Place is a dive! If i could give a negative star I would. Management is very rude. Very dirty. Would not recommend.

Basically our room was two rooms that have been converted into a suite that has a kitchen, little dining island, living room, and a separate bedroom and bathroom. It has two doors to enter, so a little weird but honestly, super practical. The rooms were very quiet and I couldn't hear any noise from any neighbors. The shower was great and the water stayed super hot through both of our showers. The room was spacious and clean (though the floor could have been swept/mopped better imo). The first night we were there, someone got sick in the parking lot. I called the operator and explained the situation and asked if they had anyone to clean it up as it wasn't exactly what anyone wants to see and to my surprise they immediately sent someone out who was able to clean up that spot! Thank you!! The casino is small, but had some good games. Overall, I'd stay here again.

CVI is our place to stay whenever we're in town. Which is pretty often. At least 2-3 times a year…read more We usually stay in the RV park when we have our van with us. We have stayed in the hotel a couple times as well. We're pretty satisfied with both areas. This time we're staying in the motor lodge section of CVI. It's ok. Not our favorite. The room needs a lot of updating. It's a little dingy in some areas and it's not as clean as we expected it to be. Curtains have hooks missing and signs of stains. Bathroom rusting in some spots and exhaust fan cover just hanging to dear life. It's a nice location and it's walking distance to a lot of places. Oh also, the walls are super thin. We can hear our neighbors talking clearly. It's like they're just in our bathroom at 1 point their conversation was so clear. This motor lodge had a lot of potential so please please CVI management please consider updating and give the rooms some attention. It's going to be really bad in a couple of months if it's not attended to asap. Love love love CVI. Staff is 110% helpful and kind!!! Save the motor lodge. Do t let it be an afterthought

The rooms: gorgeous: they have historic artifacts all over the place and there's a gold rush era vibe here. Indeed their pet friendly and there's a park close by where you can walk your little furry fuzzbutt. I love a child where you can actually park right in front of your room and you don't have to ride elevators or go up numerous lights and stairs carrying everything because I feel like sometimes you get worn out playing all day and then you get to your hotel and it's even more struggle so having the car 10 feet from the door is one of my favorite things about hotels like this. The view is pretty killer: you can see Jobs Peak from Eddy St and that is one of the most picturesque sites you can have in this town. It is snow covered even in the early summer and reminds you that Tahoe and Kirkwood are just around half an hour drive away. When the hotels in Tahoe are full, this is a good back up location to come stay. Try to make it out to Topaz Lake if you can. I found the staff here to be friendly and I had to interact with them several times because the key card will immediately get degaussed if it comes anywhere near your phone. I'm guessing it's the MagSafe feature of the iPhone that is erasing the hotel card but I can tell you I've erased three and I've only been here 15 hours! So that's why I don't give it. Five stars is that they really need to come up with the way that you can carry both your hotel room key and your iPhone in the same pocket I think. For now, put your iPhone in one pocket and put your room key cards in the other and keep them separated "you gotta keep em separated"

Genoa is a very charming and pretty town and very different than the nearby Carson City sprawl…read more Gayle has family here and I love coming up for a few days, especially in winter and during Candy Dance or the Genoa Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival. And from the Deck, the expansive view of the Carson Valley is stunning and soothing. Every time I come up, there's the latest talk about folks trying to make Genoa a "Destination". The area certainly seems to do nice Wedding business, and I particularly enjoy hanging out at the Genoa Bar. There are also a few nice places to eat such as La Ferme. Past that, it's my sense that this particular marketing plan isn't working as well as it should. David Walley's Resort recently went through a management change during an interesting "quiet" period and the relatively recent "Genoa Square" development is only left with the Dancing Deer and a reopened Genoa Country Inn. The Genoa Coffee & Candy Company was the latest closure, with the rumour that the landlord forced them out due to complaints of coffee odors (?) wafting through the hotel rooms. Oy. The Genoa Country Inn has 11 rooms and is a nice place with wi-fi and the usual other amenities (including view). It's an easy walk to anywhere within the Genoa Town Site, and if you just want peace and quiet, this place may be a good choice for you. However, if you want a little "excitement", South Lake Tahoe is a winding drive over the Kingsbury Grade, and greater Carson City or the "Twin Cities" of Minden and Gardnerville are all easy rides. Just watch the occasional speed trap on Jacks Valley Road.

My husband and I were surprised at the size of the room when we walked in; it was huge! There's a large bathroom area, and tons of room around the bed and by the mini fridge and coffee station. There's also a nice table and chairs, a modest TV, and a terrific balcony with an outstanding view. Our bathroom, as well as the bedroom (and everything else), was very clean. Everything works great in the room also, and we had no complaints, except maybe that the bed was a little uncomfortable. My husband had trouble sleeping but I can sleep on pretty much anything pretty happily. I'll be sad when 11 o'clock rolls around and we check out. This Inn is conveniently located in the center of a town and area that I would like to spend a little more time day-exploring. Looks like an excellent reason to come back!
