the hospitality is at this place. I actually was floored. I witnessed a server tell another patron "you can't just walk in and sit wherever you want to talk to the hostess." Okay, not wrong - but the tone is absolutely disgusting. When I was clearly shocked by how he spoke to this patron, he approached and asked what's going on. I told him that he could have dealt with the situation, to which he responded "you can speak to the hostess if you have a problem". ????? So, then, I did. And when I approached the hostess, she said "I don't even know what to say" and then walked away from the station and continued to avoid it. Just treat people with respect. If a patron didn't follow proper procedure, just advise the that the hostess will seat them. If a server has disrespected a patron, just apologize and move on. It's really quite basic - especially for a place that claims to hold itself to "some" caliber. read more

Many wines are available in our store ~ Perrier Jouet I tasted its regular version and Rose Rose, which were also quite delicious. It has the same acidity, but the green one is the best~ The green one has a longer taste. Caymus edition is said to be aged 36 months longer than the regular version~ Today I finally tasted its taste. Rich chocolate fragrance. Edition is not as sweet as the regular one. It has a very high-end taste and you can drink it all the time without getting tired of it. Fortunate Son I tasted the blue version and the purple version before, and I tasted the black one today! It's really delicious, with a long taste and rich variations. I only give one person a little bit hahahaha Prosecco I was surprised to find a particularly delicious champagne today. I showed off two glasses! Pink bottle. It turned out to be a Vera Wang brand. It tastes like toast. It's fragrant and delicious, and the price is only about 20. The best value for money! I also tried Groth Cabo Pormmery. The ambience of the place is nice with dim lighting but it's always super packed so you usually have to stand around the bar if you're not planning on dining in. Last night was one of the best dinners I've had in a while. I drove out to Beverly Hills and found myself at @wallysofficial. This restaurant specialized in truffles, my favorite! I started with the truffle pizza topped with a porcini mushroom spread, cheese, and fresh shaved truffles. The crust was light and thin, making this pizza out of this world. My next appetizer was the grilled octopus with fingerling potatoes. The presentation alone on this made the dish noteworthy. Aside from being beautiful to look at, this was one of the best grilled octopus I've ever had, and I've tried the dish at many restaurants. For my main course, I had the king salmon and gnocchi. I normally wouldn't order salmon when dining in LA. However, with the pizza as a starter, I decided to go light with my main course, and I'm so glad I did. The dish was colorful, vibrant, and delicious. The fish was cooked to a glistening medium rare and melted in your mouth. I've never had salmon like this. To accompany my fish, I had more truffles! The truffles fries were topped with more shaved truffles, and when paired with a lemon garlic aioli upon request, they were exceptional. Great spot for wine and people watching outside. First time I came was over the weekend so it was pretty packed but this time came on a Monday and it wasn't as busy. I would go back if I'm in the area. Bit pricey but hey when you're in Bev Hills expect it to be pricey. I spent $2,300 here and deeply regretted it. The service was absolutely abysmal. Every time I come, I think, "Surely they can't be this bad consistently." I am always wrong. The staff is outright rude, which is wild given the price point, and only became marginally nicer once they realized we were ordering a lot. Even then, good luck finding a server when you actually need one. Orders took forever to be taken, drinks took forever to arrive, and basic attention was nonexistent. Yes, the food was good. But it was nowhere near good enough to justify service this poor. At this level, service matters, especially when you are hosting business dinners or important meetings. I will never bring another client, meeting, or dinner here again. This place is officially on my never-again list. I've probably spent 15-18k here on an annual basis, which I know isn't a lot in the grand scheme of their business, but hey, it's something. read more

Few drawbacks last night: 1. There was a literal line at the door for the bar, which I've never encountered before. Waited about 15 minutes. 2. Although I didn't encounter any rudeness from the staff, I did notice one guy working the bar (white nail polish guy) be extremely rude to a few guests for no reason. Wine bar and restaurant in the heart of Beverly Hills. Always crowded on the patio. One of the must-see places to visit when in LA. The hostess was not very welcoming when we walked in which was very surprising for a Beverly Hills establishment. This is not the norm for this part of town. Most hosts are very hospitable at the other restaurants in the area. We decided to stay anyways since Wally's has a good reputation and we wanted to try it despite not having a good first impression. We sat outside on the patio as it was a beautiful day. The patio is great for people watching but also has some bushes around it so there's some privacy. There were heat lamps outside but no sun umbrellas at the time we dined. We waited a while for service but when our waiter came to the table I was glad we stayed. He was an excellent waiter; very friendly and helpful. There are a few vegetarian options on the menu and he pointed them out to us. I went with the Moroccan Cauliflower. It had pan roasted mixed cauliflower in a delightful array of white, green, and purple colors, french vaduvan curry, preserved lemon puree, almonds, and sultanas (a type of raisin). Now, from the ingredient list you might think that the Moroccan Cauliflower was vegan. It is not. The waiter did point out that it was made with butter. However, they are very happy to prepare a vegan version of the dish. The presentation of this dish is quite fancy. I loved the beautiful array of colors on the plate. The portion was a perfect dinner for one person. I loved the flavors of the curry too. Only small tweak I would make was that I would like my cauliflower cooked a tad bit more and I would like more of that glorious sauce. Overall, this is a good dish to order if you are vegetarian. I noticed a lot of people come here to sit on the patio and have long meals over drinks. The parties that were seated when we came in were still enjoying their drinks when we left. We did not order any alcohol. The food took a while to come. However, our attentive waiter did come by our table and apologized for the delay. Our water was refilled promptly as well. Lots of parking on the street or in one of the public parking lots. Open late night. read more

The restaurant is what not deserve more than three stars. The first time I ate there i ordered the salad with the Manchego cheese. I could not find the cheese in the salad it was actually sprinkled on top like a Mac and cheese. Manchego cheese is not a cheese you sprinkled, you shave it at least. Tacky ! The salad was mediocre looking, but eatable. When the waiter brought me the bill for the salad he charged me $36 instead of $26. I had to rectify him. So watch your bill ! That last time I ordered the eggs dish it was good with flat potatoes and flat chicken sausages but what is not acceptable for a restaurant like Wally's is that they bring you each time two pieces of dried baguette slightly burned and NO butter or olive oil just two dry pieces of bread. It was like that both time. I cannot eat bread dry and hard as a rock without spreading something on it. In a Greek restaurant, Italian or French even in a coffee shop you would get something with the bread. I asked for butter which they brought in and was charged me $5 for it. Tacky ! I guess it is down to that. The blah waitress also did not have a clue about the menu. She did not know what was in the omelette or came with the eggs. Also I had to chase after her to get the bill. Study the menu girl if you are going to work there ! It is not that hard. You would get better tips. read more

We came for Dine LA - it's available every day but there seemed to initially be some confusion when we arrived over the weekend to participate. Alas, it was cleared up. Service was decent, wait staff was quick to pick up empty plates and quick to refill water glasses before they were empty. They checked in to confirm when we were ready for the next course. I've read mixed reviews on the vibes. We came around lunch time and it was a mix of couples and girlfriends. It's a good spot for just drinks given the wide range of wines available including some rare finds or for a chill brunch. I appreciated that there's a punch parking lot right next door - first 2 hours are free. Exit on Canon. Food was good. I tried the pissaladiere (savory French flatbread with frisée, artichoke, black olives, grilled onions and sardines). The steak frites was just okay for me - lacking a tad in flavor and could have been elevated with a nice garlic butter. The fries were good - just the right crisp. The warm chocolate cookie with chocolate ice cream - akin to a pizookie - was rich but still not too sweet. Also tried the Jamaica mocktail - it was heavy on the ginger beer flavor. I would have liked it to lean more towards the hibiscus given its name. All in all, I think it's worth at least a visit. A nice spot to at least pick up a nice bottle of wine as a gift for any wine connoisseur. read more
