The mozzarella that went on my sandwich being freshly made!
    Asma A.

This spot is an "if you know you know" Jersey legend. Wallington Deli is renowned for its house-baked bread and freshly made mozzarella. When I say fresh, I mean so fresh that the gentleman pulling the mozzarella to finish it pulled a sheet right in front of me for my sandwich, still hot and melted. This remains the only place where I've seen the mozz on my sandwich being made. I got the chicken parm cutlet. The bread was perfectly crusty and held up to the sauce well. The chicken cutlet was perfectly fried and crispy. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I did feel like the sauce could have benefited from a touch more salt, but overall, the most magical experience a person can get in Wallington. I'll certainly be back!

Fantastic deli with a perfect menu. No stupid sandwich names, just perfectly executed sandwiches. Bread is the best around.

This sandwich was great! The bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken cutlet is as good as everyone is saying and the vodka sauce was tasteful. I like that they put the sandwich in a container since the sandwich can get messy. I'll definitely be back to try other sandwiches and definitely recommend it if you're in the area.

Just wow. I had the #2 chicken cutlet sandwich with fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, a drizzle of balsamic, and a touch of fresh basil, and it was absolutely incredible. Every bite was bursting with flavor--the chicken was crispy and tender, the mozzarella creamy and fresh, and the peppers added the perfect sweetness. The balsamic brought everything together beautifully, and that hint of basil? Chef's kiss. It was refreshing, satisfying, and honestly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in a long time.

Have gotten uber eats from them twice in 3 days. I have yet to visit their store but I can firmly state that their italian sub is the best I have ever tried in my life. Bread is so fresh and has the perfect amount of crunch on the outside and is deliciously soft on the inside. Everything inside is perfectly ratio'd and super high quality. A perfect italian sub. The vodka parm was pretty great too.

This places is a sleeper. What a phenomenal sandwich. Who knew, I had a 5/5, a 10/10 right on my door step. I've tried all the sandwiches around here, some better than others, but this one is the best. This is the best Italian sandwich around, I can't wait to go back and try their other sandwiches. The bread is fresh baked, the cold cuts are succulent and the lettuce is crisp, right amount of vinegar. This is an old school good Italian combo. I'm elated

What a great sandwich, messy in the best of ways, vodka sauce was super creamy, cutlet was nicely seasoned and super juicy, and the bread was fresh, soft, and held up to the mess of the sandwich. The mutz is some of the best I have had in the area, creating that great pull you want when biting into the sandwich, I will be back

Chicken sandwich on home made bread with fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers

I have been here several times in the past couple of months. I have had several chicken sandwiches, however, my favorite sandwich by far is the cheesesteak on garlic bread. The sandwich is next level. So I walked in and saw a pizza oven and thought they made pizza too. Turns out I was wrong, they use the pizza oven to make their own bread. So ALL sandwiches in this place are made on their own, Homemade bread.this is a huge part of the reason the sandwiches are all so delicious. Any chicken sandwich you get is amazing. Also, when you walk in this place is very simple. A deli counter, a soda case, and one rack with Vickie's chips. Do not let this fool you. These people are banging out these sandwiches all day that are seriously impressive! It's definitely one of the top sandwiches in Bergen County. It's a must try!

Wow wow wow, what took me so long to come here?!?!?!? We ordered the cheesesteak, roast beef with mutz and gravy and the chicken cutlet with fresh mutz. Only problem was, they mixed up the order for the chicken cutlet with a ham sandwich instead (#5 instead of the #15). Honest mistake and when I called to inform them, they were sincerely apologetic and even offered to make the chicken cutlet sandwich right now for me to pick up, which I happily declined, giving us a reason to go back and order that sandwich on my next visit!

Ordered for pick-up on a Friday at around 6:30 when I had a craving for a chicken parm sammie. I didn't want to order from a pizzeria because most of the time, the chicken parm is fine, but the bread is not good, which can make or break the sandwich. Then I saw I had Wallington Deli bookmarked and saw they had what I wanted. I got the chicken parm with vodka sauce and hubby had the meatball parm with vodka sauce. The chicken parm was really good because the bread was excellent. It was a ciabatta bread but it was fresh ciabatta bread, even at the end of the day. It's the kind that's soft on the inside, but crunchy on the outside, yet doesn't scratch up the roof of your mouth. There was also a good amount of chicken and cheese in there. The meatball parm wasn't bad but probably not something I'd order again - just because I would prefer the chicken or to try a different sandwich. But, I think we may have found our new go to for chicken parm sammies!

This is my third time coming here, and I've said before in my Google review but I'll say it again! Truly a local blessing! I used to go to Matera's on Park Ave (in Rutherford) but I've since moved and was looking for a sandwich shop that would actually satiate my cravings, and UGHHH KEEEPS HITTING!!!! I got the ham, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, with oil and vinegar and uggh!! So good! Their bread is also high quality -- crisp and crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside! Attaching image here (don't mind the banana peppers, I added them on my own when I got home!)

Bread is key to any sandwich. This place has got it! Told too many people and they told too many people. The secret's out.

Absolutely lives up to the hype!…read more The pastrami is insanely tender like melt in your mouth kind of good. The sandwich is definitely messy, but that's how you know it's done right when its packed and stacked with meat! Even with a line out the door, the guys behind the counter cutting the meat are friendly and keep things moving. They even hand out samples while you wait, which makes the whole experience feel welcoming (and honestly makes the wait easier).

Update: I've finally tried the pastrami. The sandwiches are huge. We got the pastrami cheese…read morefries, and a corned beef reuben. The pastrami is really good and is very tender. The fries are steak fries, which I don't typically love but it worked well as a vehicle for the pastrami. The corned beef is a bit dry. We had some pierogies but these were superrrr oily. We also ordered a matzoh ball soup because I've never had it before. But the second I saw them microwave it in a plastic container, I knew I had made a mistake. It was basically just a matzoh ball in very salty chicken bouillon water. I'm sad that was my first matzoh ball soup experience but am not deterred from finding a real one elsewhere. Based on my previous visit and this one, it seems like you should just stick to a classic pastrami sandwich. It's big enough to share between two people. Next time, I'd like to dine in and eat it fresh. The sandwiches also come with a bunch of pickles, which was nice. Tip #1 - there is a parking lot but because there are so many stores and it's next to Bratek Deli, it's a nightmare. It did also happen to be Good Friday, so maybe that made it worse? I don't remember it being that bad the first time around. Tip #2 - I called ahead to place my order but still had to wait 15 minutes extra after the quoted time. They prioritize walk-in customers, so you might as well just order in store.

There were so many excellent options on Park Avenue that it was hard to select one, but we wound up settling on Suprema. The restaurant was an easy 5-minute walk from the train station and was, thankfully, very warm and cozy inside on that chilly evening. The service that we experienced throughout the night was also very friendly and gracious. After we were seated, we were told that the restaurant was BYO and that there was a liquor store across the street. I decided to quickly run over and grab a bottle of wine, since we had some time to enjoy our meal before the show started. In addition to the bottle of red, we began our dinner with a complementary bread basket and an appetizer to share. Sadly, the slices of bread were rather dry and hard, so I only indulged in a few bites. However, our Rice Ball starter was unbelievable! We received three massive, fried spheres of creamy risotto and gooey mozzarella that were sitting in a sweet, herbaceous basil pomodoro sauce. They were honestly the best arancini I thought I had ever had! For my main course, I ordered the Chicken Porcini, which included two large Bell & Evans boneless chicken breasts, served over a light, creamy golden potato puree. The poultry was topped with fresh, roasted cremini and porcini mushrooms, as well as a sweet wine and porcini glaze. It felt like an upscale, modern version of a chicken marsala. I adored every aspect of the dish, from the tender chicken to the aromatic mushrooms to the homestyle mashed potatoes (an item I do not even typically like). Suprema provided a stellar meal in a relaxed atmosphere that was the perfect pre-concert vibe we were looking for. Plus, the food was amazing, so we definitely made a wise choice in picking the place.

Highlights: Fried Calamari and meatball appetizers were great!…read more Mid-lights: The vodka chicken parm with rigatoni was good, but the chicken was a little too soft/soggy. Also the portions were a little small. Lowlights: The restaurant was a little understaffed, wait times for water, to take our order, to get our food was extremely long. 4 dishes ordered and dinner was 2.5 hours... Overall the food was good but pricey for what it was.
