But if you've got new young puppers in your family, this is the place to take them. The trainers and staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and genuinely love all of the doggos so much. They get a very good read on their personalities in the small group setting, and mix and group dogs accordingly in different spaces while also allowing time for breaks and hydration. The space is always super clean and inviting, with big windows in the front to see the main play area. Our dog Oliver is a very assertive player, and they always make sure he gets to play his way -- even if it's with the staff! If I'm honest, our guy has probably aged out of Bark Tutor, but we keep bringing him back because it's his favorite place in the world. He's been to daycare at many other places in and out of town, but nothing gets his bottom wiggling like a day at Bark Tutor.

I just stopped going on vacations after that. :( Then I found Katy the K9 Keeper! Katy and her husband are so warm and welcoming, and they immediately make you feel like you and your pup are part of their family. The first time Roxy stayed with them, Katy knew I was worried about how she would do. She sent me photos and text updates during my trip--totally unprompted!--so my mind would be at ease and I could enjoy vacation. Roxy has stayed with them several times since then, and she's always SO excited when I pull in the driveway. There are always a few other fun dogs to play with, and they have a great backyard for ZOOMIES! They work with you to coordinate drop-off and pick-up times that are convenient for your schedule, and they have a frequent stay punchcard that you can use to earn free nights. We started with five in-home sessions when our Bernese Mountain Dog was five months old, then enrolled her in the two-week Stay & Train program at 7 1/2 months. The combination was exactly what we were looking for. The in-home sessions taught us how to work with our dog, and the Stay & Train helped her become reliable even in high-distraction environments. Our goal was a well-mannered giant-breed dog who would be enjoyable to live with, confident around people, and a pleasure to take anywhere.
