When I showed Jessy the reference pics I had, I didn't know if it would work for my hair, which is very thin and fine and had grown very long with lots of breakage, and really trusted her and her expertise. She made me feel so at ease and not judged at all for the state of my hair, which had gotten so unhealthy and wayyy overdue for a haircut, and made my reference pic come to life! My hair feels so bouncy, healthy, and full of movement and it's exactly how I wanted it and fit for my type of hair. I can't recommend Jessy enough and will definitely be back!

I had proof from my dr. that I was contagious, and texted this to them, and they were unwavering. I refuse to patronize a business that punishes its clients for getting ill. You'd rather I come in and infect everyone? I moved to a far better salon in A-ville, and am much happier.

Having been to three- no, 4 "stylists" over the past three years, and having to grow my hair out…read moreover and over again, I have been forming an opinion that the term "stylist" is no more accurate (or in fact, revealing) than "sanitation engineer" for garbageman, or "Chef" for "Short-order, no-talent hack." So I happened upon the 'Salon-in-transition' of Danielle Mars by chance, and she changed my opinion of "stylist" straightaway. She provided service that was nothing short of professional, precisely what I have wanted for three years, met all of my styling/haircut goals, and did it all while handling other events, which were stressful enough by themselves without having to service clients at the same time. Result? I look and feel like a(n aging) Rock Star! ; ) She is attentive to concerns, answered all my questions with a cheerful demeanor, and with a personality which is well-balanced, friendly, always courteous and even effervescent! I got the look I've been waiting for without any fuss. Did I mention extremely competitive pricing? I think what I paid was more than fair. My hair has a new bff! P.S. Danielle may self-describe as something like "organized chaos", but don't let that fool you: she really knows what she is doing, and does it exceptionally well. I only hope she continues to provide hair cut/styling services for many years to come. Her salon, while soon to be closed, is lovely, artistically designed, and I suspect that she will certainly brighten up the next spot she lands upon. All the best, Danielle, sincerely. She has a full service beauty salon that offers, makeup (both airbrush and traditional), hairstyling, up dos, cuts, and colors. The woman can do it all! I didn't have to do a hair and makeup trial with her either. All I did was explain the look I had in mind. I even brought a pic to show what I wanted done. Thankfully, she was able to replicate not only the exact look, but she blended the foundation and makeup shades to evenly match my skin tone! She not only has a stellar personality but she's also very efficient in getting you out the door looking great; all the while making it look effortless. She's great at her profession and takes pride in the work she does. I was so satisfied with the results! I later received a ton of complements from family and friends. As soon as I walked in the door to make the appointment, I knew it was a special place. Comfortable, well-designed, busy without being frantic. The manager was welcoming, personable and listened to my request, asked good questions, gave even better answers. Sam, who I picked from the website bio's, was on board with pruning my outgrown, thick hair. She improved on the basic cut and made my hair swing. Sam knows HT cut hair, understands proportion and face structure, and applies her knowledge of making art to create a great look for me. The checkout/reschedule was hassle-free and unhurried. It looks like everyone in the shop takes turns at the front desk as needed. A detail like that tells a lot about how a business is run and how employees are treated. In this case, respected and valued. I like that the surcharge to services covers insurance for employees. Proof that this small business knows how to keep good people. Again, excellent overall experience and kudos to Sam, the owners and the rest of the staff.

Update 05.19.26 Five…read moremonths later, and I am still paying interest on the emotional debt of this haircut. Eileen Coria's "weed-whacker assault" has mutated into an unmanageable nightmare that is still too short to professionally tie back. The crooked neckline has grown out into a bizarre hair tail that refuses to blend, making my current daily look best described as a cartoon character. I am updating this review because a truly bad haircut takes months--if not a full year--to grow out, and the consequences don't just disappear when the salon issues a refund. *********************************************************** Avoid Eileen Coria. My December 27, 2025, appointment was a disaster. After the salon failed to notify me prior that my regular stylist was away, co-owner Anna recommended Eileen. I asked for a short bob with long layers. Instead, I got severe asymmetry, one-inch layers that flip out wildly, and a completely crooked neckline. The salon refunded my money, but a refund doesn't fix the emotional toll or the months it will take to grow this out. This cut is structurally ruined and will require expensive corrective appointments to fix. Deeply disappointed.

I even left a little note saying I was kind of nervous since I haven't had anyone take care of my hair in a while, but I had an inkling of an idea--long and low-maintenance. The studio is tucked away in Evanston, but easy to find. No issues with parking. The space is clean with cute decor. There's no receptionist and the stylists do their thing, but they were attentive and checked me and other patrons in promptly. They've got a little coffee machine if you need, too.
