Near to our Airbnb with a later opening time and therefore no line (or we were the start of the line) when they did open. It was kinda nice. We were tired and hungry and were happy to not have a wait time. I got a lavender-y brunch cocktail that was ok...turns out on the day I really just wanted coffee and didn't know it yet. They've got a good looking menu and I was pleased to find something a little interesting to have. The smoked turkey and avocado eggs benedict. A really tasty combination, but very VERY messy and difficult to eat. I also got some cheesy grits, which came as a MUCH larger serving than I anticipated. I could not finish them, no matter how good they taste! There were sports on the TVs even early in the day and it looked like a lot of locals like this spot and there were several regulars. Loved out waitress. She was very attentive and funny. We only got a taco and a drink as we were doing a taco walk. We made it to 3 places for tacos and we thought that the tacos at Walk was the best of 3 and that includes a place with Taco in the name. Walk's taco had a very thin and crispy corn shell and the pico de guilo was superb. I had the tempeh on mine and it was also fantastic. That and the tequila and soda made for a great stop. Our waitress suggested several places to stop at and we used much of her advice. I wish I remembered her name but short hair and some tattoos and awesome. We were headed to another restaurant but they didn't have reservations until 8 pm. Yikes! We found this place and I'm so glad we didn't go there. This place went in the opposite direction of the evening traffic and was easy to find with no parking woes. The place was fairly empty so we were seated quickly. The hostess did just stare at us when we walked in so that was a bit weird. The space was open and the tunes were going so after we ordered my kids started dancing. I loved that the place felt welcoming enough to do so. Some of the guys playing pool even started dancing with my kids. There was a section of seating that had the garage door open and the breeze was flowing and just provided a great atmosphere. The food was good! I wasn't sure what to expect with it having a bar and pool table, jukebox feel but I was really pleasantly surprised. We ordered apple juice for the kids, water for us and the items pictured and Mac-n-cheese and fries. The Brussels had a good balance-still crisp but not breaking teeth. There was great depth of flavor. The tofu actually had flavor and the slaw it was served with really packed a punch! The patty melt was delicious. The bread was buttered and had the perfect amount of crunch. Sometimes kids Mac and cheese is basic but my husband said it actually had flavor. The fries were crispy too. Price was great. While visiting Asheville we found this spot. SUPER cool hipster restaurant. They have a pool table, very spacious, nice bar with great drinks and beer selection. We were a group of 4 and our server knew his stuff and was very friendly. I was super happy to see a smaller size burger since I'm not a big eater. Their 2oz burger was PERFECT! Updated review time! Now that I'm more detail oriented, I feel like I would provide better feedback This place is still in neighborhood favorite. Still a solid four-star. The service is very kind but if you go during lunch, there may only be one server/bartender. They definitely work hard and are friendly. I love the sandwiches and their sides. Sweet potatoes are always a good option. The salads are certainly a hit or miss. I've gotten all of them and at times the shrimp is incredibly salty or there's too much cheese or just doesn't feel balanced in general. The last time I went, it was drenched in dressing. RK so it's pretty bland and pretty cold. The server did heat it back up though. I like that I have a good amount of liquor, Beer, and wine. The prices are pretty reasonable. Parking is incredibly difficult unless you go during off hours. Great for groups or a little dinner or lunch date. Some of the most reasonable prices and quality food in the area. read more

Charging someone for the aioli needed to make a dry sandwich edible is terrible hospitality. I should have quit patronizing them years ago when I was sexually and verbally harassed by an inebriated patron and the bartender told me she would not kick him out because she had empathy for his feelings. A really solid choice for reasonably priced, delicious food in a fun environment. We recently rediscovered WALK, after dropping in on a Tuesday evening for an early dinner. Taco Tuesday is one of the best bargains in the city! We ordered chips and queso, each had two tacos and my daughter had the kids grilled cheese with a side of mac and cheese. I also had a PBR and the bill was just over $30! I was truly amazed. Not only was it a great bargain, but our server was so friendly and gracious. When I told her we were in a hurry, she said, "you picked the right day, it's taco Tuesday and most of our tacos come out pretty fast." The tofu taco was so tasty. Full of flavor and satisfying. The al pastor was also good. My husband had a crispy beef taco that he really enjoyed and also the gyro taco. We all enjoyed our dinners. A few days later, we went back on a Friday for lunch. Burrito Salad for me and my husband had the Rise and Shine special. Everything was incredibly delicious. I was so happy. The Burrito Salad with the chipotle lime vinaigrette is delicious! I love the combination of rice, black beans and greens. It's fresh, crisp and light. As for the Rise and Shine, my husband devoured it. I had a bite and it was killer. Me and my party of three visited last Friday night. We tried to arrive early to avoid the long lines and we were fortunate to only get a 15 minute wait. I think they were a bit understaffed because empty tables were taking a while to get cleaned. We were seated right by the front door which may be the worst spot in the restaurant. Unfortunately the door gets opened a lot and patrons prop it open as they wait. That is a big drawback to that one table. Our server was nice, but service was brutally slow. Mixed drinks and beer took 20 minutes plus and our apps and food was similar. I ordered the special burger with peanut butter and it was pretty tasty. The tots were a bit burnt, but still nice. We also got the sliders, quesadilla, and the Turkey Reuben. We also got the friend pickles. The food was all nice. My wife also ordered the the apple pie old fashioned which she said tasted like an old mans drink. I gave it a taste and really liked it. I ordered the blueberry lemonade and it was well made. All in all I think Walk should be around 3.5-4 stars but the service issues are hard to ignore. read more

Love the menu here. It has some solid plant based menu options. I tried the tofu taco and the Avocado Tempeh Melt. My fiance had the blueberry bourbon wings and we split some brussel sprouts. Somethings were good others average so that's why the 4 stars. The Avocado tempeh melt was 5 stars. The protein portion is HUGE and packed with Salty savory flavor. The tempeh is locally made and you can tell the difference in how fresh it is. They really pack a good amount of fresh chunks of avocado. A total homerun. Tofu taco was a complete miss. The tofu was bland and there was nothing in the taco to make up for the taste. It's like they hit it out of the park with the tempeh sandwich but gave up on the tofu dish. The brussel sprouts were very average. They were sautéed or boiled and really needed to be baked or fried to be crispy. The sauce was also lacking any real flavor. read more

Delightful! Converted restaurant space that appears to have once been a garage of some kind or perhaps they leaned into the industrial look WALK was a delicious lunch spot. My friend and I came here and I was on a chicken kick so I tried the fried chicken sandwich. It was great! Tender, flavorful, juicy, savory, and just oh so delicious I really loved every bite! The slaw was a nice touch too - it was crunchy and peppy which really complimented the sandwich. The drinks were ok. Having drank at a variety of the craft cocktail bars on my vacation I found the drinks here paled but they weren't bad. My bee's knees was just a bit unbalanced - a bit too sweet, not entirely mixed well, and the gin didn't compliment the drink. My friend had mentioned the same for hers but neither of us were displeased. Our waitress was a gem - a gentle soul who was present and kind. There were a couple mistakes but she quickly corrected them with a smile on her face and a laugh. It wasn't too busy when we came in so I think that helped take any pressure off. My only suggestion would be that they need to know their ingredients in all their food. I had ordered the mac and cheese but asked if the macaroni noodles were egg based or not. Macaroni noodles can go a couple different ways - durum wheat or egg. I can eat durum wheat noodles but egg noodles will rip me inside out. Our waitress went to check and came back saying the kitchen didn't know because the noodles had no ingredients on them. I couldn't chance it so I opted not to order them. I get it is impossible to account for every allergy but covering the big 8 is always a safe bet. It didn't matter as the chicken was delicious. Seriously good chicken! This place was a treat. Came on a Tuesday night for dinner when they had some fun Taco Tuesday specials. We started with a fun peach salsa and chips. Whatever Fresca cold tomato in a can salsa mix they had tasted old and too cold that it just made the taco taste odd. Taco shell immediately fell apart. The beef didn't taste seasoned. The black beans were flavorless and super mushy. And the white rice taste like plain 5 min rice from uncle Ben's. Wish it was at least Spanish rice with a Spanish dish. We ordered takeout around 10:30 pm. The place was fairly empty. I got the BLT with no tomatoes. Weird, I know. Friend ordered the chicken tenders. Over the phone, we ordered a small vanilla cupcake and by the time we got to the restaurant, they informed us that they were lol out. I was super disappointed. I think they should pack the cupcakes with the food order to prevent them "selling out" before the order is picked up. Food was alright overall. My last review for Walk was three stars and not favorable. However, I was compelled to give them a second chance, and I'm glad I did because it changed my opinion of the establishment. For starters, I gave them an extra star for excellent customer service. I am not the type of person who complains to a manager when I have a bad experience. I simply write a review and move onto another establishment. Luckily (and I say that because we would've missed out on quality food otherwise) someone here pays attention to yelp reviews, and offered to make up for it. I gave them the fifth star because the second time we went here, it was a much improved experience. We arrived at 11:30 (opening) on a Tuesday for lunch. The service was excellent; with the server being very attentive, asking questions, making sure we understood the price structure, checking in on us regularly, refilling my water, etc. The food was much better than the last time. We ordered the buffalo wings for an appetizer. Not only were the proportions worth the cost, it arrived to our table before the rest of our food. Probably less than 5 minutes before, but was still served first. I ordered the turkey melt and my husband ordered the steak melt, both with fries on the side. Not only did the quantity of the food warrant the price (I had to take half my sandwich home as I couldn't finish my meal), but the quality was spot on. Probably one of the best sandwiches I have had in Asheville so far. In conclusion, I am very happy that management enticed us back, because they're "A game" is definitely worth experiencing. Typically, I would dock a star for the bathrooms (could've been cleaner) and not automatically bringing water to the table (overly finicky on my part, but I am very attached to that old-time tradition), however I feel as though they have more than earned a 5-star review. Do people say, "run don't WALK here" a lot? I wonder, but the cliche is true. This is a cool place. So I know nothing about the location other than my GPS took us over the river and through the woods to get to here. Once we found a parking spot (basically all street parking) we went inside. It's got a cool vibe. One part hipster one part sports bar but everyone gets along happily. I ordered their special which was a Hawaiian chicken wrapped in NAAN bread. Delicious. Like an idiot I forgot to ask for no fried plantains. I know, I live in south Florida, but they aren't my thing. This sandwich was stuffed with two big hunks of chicken. I got a side of sweet potato tots which were really, really good. The prices were really reasonable and the service was great. They even offered us to-go drinks (for our tea, not liquor). Heres a hidden gem that I forget about often. Searching places for breakfast/brunch and this place popped up as a reminder. For a late Sunday morning this place still had available seating when walking in. If you don't know about this place, you should. I need to start coming here more often. This is such a great place for food, drinks and hangouts. It has a great atmosphere along with a pool table and a cocktail arcade (google it). Two tvs at the bar so you don't miss the game (today MLS). Did I mention the food here? Of course I did! See my pics attached and youre welcome when ordering. Friendly staff and food is served in a timely manner! I recommend the French toast with fried chicken, maple bacon and some other stuff I can't remember (see pic).
