Basically our room was two rooms that have been converted into a suite that has a kitchen, little dining island, living room, and a separate bedroom and bathroom. It has two doors to enter, so a little weird but honestly, super practical. The rooms were very quiet and I couldn't hear any noise from any neighbors. The shower was great and the water stayed super hot through both of our showers. The room was spacious and clean (though the floor could have been swept/mopped better imo). The first night we were there, someone got sick in the parking lot. I called the operator and explained the situation and asked if they had anyone to clean it up as it wasn't exactly what anyone wants to see and to my surprise they immediately sent someone out who was able to clean up that spot! Thank you!! The casino is small, but had some good games. Overall, I'd stay here again.

Rooms were great - temperature controlled well, very clean and modern looking. Only negatives were housekeeping knocked twice to clean our room on our check-out day, and gave a lil sass when we weren't ready. And access from hotel room to street/walkable restaurants (which there were plenty!) was tough. There was no back entrance so it was a good 5 min walk to leave the building. I will definitely come back though, it had everything I needed! And the slots treated me well :))

I saw a couple but surprisingly didn't hear any dogs at all. (I was on the 2nd floor.) 2) Rooms are clean and tidy overall, and beds are comfortable, with lots of pillows. Housekeeping tried to clean my room after the first night (had my "Do Not Disturb" on the door) - no further attempts will be made if you have that sign on your door in the early morning and don't ask for cleaning/tidying later. (They put a little card under your door to remind you of this.) 3) Breakfast is served daily, broad range of hours, with hot options like eggs, omelets, potatoes, biscuits w/ sausage gravy, and meat choices - sausage, turkey sausage, and/or bacon (REAL bacon, not microwaved kind, and was perfectly cooked). I enjoyed the cinnamon roll-type pastries daily. They also have a pancake machine, juice, etc. 4) Again, this is a family-friendly hotel, taper your expectations. Kids run down halls and slam doors, babies cry, TVs are on at random times (audible through walls), and you can hear everything going on in the parking lot. It wasn't a quiet stay. Although the GM Perry (?) and other staff really care and try to please everyone, including room switching, realistically there's nothing they can do about these things outside of their control. (P.S. I have three kids and have never allowed running down hotel hallways or slamming doors - to those that might say "kids will be kids.") Would I stay here again? Probably, on the third floor lol. It has plenty of potential, hence my 4-star review. The GM and staff genuinely want guests to have a pleasant stay. I just happened to experience all of #4 above, so it was a pretty exhausting business trip.

Can't say enough about the free breakfast everything was fresh eggs boiled and 2 types plain or vegetarian potatoes seasons well. A protean sausage. And from the Deck, the expansive view of the Carson Valley is stunning and soothing. Every time I come up, there's the latest talk about folks trying to make Genoa a "Destination". The area certainly seems to do nice Wedding business, and I particularly enjoy hanging out at the Genoa Bar. There are also a few nice places to eat such as La Ferme. Past that, it's my sense that this particular marketing plan isn't working as well as it should. David Walley's Resort recently went through a management change during an interesting "quiet" period and the relatively recent "Genoa Square" development is only left with the Dancing Deer and a reopened Genoa Country Inn. The Genoa Coffee & Candy Company was the latest closure, with the rumour that the landlord forced them out due to complaints of coffee odors (?) wafting through the hotel rooms. Oy. The Genoa Country Inn has 11 rooms and is a nice place with wi-fi and the usual other amenities (including view). It's an easy walk to anywhere within the Genoa Town Site, and if you just want peace and quiet, this place may be a good choice for you. However, if you want a little "excitement", South Lake Tahoe is a winding drive over the Kingsbury Grade, and greater Carson City or the "Twin Cities" of Minden and Gardnerville are all easy rides. Just watch the occasional speed trap on Jacks Valley Road.

My husband and I were surprised at the size of the room when we walked in; it was huge! There's a large bathroom area, and tons of room around the bed and by the mini fridge and coffee station. There's also a nice table and chairs, a modest TV, and a terrific balcony with an outstanding view. Our bathroom, as well as the bedroom (and everything else), was very clean. Everything works great in the room also, and we had no complaints, except maybe that the bed was a little uncomfortable. My husband had trouble sleeping but I can sleep on pretty much anything pretty happily. I'll be sad when 11 o'clock rolls around and we check out. This Inn is conveniently located in the center of a town and area that I would like to spend a little more time day-exploring. Looks like an excellent reason to come back!

The townhomes are beautiful and have 3 levels. I see they've made some improvements- probably based on families. The stairs are steep, so with two kids running around, it can be nerve wrecking. I saw they added nice child gates to the top of their sets of stairs. In the townhomes, you have 3 levels and 2 patios: one patio on the second floor (living area with a half bath) with an egg chair and table setting. The third level is the bed space and that patio has the soaking tub and a little seating area. Their main bathroom is huge- beautiful modern shower with a huge soaking tub for two. The soaking tub takes some agility getting in and out, but is nice and deep and has jets. It takes a while to fill up, but once it does, it's really relaxing. We love how both walls next to the sliding glass doors on both levels have a see thru fireplace. Such a cute, romantic detail that's nice to have running while you're relaxing. The heated floors in the bathroom are an added perk. Oh! And you get your own garage- even though you still have to access the home from outside the garage. They are incredible accommodating. They have a list of things offered on request like kids toys, hygiene kits, ironing board, etc. They get added points for having those really expensive amazing Dyson hair dryers as their hair drying option too It's one of our favorite places to stay!

There was a half a roll of toilet paper and the towels smelled as if they hadn't been washed in a long time.I didn't use the toilet until around 6:00 pm and when I did it didn't flush.I called the office and the manager said something about calling a maintenance man.She never offered to move me to another room and I thought it was because the motel was full. She indicated that almost all the rooms were now weeklies. She herself came over to try to fix it and agreed it would need a more extensive repair. It only flushed when you took off the tank and lifted the chain.I really didn't want to do that all night. When I checked out I asked if I might be compensated at a later date for the inconvenience. She said yes,but when I called on the date she had delegated she wanted 50.00 for compensation. Then she said the toilet wasn't broken which was a straight lie. I was there over the holidays and she had told me about charging a man an extra 24.00 because he checked in at 4:00 am.I think she is simply dishonest.I don't really know if the motel is weeklies or a regular motel any more.It used to be a nice place.I won't be back. The day I was there was my birthday.
