READ THIS SO YOUR NOT FOOLED BY REVIEWS AND THEIR WEBSITE. We came here for the first time after people raving about this place. Basically it's not that great. It was clean, they did water the main gravel driveways to keep dust down which was nice because it is very dusty. For being an off road vehicle friendly campground and paying per day for each off-road vehicle there's not much room to actually park anything. Which was frustrating. There are picnic tables but no fire rings. There's trees in every site but not the kind that produce any shade and they have drip systems that you are required to keep on which flood your site. So now you have dust and mud. The ponds they advertise in the resort are full of algae and green. My son called it a slime pit. The bathrooms and pool were not open so I can't comment on that. The office is only open Thursday-Sunday. We checked in on a Wednesday so our name was on the board and we pulled up to our site. We were not greeted or saw anyone our entire trip giving us a map or anything to even tell us where the trash cans are. The place IS NOT KID FRIENDLY. It is in regards to there's the road to ride their bikes that's all. The staff IS NOT FRIENDLY. My mother in law took my two kids to the store to buy them some ice cream or candy they are 3 and 6. The lady would not let them inside and said they cannot come in and the store is out of the resort by the road that you first turn in on. WHAT!? It advertises a store in the resort. We also had a very unfriendly run in with a lady in a white SUV the first time we took our side by sides out. We went on a trail minded the resorts MPH rule closed gates behind us like it said. This lady flew up and came out all fired up yelling at us that we were not supposed to be on these trails and we went through no trespassing signs. The signs were unclear as we interpreted them as guests were allowed. It was an honest mistake. To be treated like that especially with kids present is not okay. Would have been nice to been talked to respectfully and talk like adults and come to the conclusion we made a mistake. We also were told that the trail we were on we can't be on which upon looking further into it copper belt dr is a Blm trail. So we had every right to be on that trail. Maybe we could have gotten there a different way. There are no trails from the campground. We were told the only fishing is from their gazebo area and it's catch and release. Maybe because the river is so dirty and mucky brown. No clear spots. There is a very large cow farm right up the river not that far at all. Our guess it's so disgusting because the cows are contaminating it. As well as the grass area being completely covered in goose poop. Which I get they don't have control over but don't plan like a day there on a blanket or anything if you do decide to go to the nasty brown waterway. Further down the river at Wilson canyon it's not that way and it's not catch and release. Which there are no trails to get there either. You have to ride about 8-10 miles on the pavement. Which is the way the lady told us to go. To get to the ghost town DO NOT FOLLOW THE RESORTS DIRECTIONS. It got us so lost it was ridiculous. We figured we'd use that instead of our gps because it was forest service markers l. Well the markers either got removed or they give wrong directions. Which btw the lady yelling at us told us to go to the front to get a resort map smh. The hospitality of this place. We do a lot of camping and this place IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE. We will not be coming back. We thought getting to trails to go riding would be a lot easier than it was. I've included a picture of the map in case someone else is unfortunate like we were and got no welcome anything We'll continue to go elsewhere. Save the disappointment Find a different campground. For reference to copper belt dr the website is ohv.nv.gov. If you click on Wilson canyon and look at the trail map, find Walker river resort and the trail on the government website shows the trail we were on leaving the resort going to Wilson canyon. I've attached a photo of the map as well.

Highest peak trail!

Stayed here for Thanksgiving and it was great! Camping here was awesome, full hookups, beautiful views, super easy trail access. We even rented a cottage for one of the families in our party and cooked a huge Thanksgiving feast indoors (away from the rain). Cottage was fully stocked with cooking utensils, stove, oven, microwave, fridge and HEATER! The trails are super easy to get to for side by side riding and the views are beyond breathtaking. Can't wait to visit again!

The atmosphere is unique and elegant without being over the top. The food is amazing with so many options, I personally recommend the braised pork cheek and the bison carpachio, along with the braised short rib for the main. The bread pudding is top of the line dessert, just trust me its amazing. The service is on point and very quick and attentive as well as friendly and welcoming. I don't know her name but the female bartender is so nice and very informative, if you have any questions about food or drink options she is the go to gal. I believe they have just recently added close up magic in the dinning area and the show the gentleman, James Mako, put on was very entertaining and unique. I tried to beat the trick but he was too good and both my wife and I were enveloped in his magic. We will be coming here every chance we get and I can promise you will do the same from now on

The first floor is for shows and theaters. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor. Waiter/service are kind. But we did have to flag them down quite often to clear empty finished plates. Food: tapa food. So things don't come in great large quantities. Rather for taste and enjoyment. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the dishes. If you had to only try one, the portobello mushrooms were so good. Otherwise, everything is pretty tasty

We do not have any good places for shows in this town. OK, on to the food. My family and I had our Christmas get together here. We had a bunch of apps and I myself had the shrimp and grits. Super rad flavor on the grits and the apps were outstanding! The service was top tier and John gave us a little tour of the venue. Can't wait to see a show after a solid meal soon! Great atmosphere and a great addition to kick ass cuisine in Carson City. Lots of rad memorabilia on the walls and the owners have great stories about every single item in the place. A few additional thoughts... - The crafted cocktails are very interesting, but on the small side. - Our server recommended that we think about needing to order two dishes per person, but we found that 6 dishes for the 4 of us were plenty. - The food, once again, was very tasty. Our favorites this time were the Ricotta Gnuddi, Grilled Halibut, Filet Mignon, and the Pork Baby Back Ribs. - The vibe and fact that the dishes are brought out to the table slowly and incrementally makes the entire dining experience especially social/enjoyable.

We were going to make a reservation but a credit card was required - that felt excessive for a reservation on a Wednesday night so we risked it and just showed up. We were early (5:30) so we got seated right away. We got a variety of appetizers after my mocktails (very gingery, yum!). The ribs had a great sauce but were overcooked a bit. The burrata was nice but crostini was so hard I thought it might tear up my mouth. Gnuddi was tasty but very oily. Great ambience and perfect for a wine drinker - extensive list. We would bring family or friends there for a night classy night out, but it wasn't overwhelmingly amazing to us.

Seriously... order it when you come here. The service was amazing and so was the ambiance. We wanted schnitzel and were told they don't serve veal anymore so we got pork. No biggie as I eat pork but I know some people don't. Pork schnitzel was incredible (but you need that Jäger sauce poured all over, it really takes it up another notch. I ordered the Spätzle as well and I regret not getting the full size (ordered the half size). IT WAS SO GOOD!!! I almost licked the bowl clean. Woooowwww... Cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in Germany, somewhere high in the mountains…read more I lived in Germany for two years and I've always loved its cuisine that's so similar to the Polish food I grew up on. Schnitzel was a regular guest at our table. The schnitzel here was thin, tender, and fried to a golden crisp without a hint of grease. The rotkohl, German braised red cabbage, was sweet, tart, and gently spiced. I always like tasting items separately, and the only complaint was that the mashed potatoes had cooled, warm only where the schnitzel rested on top. This place is wonderfully authentic. Located right across from Heavenly Mountain Resorts base lodge, and the views are curated for a postcard. I love the rustic charm, alpine interior, and very lively energy. Service was warm and attentive and everyone around us was having a really good time. It's easy to see why this place is so popular and why it deserves to be, it's like a Bavarian hug in the middle of Tahoe.
