Aronson's is a well established salon frequented by many locals in the Northside. Right when you step in you'll feel the homely middle eastern vibes. The staff are extremely friendly and sweet. The idiom "you get what you pay for" does not apply here. You definitely get much more than you pay for! The cheap prices and the experienced barbers/stylists cater to all audiences. If you have a preference for either a male or female stylist they got you covered. Whether you have short hair, long hair, black hair, Asian hair, white hair, etc. I typically get a haircut($5) and my beard trimmed/lined up($10) all for $15! If you're a guy seeking a trendy haircut definitely go to Sargon. Protip: Bring a picture of the type of haircut you want and let the staff take care of the rest! Of course make sure it's realistic with your hair texture and length. Know that that they can also straighten/blow dry it to help you get your desired look. read more

I came as of 2021 March . They don't take appointments and you can come in person . As soon as air entered the saloon I waited for someone to come in but no body came in even though they saw me coming in . Finally one of their main worker approached me and remain quite and ironically nodes her head in away what do you want ? It was so awkward because I had to greet her before I tell her what I need. She took me to a private room because I asked her so for religious purposes as I am unable to show my hair. Then the abuse came . She has long claws/nails when she washed me she was poking me to the point it felt as there is spicy pepper on my head. After that I saw the towel she used on me it looked like very old dirty cheap towel. Then she proceeded to blow dry my hair the first minute passed when her friend called her for help she threw the blow dryer on my hand while it was on and told to finish blow drying my hair until she comes back this has never happened to me ever before . It was so so so awkward. It was too late to leave . Then after she came back and we discussed hair color and landed on one . I gave clear instructions When she applies the clot not to make it touch my skin by three fingers away from my scalp. Did she say ok? No she was it is ok our life is full with chemical . I had to even explain why that was not correct etc etc etc . Did she listen to me when I told her three fingers away from my scalp ? No! Instead she started to chat on the phone and forgot and dumped the clot on my head AND ITCTOUCHED MY SCALP . It was BURNING and ITCHING . She left me for the color to take its time . Then I had enough and waited impatiently to when it is time to wash so I can feel relief . The hair color has so so Bad strong smell like Amonia . It was too strong she her self said sorry for the smell. I used hair color before but nothing near that . I suspect they are using Dollar Store hair color. Ask to see what type of color because they don't mix it informs of you . They come with it already ready in a bowel . The room was a place for some of the other of co worker to wash their used towels and gowns in the sink they use to wash hair . A place to leave their used bowels of hair color and they leave it there. After she washed my head. I said I had to go . Even thought he plan is to get a whole experience of (color, trim, blow dry, and straightening hair ) When I went to the cashier she gave me the bill and guess how much she asked ? $70 . I had to tell her I am not satisfied with the job and that is too much money for what I received. I didn't even finish my hair and left nearly wet. She didn't like and was accusing me for not having money when I showed her $200 bill she then didn't know how to justify it . I said I won't pay that and asked her to reduce . She said pay 55 and get out of here . Tips: Please don't go there . They were far away from professionalism despite the big place they have . If you decided to go As for an appointment and demand the worker do t leave . If you color please ask to see what type of product they are going to use on you . If I were to give this 0 star I would . But never again going there . read more

My regular eyebrow place is under construction for 1 month so this was where I was told I can find my regular eyebrow woman in the mean time. Street parking was easy but the place was less than comparable to my normal place. It was a really small, crowded and dated old barbershop populated by 100% men. My regular woman was not there, they didn't know who she was (the owner's daughter...), etc. Finally a woman stepped forward from the back and told me my person is on vacation and that she will do my eyebrows. She was quick and painless...I was almost convinced I could make the switch to this place and handle the 100% men who weren't speaking English....until I went to pay. She asked me "what do you normally pay at the other place?" I replied "7 dollars"...she said "ok since you are a regular customer there...$7 is fine." So I paid. It wasn't until I walked out of the barber shop that I noticed a decal on the window...."EYEBROW THREADING....$5" Dishonest. read more

I came here with my mom to get our eyebrows done. At first, we thought, "There are a few too many guys in here..." All of a sudden, the women came out and we became more comfortable. I had Susan; I don't remember my mom's tech but she said she was great also. We have been to several threaders, some dirty, some don't even talk to you, but not this place! I'm definitely going back. Big plus: They give you a light massage (on your newly bald skin, lol) and there was not a drop of redness! Bigger plus: It's only $5 for eyebrows. everyone can afford that, right? read more

Very bad experience getting hair cut at this place. Suzy messed up my hair.

Love it...so cheap and still they do great job on haircuts. So convenient and they always have enough stylish to work on you so we really don't have to wait too long. read more

Best place to cut your hair (the way you wanted) and to have beautiful groom eyebrows! The only thing I would not recommend is blond highlights, you hardly have any highlights showing because they all too skinny and I don't think it was worth paying a lot of money for it. read more

Ever since I began the whole post-pubescent, hair-removal ritual I've been searching for an oasis that'd make it just a little more tolerable - and then I found Aronsons. I've been coming for over 10 years now. And while I've been to Red Door, Mario T, the spa at the Palmer House, etc and am more than familiar with paying ridiculous amounts to get trimmed, dyed, waxed and painted, for my hair removal necessaries, Aronsons is the only place I trust. Don't come in expecting to be pampered, but tell them what you want and they work their magic. read more

Amazing place. Go to the first guy there who has black hair and wears glasses. Pretty good job from him. Love the place and hope it keeps on expanding. Give it more credit! read more

My sister went here to get her eyebrows and upperlip waxed. She has ataxia-induced tremor and is bilingual. Not only did their wax job scar her upper lip but they also offended her medical status while talking amongst each other, suggesting it was some kind of choice. SO disappointing. read more

Good haircuts. My husband comes here a few times to get his hair cut and likes what he gets. I also cut my hair once, just a simple trim. It was good enough for $5, no frills at all. Oh and recently, the prices have gone up to $7, FYI. read more

The ladies working here have f'd my hair up on to separate occasions all while being rude and hostile. All I asked for is layers with simple photo and the lady (while completely distracted talking to her colleagues) chopped my long, straight, hair, into a giant mess. They just want to get it over with and get it done as soon as possible. They don't care about work ethic or how well they do a task. If you want a very VERY quick, half a--ed job go here I guess but otherwise there are so many more options that are just as inexpensive with people who actually give you the time to make sure your hair looks good and not like a hot uneven mess. read more

Great place FOR THE PRICE. Five buck haircut so i really didn't have high expectations. If you want to fuss over your haircut then don't come here. I've been going here for about 2 years now because it's cheap, always open, good people (although I can't understand most of what's spoken because I don't speak Assyrian). The haircut I get is always pretty good and definitely no worse then what I'd get at a super cuts or other corporate place. I was tip the guy five bucks to go along with the five dollar charge read more
