I can only reiterate what other here have said. walk-a-pup, dan, yana and the entire crew are just absolutely terrific. so much much more than dog walkers, they really become your dogs friends. these are not just people that make sure your dog goes out in the yard while you are at work. These are real pet lovers who have excellent skills with both people and dogs. They are super professional and knowledgeable about all aspects of canine training and obedience. not to mention fully vested in getting to know your dog and their quirks, needs, personality, etc. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. they are a total package and I know my Dog is in the best hands under their care. Our dog loves them all, especially Dan. but each and every person on the team has been nothing but professional, respectful and trustworthy. they all go that extra mile to really make you feel comfortable, and also will work with you when the needs arise. we have used them for day walks, in house pet sitting, and will be using them for overnight sitting very soon. I cant recommend them enough. they are running an excellent operation, with professionalism as well as heart. I could not be happier with them, and could never use anyone else. read more

Lovely people walking my pup reliable and on time. Gus seems to enjoy his walks. He's a happy pup when he goes out and comes back. What more could I ask read more

My dog Millie has been attending and it's been one of the best things I've done for her! She gets picked up and dropped off for a session 3x a week. She seems to really enjoy the training part of the session because she loves working and eating. The owners and staff are super responsive and trust worthy. Thank you!!! read more

Love this service. All the people who work with WalkAPup are fantastic. They take especially good care of my dog, and she loves everyone there!! It's a win win! read more

We are so grateful to have found Walk A Pup. We adopted our dog last year and worked with Dan for one on one training sessions which helped create some healthy habits for our dog and also put me at ease as a first time dog owner. Since then we've used Walk A Pup for group dog walks and for playgroups. All of the staff work on training and manners every time they come to get our pup and he gets so excited to go with them and see his friends! Dan and Yana have been fantastic to work with and are always very responsive to any concerns or questions. I'd highly recommend Walk A Pup to anyone in the Salem/Beverly area looking for dog walking, playgroups or training! read more

My dog has been walking with this service for around 6+ years. He loves his walkers. As well as the dogs he walks with. I am forever thankful to his walkers. They are such nice people and always accommodate his needs. I have never had any problems with this walking service and trust them completely with my dog. read more

I have been using Walk A Pup for almost a year to care for my blind pug with daily walks and pet sitting while away. Yana and Dan are incredibly professional and caring, and they truly understand animals. Additionally, they are very flexible and have a great team of dog walkers that work with them. When Corky became sick, Yana and Dan were very flexible and rearranged their schedules so that he could have multiple visits per day instead of just his normal one. Additionally, they are very good with his special needs and are able to give him his medication and food in the middle of the day, which was going to be impossible for me as I work in Boston. The best part of using Walk a Pup is that they leave detailed notes detailing how their visits go during the day. It is always fun for me to get home from work and read about how my dog got to play with the puppy across the street or go on a walk with another dog. I have been extremely satisfied with Walk A Pup and would highly recommend them for anyone looking for pet sitting or dog walking services. read more

Dan and Yana are so much more than Dog Walkers! They are knowledgeable, patient, open-minded dog trainers who truly care about our dogs. I have a very special rescue dog who is terrified of people. In the 10 months we've had him, he's only warmed up to me and boyfriend. He barks at anyone who comes into the house, cowers, tries to escape, and is in shear panic mode until the visitor leaves. Yana and Dan come twice a week to help with Truman's issues. They try a different exercise with him at every visit and I am blown away by how well Truman responds to them. In just two weeks, they've made great strides with him and I am hopeful for his continued improvement. I just wish I had called them earlier! We've tried other so-called 'dog professionals' in the past and they do not begin to compare with Walk a Pup. Call them! You won't regret it. read more

I can't say enough about Dan and Yana- as people, as dog lovers, as business owners, and as dog walkers and trainers! For about a year they have been walking our two Boston terriers, Chubby and Mynne. They have helped us to get them to walk better on a leash. They have also helped Mynne to overcome some of her leash aggression. They care about dogs so much, that they are really the only people that I really trust to take good care of our dogs while we're away on vacation! Well worth the price for peace of mind! read more

When I moved to the North Shore, I was a little worried about how I was going to replace my last puppy daycare/dog walker. I found Walk-A-Pup through Yelp and I am so thankful that I did. My French Bulldog Rosie has participated in dog walking and their playgroups, and I always come home to a very happy and tired dog on those days. Walk-A-Pup always leaves notes to tell me how Rosie's day was and I look forward to reading about her adventures. Every once in a while, Walk-A-Pup posts videos on their Instagram account and I see Rosie zooming around the room like a mad woman, so I know she is having as much fun as her notes say! I also recently took Rosie to a Winter Tricks and Games class with Dan and Rosie had a lot of fun learning about things she can do inside with me when the weather makes it harder for us to be outside for long periods of time. I would recommend Dan for training - he had some great tips and seemed willing to do research if there was something he didn't know how to teach! read more

I honestly don't even know where to start. I like to say that Dan and Yana plus the rest of the walk-pup crew are sent from heaven! I work in Boston, so when I got Lou my pug puppy I knew I had to find someone to help care for him during the day. They go above and beyond when it comes to caring for animals. After my first visit with Dan and Yana, I knew I could trust them and I also knew Lou would be in good hands!!! After every visit each dog walker leaves a note to tell the owner what his or her pup did during their visit, I love coming home and reading Lou's journal. All of the people who work at Walk a Pup are fantastic! read more

We fully entrust Walk A Pup with our dogs' care on a daily basis. The owners, Dan and Yana, are very knowledgeable and responsive and their staff is amazing with our dogs. They care for our dogs like their own and come in and out of our house each day with our utmost trust. We use their services for daily walks and have also done training. We love that the same 2-3 team members regularly come to our house and their walk routes and activities vary so they get to meet new friends. This is their passion and it really shows. I'd recommend them to anyone I know who has a pet needing walks, training, or pet sitting. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dan, Yana and the whole Walk A Pup team. Walk A Pup came highly recommended by the shelter we adopted our high anxiety dog from. About a week after adopting our dog, Dexter, we contacted Walk A Pup. They were not hesitant at all to take on our high needs dog. They worked with us closely to troubleshoot what would work/not work for walks, and after Dexter settled in, we decided to pursue training as well. Both experiences were amazing! Dan and Yana were always willing to give us their advice and even consulted with our behaviorist as Dexter tried out some anxiety meds. While we unfortunately had to move outside of the Walk A Pup walking area, Dan and Yana have continued to offer training and guidance. Dan also helped us find a local walker/trainer that he worked with one on one to ensure a smooth transition. If you're lucky enough to live in the Walk A Pup service area, give them a call! I don't know where we'd be without them. read more

Walk A Pup is the BEST! They allow me to change my dog's walk/playgroup schedule on a weekly basis and are very flexible. I have also done one-on-one training and group training which have both been incredibly helpful for my anxious dog. I feel fully comfortable leaving my dog in their hands, and based on their communication (daily notes, Instagram posts, etc), I can tell my dog loves her time with them and that they really love her. Can't recommend them enough! read more

We used Walk A Pup to care for our 2 crazy cats while we were away on a 2 week vacation. They did a great job, were very accomodating, and very affordable. They even left us a note every time they visited, played with the cats, and gave them treats. (All we had expected was food, water & litter change; so that was a nice surprise). We were extremely satisfied with the service provided, & would definitely use them again/recommend to others. read more

Yana and Dan do a great job running this place. Our dog is a big fan of the walking services. The walkers often take the dog for an hour or more on some great trips. They leave a journal behind with all the events that took place on the walk. Every walker I have met is very good with the dog and seems very responsible. After 2+ years, I can say I've never encountered any problems. read more

We have used Walk a Pup for almost a year to walk our pug, Finn. The only reason we stopped is because we moved out of the area. They came to our place two times a day every day of the week and we never once had one single problem with them. I have nothing but good things to say about Dan and Yana and everyone else who works for Walk a Pup. We were often making changes to our walking schedule on short notice and it was almost always accommodated. Our dog seemed happy when we got home from work and they always left very detailed notes that made us smile when reading them. We were genuinely sad to leave Salem only because of the fact that we would have to find new dog walkers. If you are considering contacting Walk a Pup don't hesitate - they are wonderful, professional, and caring and it will be hard to find another dog walker who compares. read more

When I moved to Salem, my biggest concern was how my dogs would adjust. As soon as I talked to Yana on the phone I knew I had found the right person. Ever since then, she and Dan have gone above and beyond for my dogs....not only walking them, but investing in their care the way I would. They are patient with my stubborn beagle (who is super cute) and make sure my ball-obsessed border collie gets just the right amount of exercise to poop her out but not aggravate her hip dysplasia. It is amazing how intuitive they are with my dogs needs, and how they understand their personalities. I have even noticed a big improvement in their temperament: happy, confident, more social. I agree that this isn't just a job for them, they are made for it! If I move I will have to relocate them..... read more

I could not be happier with Walk-A-Pup! My boyfriend and I have a rescue, Baxter, who we don't like to leave alone all day. We use Walk-A-Pup a couple times a week and when we come home from work, Baxter is tired and a happy boy. I love that the walkers always leave notes from their walk, so we know exactly what kind of adventures were had. We haven't yet gone on a vacation since we started with Walk-A-Pup, but we're so relieved that when the time comes to go away, we have super professional and trustworthy folks to leave Baxter with. read more

Walk a Pup put our mind at ease while we were away on our wedding and honeymoon for 3 weeks this year. They have also come to check on our cat while we were away on vacation a handful of times. I HIGHLY recommend them for cat sitting! They truly care about animals and I know my little guy is in good hands when we are away! Very trustworthy and overall great people. read more

Yana and Dan are amazing! They care for our dogs while we're away on vacation and if they just need walks from time to time . . . they are true animal lovers, and care for our dogs like they care for their own . . . we are lucky to have them! read more

Yana and Dan have been walking Sparky since Spring 2007 and have done an excellent job; very responsible and trustworthy. Detailed accounts of her day are very helpful. Recommend them very highly. Added Chester the cat about a year ago and have taken to him too! read more

We've been using Walk-a-pup for about a year and a half, and we are just thrilled with Yana and Dan and their staff. We have an energetic and social 2 year old dog, and since my husband and I are often gone for long hours for work, we have Walk-A-Pup come a few times a week to take her for walks. They are very nice to work with, and always leave notes about what dogs she walked with, who the walker was, where they went, and other details. And as proof to how much how our dog loves these guys, the few times when my husband or I are at home when the walkers come, you can tell how happy and excited she is to see her friends and go out with them. I have total trust in walk-a-pup to take great care of our dog! read more

Eight years as a client and we are still so thankful for the Walk-A-Pup team. Very professional, always pleasant (when we see them), trustworthy, great communication. They are fantastic and we highly recommend. read more

We can't say enough good things about the folks at Walk A Pup. They are genuinely good people who will take care of your pets like their own. Beyond just simple walks, they take the time to help shy and timid dogs come out of their shells. One of our pups was a bit standoffish at first, but Dan and his team never gave up on her. Their patience and care made her comfortable enough to come around quickly. They are also so flexible and responsive to our last minute requests and needs. We are so happy we found Walk A Pup! read more

Jeff and Yana are AMAZING. they run their business flawlessly, and are so professional. I had a very last minute emergency where I was away at work and my neighbor couldn't let our 11mo pup out as planned. I had no way of getting to her, but Walk a Pup had our key and VERY last minute we're able to fit us in on their schedule that day. I would recommend these guys to anyone! read more

Couldn't be more happy with the services provided by Walk A Pup. I recently ran in to some travel delays, and they were communicative and helpful throughout the entire ordeal. They took the stress of dealing with my pets out of the equation, and allowed me to focus on the task at hand. Thank you very much!! read more

Because of Dan and Yana, my dog has a better social life than I do!!! I was referred to them by a woman I met while out with my gorgeous 6 year old Cocker Spaniel, Jake. I've only had Jake a year, and when I got him, we nicknamed him "Shaky Jakey" because of how nervous he was. Since becoming one of the cool, "Walk-A-Pup" pack, Jake has become more confident, a much better leash walker, has a bunch of dog buds that I read about, and is loving life! I've met almost all of the walkers that have taken Jake out, and they all have been so wonderful. I work long hours and my place is an embarrassing MESS because I would rather spend my time with the pets than do the dishes. The Walk-A-Pup peeps are so good about stepping over the dog toys and ignoring the clutter--they are professional, flexible, and incredibly knowledgeable on so many levels. I recommend them to everyone I meet on my walks with Jake. It's funny because every time I mention "Walk-A-Pup" to someone, they'll say, "Oh yeah. I've heard about them. I've heard great things about them." Don't hesitate to contact them. They really are the best around! read more

Dan and Yana have been walking our two dogs since May 2011. Our schedules have been getting busier and we needed some help with walking, as well as training. We have had our black lab mix for about 5 years and added our smaller spaniel mix to the family last year. The little dog changed the dynamic of our home, as well as our lab's behavior, and we needed help to change it and make the dogs calmer and trained better as a pack. Dan and Yana's help has made a world of difference and we trust them immensely. They care about the dogs, are great to work with, and you can tell they love what they do. We are very grateful to have found them and highly recommend them! read more

We just moved to the North Shore from Boston and after using several different dog walking/doggy day care services in the past, I can say that Walk A Pup is the best we've ever had! I highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Best training and dog walking services on Northshore. Compassionate, reliable and professional. Not to mention fun and trustworthy. Thanks to them I know our dog is happy and in the best care! read more

I also cannot say enough nice things about Walk-A-Pup. The owners, Yana and Dan, are incredibly professional, very responsive and engaging with their clients, and just really nice caring people who clearly love animals and love what they do. As another reviewer mentioned, Yana and Dan get to know your dog before introducing other walkers and all the walkers I have met have been very nice, caring and also clearly very invested in the well-being on the animals. Our dog Winnie looks forward to her walks each week and we have absolutely confidence that she is getting the best care when we are not home with her ourselves. I also really love how the walkers leave a note each day to let me know where they went and how Winnie did. Kudos to a great business!!! read more

Love walk a pup! We've been using them for the past 2-3 years. Our dog (started as a puppy) use to be horrible at walking on leashes. Through training and the great effort from Walk a Pup, he is now walking perfectly on his walks! We love knowing that while we're at work, our dog is being taken care of. I look forward to reading the journals they leave about his daily walks. I also like that they walk them with other dogs in order to socialize them! read more

Dan and Yana are fantastic! Flexible with their schedule and they just LOVE dogs! Highly recommended.

I wish I could give this business ten stars but since that is not an option, my glowing review will have to do. Yana and Dan consistently go above and beyond what is required of them. They have been caring for our two pups, Balian the mutt and Nymeria the germen shepherd for over six months now and I think the day they go out of business is the day we no longer will get dogs. Raising dogs properly is an often lot like raising kids- you can't do it alone, not with work schedules and other life situations. Though they are extremely professional, it doesn't feel as though Yana and Dan work for us. They instantly became a part of our family and I think this is because they don't walk dogs as a job. It is a vocation, a calling and a career. They don't simply make sure our dogs are alive and have not wet in the house in our absence. They do so much more; they are an invaluable part of our dogs' lives. They are loving yet firm and have created strong bonds with both dogs while maintaining a leadership position. Our dogs are our family. We spend hours every day walking and training them and as such, we are extremely picky about who interacts with them and how. But Yana and Dan can walk my dogs better than I can and that is saying quite a bit given the amount of time I put into them. The dog's manners have improved since working with Walk a Pup and I feel as though I can truly relax when at work and come home to happy, exhausted pups. Walk a Pup is always on time, has never made a mistake in scheduling even though we've had to sometimes shift things around on them last minute and when we went away on vacation, really made us not only feel comfortable that we left our babies but glad because it was clear the dogs had an amazing experience. These guys are not only animal lovers but they understand dogs; they understand the challenges of powerful breeds like shepherds and have worked with us to make certain Nymeria's needs are met and that she reaches her full potential. We are so blessed to have found them. As as the above review states, I know my two dogs would whole heartedly agree. read more
