The shower was great and the water stayed super hot through both of our showers. The room was spacious and clean (though the floor could have been swept/mopped better imo). The first night we were there, someone got sick in the parking lot. I called the operator and explained the situation and asked if they had anyone to clean it up as it wasn't exactly what anyone wants to see and to my surprise they immediately sent someone out who was able to clean up that spot! Thank you!! The casino is small, but had some good games. Overall, I'd stay here again.

Coming south on 395 turn right at 88, the first stop light in town. Then turn left right away towards the Mavrick gas station and go straight all the way back. Lots of parking. Check in is easy and all the rooms are ready. I make sure to get a room on the first floor, cause it makes it way easier coming and going all the time like we do. I'm a rewards club member so I got my points posted right away. My room was nice and the AC was on already. The room was clean and everything worked, especially the WIFI is important. The bathroom was stocked and clean and the hot water pressure was great for some long showers that my little water tank at home won't let me do. I one gripe is, I love to just fill my travel coffee carafe full of hot coffee at the lobby coffee supply. Holiday Inn Express used to have the coffee available in bu holding carafes that held a lot of coffee. I just filled up and it was great. Now, they have these "fresh" brew as you go machines that only make one cup at a time, so if I wanna fill my carafe and bring it back to the room, I have to use both machines and brew single cups on each and then pour it into my container. Way more pain in the butt then it used to be. But I guess, that's just me, everybody else wants a single cup fresh ground and brewed. Other wise this stay is going just fine. So while going through all the choice hotels rigamarole for check in, the clerk offhandedly told me the handicapped room I requested was unavailable and that I could have one on the second floor. I volunteered him to carry my hundred pound suitcase up. He quickly relented and gave me a room on the first floor with its own handicap parking spot. To be fair, the room was clean and I saw no bedbugs. But there is no coffee. The grounds are shabby, small maintenance items outside are neglected like cleaning up smashed bottles in the parking lot. I got hives for about 15 minutes from some chemical they use in cleaning, typical of a low end hotel. Quality Inns tend to vary widely in quality because the chain obviously has no standards it enforces. This one needs to be booted from the franchise and promptly demolished.

Genoa is a very charming and pretty town and very different than the nearby Carson City sprawl…read more Gayle has family here and I love coming up for a few days, especially in winter and during Candy Dance or the Genoa Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival. And from the Deck, the expansive view of the Carson Valley is stunning and soothing. Every time I come up, there's the latest talk about folks trying to make Genoa a "Destination". The area certainly seems to do nice Wedding business, and I particularly enjoy hanging out at the Genoa Bar. There are also a few nice places to eat such as La Ferme. Past that, it's my sense that this particular marketing plan isn't working as well as it should. David Walley's Resort recently went through a management change during an interesting "quiet" period and the relatively recent "Genoa Square" development is only left with the Dancing Deer and a reopened Genoa Country Inn. The Genoa Coffee & Candy Company was the latest closure, with the rumour that the landlord forced them out due to complaints of coffee odors (?) wafting through the hotel rooms. Oy. The Genoa Country Inn has 11 rooms and is a nice place with wi-fi and the usual other amenities (including view). It's an easy walk to anywhere within the Genoa Town Site, and if you just want peace and quiet, this place may be a good choice for you. However, if you want a little "excitement", South Lake Tahoe is a winding drive over the Kingsbury Grade, and greater Carson City or the "Twin Cities" of Minden and Gardnerville are all easy rides. Just watch the occasional speed trap on Jacks Valley Road.

Everything works great in the room also, and we had no complaints, except maybe that the bed was a little uncomfortable. My husband had trouble sleeping but I can sleep on pretty much anything pretty happily. I'll be sad when 11 o'clock rolls around and we check out. This Inn is conveniently located in the center of a town and area that I would like to spend a little more time day-exploring. Looks like an excellent reason to come back!

We talked with some ladies in the hot springs who were a floor above us- they never hear the alarm. The jacuzzi in our room wouldn't turn on jets when I tried it. This was during a thunderstorm-so the hot springs were out of the question. The front desk was caring and offered to send maintenance- but I had already added my essential oils and soak mixture- so I just needed to soak at that point. I'm sure they have resolved these issues after we checked out. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the room- as well as the large deck for sunrise, sunset, and watching the stars and clouds. Plenty of parking in the lot The hot springs were cleaner in the mornings- so not sure if that happens 1x a day, We went in the first night- but lots of debris in the tubs Cleaner next morning. We also had red about different temperatures on the different hot spring pools/ did not find a difference in temperature Also, the jets are not turned on for the hot springs. Apparently this happened years ago. There is a morning water aerobics class Monday and Wednesday at 8. This seems to be popular. We enjoyed eating at the restaurant on the property the first night. We had to sit in the bar area due to a large party booking the whole dining room- this was one of the best meals we had while in the area- just wish they were open more days. They are closed Monday and Tuesday. Easy checkout- we were able to do it from our phone and leave our wristbands in the room

My sister and I stay here two to three times a year for sisterly time. Though rustic and in need of…read moremaintenance we truly enjoy this place. However, the last three times there has been a terrible and law breaking issue. I am in a wheelchair and need the pool chair lifts to access hot springs and pools. Three times these have not been working. The first time they were not fixed at all and ultimately were replaced. I could not use any of the pools. The last time, just last week, none were working again. Day one I was asked to wait, in the sun while batteries were found. An hour and a half later I was a mess but they got the pool lift working, but not the hot spring one. The ride in a wheelchair from Building A or B is scary and dangerous as the pavements everywhere are rough and have pot holes , Insurmountable curbs and rocks. And mud. ADA compliance is way off! I have not filed a formal complaint as yet, but will the next time. The fine is $75000 for the first violation and the pools will be closed to everyone until they are in compliance. I have told the manager about all this as well as how dangerous moving around the campus is when wheelchair bound. Guess they are waiting for an injury to happen before they do needed repairs to the sidewalks and curb cut outs. The curb cut out for access to the check in and office in Building B is too step and canted so much that it can easily cause a user to tip over. So far I have found people parking in front of it so there is no access, even though it is marked well by blue paint. A wheelchair user has to go around the building to another cut out quite far from the office. The office doors are manual only, opening out. Possible, but very difficult to gain access and there are two sets of doors.

Not the bathroom mirror, not the toilet, not the floors.. NOTHING! Apparently this is a PAY AND DIY place.? We've had several more issues with her and it's clear by how everyone talks about her that we're not the only ones. Other then HER. This place is okay for emergency's I guess. The owner is nice! But like the other reviewers said.. he doesn't seem to do anything about her. What blows my mind tho is that CUSTOMERS are what KEEPS you in business. Bre went above and beyond showing me where everything was, I'm actually suprised she isn't a manager. Bre took time to listen to the concerns and made sure we got a call back the next morning and literally is an all star. Holiday inn isn't holiday inn with Bre to our family from now on. The cabin is amazing and extremely clean, it has a full on washer and dryer built in and all cooking utensils. It's a big resort and has had new management since and honestly it all for it. The marketplace and jacuzzi were extremely clean and there's plenty of parking and very very quiet. Only con is that it's a resort away from a resort in Lake Tahoe itself. You have to drive through a treacherous snake-like road for 10 miles before finding the resort. But hey, it's the best bang for the buck and honestly I didn't want to leave a review because of how great it was and didn't want prices to go up. I would have to minus one star though because my Priceline resort fee was suppose to be $38, but I was charged $79.10 at the counter.
