Food is excellent and always consistent. The American Chicken and Goomba Sandwich are my favorites. Delicious seasoned fries are a must!

Ted's North Delicatessen 314 Spring Valley Rd. Paramus, NJ 07652 The Godfather French Fries This locally owned deli is very high profile and serves quality food. These are a couple of the popular menu items I explored: The Godfather: This sandwich was packed with thinly sliced roast beef and smothered in hot gravy and melted mozzarella cheese. It may appear small in size, but it was very filling. The appearance of the left sandwich looks off due to the gravy oozing out of the hero. Do not let that deceive you because this sandwich is phenomenal! French Fries: These fries practically eat like a meal. They are piled high and deep inside a Chinese container box. The serving quantity was more than plentiful. The crinkle cuts are generously sprinkled with Ted's North secret signature seasoning. They are so tasty you won't need any dipping sauces to supplement the frites. I enjoy the seasoning so much that I wish I could purchase it separately, but it's not for sale. Due to its popularity, there is usually a line, but it moves pretty quickly. There is no indoor or outdoor seating, but there are benches and tables nearby at Van Saun Park. If you decide to dine here, Ted's North is open Monday through Saturday, so please plan accordingly. #tedsnorth #tedsnorthdelicatessen #tedsnorthdeli #thegodfather #frenchfries read more

Come for the sandwiches, come back for the seasoned fries. Ted' North is a well known sandwich shop that has a long history. The line moves fast with quick service even with phone orders coming in. Sandwich choices can be found on the large board in the back, along with special sandwiches listed across the glass case. Two recommended sandwiches include the American Chicken which is a chicken cutlet topped with a BLT, and the Sloppy Ted if you like hot pastrami with coleslaw and Russian dressing. There are also side orders like the thick mac and cheese, or the show stealing seasoned fries. Hot, crispy, seasoned, and too delicious. The staff is as nice as nice can be with a million things happening between the ordering at the front, the food preparation, and orders coming out of the kitchen. The inside of the shop feels like it hasn't aged in decades and can feel like home to many that have been coming for years. This is the place to be for a delicious hearty sandwich, but don't leave without ordering the seasoned fries. read more

Ted's North is one of those places where it's honestly hard to order wrong. No matter what you get, it just hits. Blind order? Still a win. Even if you hate pickles and somehow end up with pickles... surprise, you're a pickle person now. Ted did that. The place itself is tiny, blink and you might miss it, but don't let the size fool you. This kitchen is putting out big flavor, zero nonsense. Everything tastes intentional, dialed in, and made by people who clearly care way too much, in the best way. As for cleanliness: it's solid. Not fancy, not sterile, just well kept and comfortable, exactly what you want from a neighborhood spot that's focused on great food, not white gloves. Service is quick, friendly, and efficient. No over the top spiel, just good people getting you good food without the wait. This is the kind of place you keep in your regular rotation and confidently recommend to anyone visiting. Ted's North isn't trying too hard, and that's why it works. Five stars, easy. Small space, big flavor, zero regrets. read more

Barb is the best! Really pleasant and the food is great and the price is affordable. The energizer with a hash brown usually does the trick for me, the blueberry muffin buttered and toasted is also a good play. They have good sandwiches and is a staple grab lunch to go spot! Small family owned sandwich spot (arguably one of the best delis around). Some of the best fries in the area which they're famous for. The portions at this place have gotten so ridiculous over the years. Maybe 5 slices of cold cuts on the hero for $15-$20 a pop. I asked for extra chicken on my hero and was charged for such: there was one cutlet on the hero. A single cutlet. They've been getting worse over the years, but this last go was insane and will be my last. Literally 5 slices of turkey on the hero, no less. read more

2 words: seasoned fries. Don't miss these!!!! The sandwiches are great here. After trying both breakfast and lunch items, lunch is definitely the way to go. Did I mention seasoned fries? Just making sure. A solid local spot. You can't go wrong but the spicy Italian and chicken cutlet are my go-to. It's a small place so it can get packed but they are super friendly and it's worth the wait. Highly recommend! read more

Fast service, tasty, always hits the spot. Solid sandwiches and heroes. I became a customer and fan from the Rochelle Park location.

Great sandwiches, quick service, reasonable prices! Staff is friendly and gets the order correct. Happy vibes all around.

Love their fries and they have great sandwiches here! Even when the line is long it moves fast. Would definitely go back!

What can I say, COVID has made me a take out sandwich connoisseur. And this is the blue ribbon winner, hands down. I've had The Godfather which was spectacular! I'm a guy that truly believes you can seriously screw up a sandwich by having too much bread or too much meat. You need a balance. The bread, meat, cheese, gravy balance was perfect. Sometimes too much gravy can make a sloppy soppy sub. Not the case here. I've also had the Gobbler. Honestly, you don't know how much you miss holiday food until it's May and you get a turkey and stuffing and gravy sandwich. This thing is just straight up a beast of a sandwich. One of the best I've ever had. Finally, I recently had the disco chicken. I can take this one or leave it. It's good but the starchiness of the fries kind of dried this one out. Still leaves and bounds ahead of other deli sandwiches but my least favorite of the three. Fries are good. Not much to say here but they are cheap and a good side so just get 'em. Prices are excellent, food is truly incredible, and take out his lightning fast. Great job Ted!! read more

Ted's North is the one of the best sandwich shops in Bergen County. So many great sandwich choices. Consistently great food. Fresh ingredients and great portions. Soups and salads are fantastic. Their chili is awesome. All their soups are delicious. Staff is wonderful. Great people. Always a pleasure to visit Ted's. Like visiting with old friends. I've been coming here for over 20 years and have never had a bad experience. Super small shop but 1000% worth any lines at lunch time. Ted's North is epic. Just the best. read more

This is one of those rare spots that as I'm eating I'm already looking forward to the next time I'll be back. This place is a gem. Solid and savory sandwhiches all around. Tons of delicious options to choose from. The staff is a well oiled machine. Even when the line is out the door, its usually 10 min or less. They rock! My only knock is that they have sandwich offering all over the place. One nice cohesive menu in one spot would be good for the less seasoned customers and or new people. Regardless, the place is awesome and make sure to get a bag of fries with whatever else you order. read more

Blown. Away. Dare I say top 3 sandwich I've ever had in my life. Service was phenomenal, vibe was perfect, sandwich was obviously spectacular. And don't get me started on the seasoned fries. Really great deli just a mile or two off of route 4 with plenty of parking. I ordered the Gobbler on a hero and small fries. The sandwich was perfect, with fresh turkey, stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce. The fries were plentiful and very good. I'm coming back for the Godfather. I was seriously debating getting two sandwiches since this is a drive for me but glad I didn't as the portions are huge (that's a good thing!). The people who work there are really nice as well and while there may be a line, it moves very quickly. read more

By far the best deli in Paramus; probably one of the top best in Bergen County. Lunch sandwiches, wraps, deli salads, fresh salads, and of course some of the BEST FRENCH FRIES you will ever have! The line is out the door, that's how you know it was amazing! Service is super fast, especially considering how busy they get during lunch. Some of my favorites = The Honey Honey Turkey wrap and egg whites + spinach breakfast wrap! Pro Tip = call ahead ! read more

This is a fabulous deli. It's getting harder and harder to find a good deli with straight up good bread and fresh cold cuts. I didn't have anything fancy: smoked Turkey and Swiss on a multigrain roll with lettuce, tomato, and Mayo. But you know how you know it's good? Because that nothing fancy was sooooo good. If they can make what is a usual special, then they're a winner. The bread was fresh and tasty. The Turkey was fresh so you could taste the smoke. The lettuce and tomato were fresh. Just a delight. read more

Ted's North is a Paramus STAPLE!! Their quick service, delicious sandwiches, and easy sides are tough to beat. There can be a wait if you go during a rush hour, but they have a good system going. I typically order the American Chicken on a roll - and you cannot forget to order the seasoned fries. I do have a problem with their logo, which you'll find on the back of the staff's t-shirts. The character shown fits a stereotypical depiction of a black man that is reminiscent cartoonish blackface. Their staff is always quite friendly, and I give them the benefit of the doubt that they didn't mean any offense, but I do hope they see this and reconsider updating their logo / t-shirts. read more

By far the best deli around friendly & great food . I'm there almost every day Thank you Ted's Deli for my morning fix .

So many fond delicious memories of Ted's from years ago, not sure what's changed but this was a rough lunch. Full disclosure this was ordered through DoorDash. The fries used to be seasoned delightfully but today not only were they soggy, had a sort of stale flavor and were SO salty they were honestly inedible. American chicken, there definitely used to be bacon on here...no bacon and just overall kind of messy now, bland really underwhelming. The Godfather...would be excommunicated for this. Garlic bread, no flavor. The gravy was sort of a very dark congealed situation which was visually not a hit and didn't really taste like anything either, mozzarella may have visited the sandwich but it certainly wasn't present like in years passed. Will always give them another try and not through door dash but it was really disappointing. read more

Place is pretty good. Never had a poor quality item on the menu and I've eaten here often as it's close to my job. Owner and staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. I'm a repeat customer because I'm never disappointed with what I get to eat!! I gave this place 4 stars because I'm not crazy about the bread they use so I don't get the hero's. Sometimes it can get a bit crazy in there in terms of lines and waiting so I suggest calling in advance. Otherwise enjoy the deliciousness!! read more

Truth be told, I have been to Teds Deli numerous times throughout my lifetime. In high school, this would be the hot spot to get lunch. Teds has some great options in regards to sandwiches, breakfast bagels and wraps, all priced somewhat fairly. Service is always friendly and quick. I've tried a variety of their sandwiches and must say the American Chicken Cutlet is my most favorite. I visited recently though and ended up ordering a Chipotle Chicken Sandwich as I did not want something heavy at the time. If you eat the American you're basically full for the rest of the day. I don't know if it's changed amongst the years but my sandwich was pretty subpar. I understand there is nothing special about my order but you could tell the grilled chicken was pre made because it was tough to chew. To add, the chicken on my sandwich was not enough for the thickness of the bread. I feel like I got ripped off. read more
